Weird SEO Problem - No Longer Ranking in Some Areas
-
Hi Everyone, I’ve got a weird SEO issue that I hope you’ll be able to help with. I’ve broken it down in to the key points below:
-
Impressions for our primary and secondary keywords dropped dramatically on 02.10.17.
-
Impressions have only dropped on non geographical keywords. “UK” variants are still ranking well. Investigation shows we’re not ranking outside of London at all for primary and secondary keywords.
-
Primary and secondary keywords are still ranking well in London, the city where we’re based
-
We’ve looked at our competition who do rank for the primary keyword both in and outside London. We noticed we have our “postaladdress” in our schema. The competition don’t have their address in their schema.
-
We updated our schema 2 weeks ago and now use the Yoast schema which is the same as our competitors use.
-
Approx 1 week after removing the schema we started showing up for primary and secondary keyword again, but very low - fluctuating between page 15 and page 24. It’s been 2 weeks now and no improvement.
-
AHREFS and google webmaster, both incorrectly detail that we rank top 5. Which is true to a degree, but only in London.
Thank you in advance!

Good for you, Rswhtn, for trying to get your key points into a list. I'm going to agree with Andy here: this list is something you need to take to company that does both local and organic SEO for a real audit. Trying to guess at this, without looking at your timeline, analytics, Google Search Console, competitive landscape, etc., is just going to be making random guesses as to why whatever has happened to your specific business has happened. You could be dealing with filters or penalties, you could be dealing with Google more highly localizing organic results in other places leading to you being edged out of anything but organic rankings for your own city, there could be a technical issue with your robots.txt. It could be so many things. The loss of traffic seems like enough of a reason to get a real audit going for this, so that no more time is being lost with your revenue being impacted.
-
I honestly would love to help with this, but there are just so many variables at play, it is almost impossible to do without an audit of some kind.
There is so much going on that anything thrown at you would be an out-and-out guess, which could land you in a wild goose chase.
However, it does sound similar to a recent client who were actually battling against a penalty due to over optimisation, lack of unique content, similar pages and a less than satisfactory user experience.
However, this only became apparent after looking at the site in depth to find this.

Hi, yes this is similar to my previous question however I think the amount of detail I gave previously proved a little difficult to follow. I've simplified the question here and have intentionally tried to get a more generalised response based on these facts.
If anyone is able to take a look and let me know their thoughts it would be appreciated.

One of my man pages is not ranking and does not seem to exist.
One of my main pages is not ranking and does not seem to exist. I have gone through every tool on webmaster and yoast. I cannot find an error, but every metric I know of says my page should be on the first page of my target search term. Moz graded it as an A, but It is not ranked on any page. Can someone please help?? my target search is "Jekyll Island Wedding Photographer" my home page shows up on page 2 but this page http://saintsimonsphotography.com/jekyll-island-wedding-photographer/ is my page that does not seem to exist. I have never had this problem with any of my other businesses. Jekyll island is the next island over and I need this term to rank. Thank you for any help.

Roller Coaster Rankings
Hi All! I'm an experienced SEO freelancer trying to help a company achieve great SEO results 🙂 I optimized a lot of pages which helped the site start ranking, but now some keywords are flying up and down seemingly at random. For example, one keyword went from #11 to under #50! Is it a bad sign when there is instability in the keywords? Should I be seeing some "settling down'' on my dear keywords? If there is no settling, any suggestions?

Site Not Rankings After a Few Months
I have a client site that I am beating my head against the wall for right now. Three months into a 100% white hat campaign, we can't get him ranking in the top 150. Here's the cliffsnotes: Built a new wordpress website All on page SEO has been done and score an A+ for his primary kws Robots.txt is setup correctly .htaccess is setup correctly new domain multiple 95 DA, 50 PA links from reputable, national sites. Yext Local listings SSL, CDN, Speed optimized Has 19 pages indexed by Google Posting one blog a week for him Granted his primary keyword is a hyper competitive kw, but still, I've been doing this for 8 years and never seen a guy be stuck on the 16th page for so long for the sort of links we are building him. I'm genuinely stumped here and could use some help.

Copying a Website For Better Rankings in a Specific Country
I've got a blog with some tools and business directories (https://www.webhostinghero.com). Actually my website is in English and is hosted in the US since its biggest source of traffic is from there. My second biggest traffic source is India. The issue is that while my website is really well optimized (in terms of speed), it is still slow for visitors from India. So my question is: Would it be possible to have a copy of my website on a web server located in India and use a sub-domain (ie.: in.webhostinghero.com) to access it without being penalized by Google? Would that be considered duplicate content? What would be the HREF LANG tag set to for India (EN-US, EN-GB... EN-IN??) I thought that having a sub-domain for a specific country could also help its rankings. Thanks in advance for your inputs. P.S. Sorry my english sucks.

SEO Client not rankings in Google
Hello, I have a client that has continued to be problematic for my team and I. They have fair to middling rankings in Yahoo and Bing, but none in Google. I realize that they are three separate search engines each with their own criteria, but this client is the only one experiencing this problem. There is no significant duplicate content that can find, same with restrictions in the robots.txt file. These seems to be no reason why all my tools say that this client has no presence at all in google, especially when the client gains most of their traffic through Google. Can anyone assist me in finding out what is going wrong? Client website for reference: http://www.volvethosp.com/ Best, BeyondIndigo

General SEO Help
Hi Everyone, **Website: **www.helppestcontrol.com I've been working on a wordpress based website for the past few months now. This is a new website that we designed for an existing company that decided to rebrand. The previous website had little to no traffic.. so we've basically started for scratch. I've followed SEO guides and have completed many of the basics. We started using MOZ just under a month ago and have made a ton of changes based upon those suggestions. With all of this being said, we have seen some slight improvements in traffic, but nothing truly noticeable. In fact, 90% of our traffic is coming from a Facebook PPC campaign. I think the main struggle is that the company has such a wide operating based (a ton of very small towns and cities). We created an optimize page for each one (same content, just switched out the keywords).. in hopes of driving traffic. Is this the correct approach? Or should be optimize for general terms such as "Bed Bug Removal" versus "Bed Bug Removal Barrie"? I was hoping that the community could take a look at the website (maybe run it through a few tests) and give me some more suggestions. I would really appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
