Where can I find places to guest blog?
-
I have done a couple of guest blogs but I have come up dry as of late. Any tips on where to find blogs interested in linking for content?
-
Sorry Ann, I meant to add the link - doing too many things at once today
It is a subgroup of The Blog Zone.
I will check your site tomorrow, Ann.

Which group do you mean here? the GUEST BLOGGER group? Just wondering, maybe there are a few of them. Mind a link?
-
Thanks for the mention, Kristy!
While I never recommend using only one method (the best way is to combine a few of them like searching Google, guest blogging for blogs you read daily and know best, etc), adding MyBlogGuest to the mix is highly efficient: besides offering multiple actual guest blogging opportunities, there's a huge community built there as well as plenty of way to learn more about guest blogging tactics, general rules and ethics, etc

One more place to look is on LinkedIn - join the Guest Blogging group

These are all great responses. I would add:

Here are three tactics that I use for finding good places to guest blog:
-
Look at the link profiles of the current 1-20 for a keyword you're interested in. There will be a lot of noise and some unwinnable links, but you can get some good prospects as well.
-
Look in Google Analytics at what sites have linked to your last 5 (or 10) blog posts on that topic. Anyone who's already linking to your content at all is probably a great target for further link power.
-
Identify and reach out to any industry websites or publications that might be hungry for content. It's easy to say "They have staff writers, they probably are all set for content." I've found that they are often actually pretty hungry, and always interested in fresh viewpoints and perspectives. You might not think of their site as a "blog", and they might not call it a blog, but if it has an editorial space where you can write great content and collect a link or two, you've got a hot lead.
I hope that helps!

Firstly do a search online for Guest blogging opportunities. Here’s more or less complete list of phrases bloggers use to invite people to guest post:
- “Submit a guest post” / “Submit post” / “Submit blog post”
- “Add blog post”
- “Submit an article”
- “Suggest a guest post”
- “Send a guest post”
- “Write for us”;
- “Become an author”;
- “Guest bloggers wanted”
- “Contribute to our site”;
- “Become a contributor”;
- “Become guest writer”
- “(Write for our) guest column”.
Include your keyword in the search term i.e. "submit a guest blog" Link building
Don't always start with the people on page 1-3 they get inundated with requests everyday so jump straight to page 5 they are more likely to accept.

How many backlinks should I incluede in guest blog?
Hello MOZ I really need some help here and would love your advice! I have access to a fantastic PBN through my sister's work colleague who is an experienced marketing director. The PBN is relative to my industry and are all DA 50+ My sister is a copywriter and is putting content together around 500-600 words long. My questions are: How many backlinks should she include in each guest blog post? Are 2 too many? Should the anchor text keywords be exact to the products I am selling? Tips/Advice going forward with the project? Thank you!

Wordpress Blog Pages, Duplicate Title Tag
Anyone have any experience in fixing the duplicate Title tag on a Wordpress blog multiple pages Basically the title tag remains the same on the pages /Blog/ /Blog/Page/2/ /Blog/Page/3/ My good friend Yoast Plugin doesn't seem to of resolved this (Unless i have missed something?) I don't really see this to be effecting anything and wouldn't of through it would either, but it would be nice to not see the notification within Moz site crawls and campaigns etc, its more of a cosmetic problem Any solutions ? Thanks James

My Guest Blog: Still A Good Link Building Resource?
In an effort to build some links, we want to really work on improving our blog content and exposure. We want to write two quality posts per week, and submit 1 quality guest post every 1-2 weeks. However, we're not sure how to go about submitting guest posts or who to submit them to? I found an all article from SEOmoz http://moz.com/blog/4-valuable-link-building-services but it's from 2010. Is myguestblog still a good source? Are there better ways of doing it? Also, is ever advisable to pay to submit a post? Some of the legal blogs (we're a law firm) have this option, but that strikes me as spammy or low quality links. Just to reiterate, we are striving to write high-quality useful content audiences will find beneficial, not just junk or salesmanship. If it takes longer than a week to write posts like that, that's fine. We just really need some specific advise on who we should be submitting our guest posts to and who we should avoid. Thank you all so much for any advice or suggestions, Ruben

Should a business blog be on a separate site or on the ecommerce site itself?
Hey there. I'm a new Pro member and this will be my first question on the Q&A. Thanks in advance for your responses. I'm the owner of an ecommerce site that sells custom candles. www.prometheancandle.com in case anyone wants to take a peak. I've become somewhat of an expert on all-things-candles over the past 4 years and I am thinking about starting a candle related blog. My question is this. Should I build this blog on the ecommerce site itself, say @ www.prometheancandle.com/blog.php, or should I devote a separate site to answering candle related question, history of candles, etc? At first, I was thinking that the blog should remain on the ecommerce site so readers would have easy access to the shop to be able to purchase products. But then it occurred to me that people who may be interested in reading up on candle history, candle making, meditation & candles, etc., may not want to go to an obviously ecommerce site to do that. I know Google values informational sites more than ecommerce sites (at least I think they do), so that encourages me to lean towards the separate site. Well, I may have just answered this question myself, but I'd definitely be interested to hear feedback and opinions. Thanks so much guys and I look forward to hearing from you.

Does Google penalize for duplicate blog posts?
Occasionally, I get asked by another blogger if they can repost (in full) one of our blog posts on their blog as a guest post. I've always been under the impression that Google penalizes this type of behavior, but I haven't seen any evidence. Is this true?

Can I delete an old blog post and be ok?
I wrote some blog posts on my wordpress blog a few years ago that I no longer want on my site. I have them "no index" and "no follow" but everytime I run a report on my site they still seem to pop up. If I just delete the posts will it result in a broken link for my site? Or is there another way I can go about it? Thanks guys

Should I Have No Index, No Follow On Blog Category & Tag Pages?
At some point in the past I read or was told that No Index, No Follow tags on category and tag pages were a good thing on a standard WordPress blog in order to prevent duplicate content issues. Is this still true or was it ever true?
