Best Social Sharing Platform for B2b sites
-
Guess that title of the question says it all. What is the best social platform for dull b2b sites? The kind of content that you wouldn't want to share with your friends and family.... Not that type of content before anyone gets the wrong idea

Result!

Thanks Mat, you have actually given me a great idea for an article.

I've just watched a stunning video about how to de-rag a pump in 2.5 mins! OK - I'll admit you've got a challenge on your hands.
I'll assume for a moment that a link based piece that focuses on all the innuendo surrounding pump deragging is out of the question. However I can't help think that there is a slightly naughty tumblr to be had here pulling off some meme type images.
The video I just watched seemed to be based entirely on the sales pitch of speed. Is that something that you could do an interesting thing around? Maybe a video of a deragging race? Or one of someone deragging a pump in less time than it takes to boil a kettle (ending with them sitting down for a cup of tea to underline the time saving).
Probably not quite right - but it shows that dull topics don't have to be presented in a dull way.

Thanks Mat. Maybe I was approaching the question the wrong way round. I should make the dull content more interesting rather than trying to promote dull content.
If you're interested Google 'pump de-ragging' this is the kind of $£** I have to deal with.
btw: FollowerWonk is a great tool.

I know it's easier said then done, but is there something you can do to make it interesting ? Think some sort of interesting infographics or something that could make it interesting enough to be shared. That reminds me of another seomoz user, who's active here and also written about it - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/a-small-success-story-inspired-by-seomoz-and-its-contributors

Wow - sounds like a fun project! Are people really going to share anything that dull though? Sounds like the content is the issue not the platform.
I'll assume you mean "niche" rather than "dull". If it is interesting to the target audience then you have a chance. If not then you're stuffed whatever platform you use. So - interesting, but only if you are the right type of geek.
You just need to find where those geeks are hanging out. I tend to find twitter is good for those smaller niche groups, but that is partly because they are easier to find thanks to tools like followerwonk. It is very dependent on the niche though.

How to market spiritual, product, and service site on very low budget
Hello, How would you recommend marketing this site? We write all sorts of intelligent articles, healing articles, have a Shaman who sells healing services, are on the forefront of product development in our field, sell products, and will eventually make money through ads as well. We are about to add a few products such as orgonite, see here, t-shirts, and we want to promote the services of this person whose writings are on this page. We're adding a thorough local and distance healing page (soon to come) for that person (Earth Thunder). Our donate page is here. We give away 30% of our products as gifts. Our Facebook page is here. We are barely getting started. How would you recommend doing on-site SEO, marketing, and content for this site? Any other suggestions you have would be very welcome. I'm finding it challenging since we're so unique. Thanks.

Value in content from website being shared across social media?
I asked this question a couple of days ago. Would be great if anyone has some good insight: I write content on my site, which I immediately share across Twitter, FB and Google+. Will Google view me as active on social media with this onsite content I distribute across social media sites (basically creating duplicate info across social media, which already is on my site) or will I be seen as less active on social media since I do not write original content on the social media sites, but rather use content from my site and distribute across social media.

Request: Feedback on new free tool that provides social analytics for recent blog posts
We have created a tool that provides "at a glance social metrics" for the URLs listed in an RSS feed. Its intended purposes are: Monitor the social success of your recent blog posts Spy on the social success of your competitors' recent blog posts Quickly analyze a blog for social sharing metrics to determine whether it is a good outreach prospect or guest post opportunity Check out the tool at http://www.rypmarketing.com/tools/rss-social-analyzer.php I've attached a report run on the YouMoz RSS feed. Would love to hear some feedback on the tool... Do you think the tool is useful? Nice, but not worthwhile? What could be done to improve it? What ways do you think it will be most useful? Thanks! Social media profiles with same description - Duplicate content or reinforcing business details?
Hi, I am currently doing a Social media review and find myself wondering whether having exactly the same copy - or part thereof, on a businesses' Facebook, LinkedIn, G+, Twitter, profile(s) is likely to be viewed by SE's as a good or bad thing? Is it duplicate content and to be avoided? Or would it be viewed as a case of the business trying to ensure a consistent profile and therefore reinforcing your business details?

Very interesting test on social signals, thoughts?
According to this inforgraphic I found on Unbounce, the most powerful social signal is Google-Plus followers followed by Google-Plus votes. Now these results look amazing, so if this test is correct I need to gather 100 business page followers and a shed load of plus votes and I should see big movement in the SERP's? Thoughts? http://www.tastyplacement.com/wp-content/uploads/testing-social-signals.jpg testing-social-signals.jpg

Do social media buttons work better "within" a website or "outside" of a website?
Websites like techcrunch.com include the social media buttons (+1, FB like, linkedin etc.) to the left of their articles so they seem to float outside of the content. Some even let the social media buttons wander while scrolling, so that they are always visible (e.g. here: http://www.kirstenwinkler.com/news-from-palabea-and-how-to-prepare-kids-for-tomorrow/). The "traditional" way has been to include the buttons within the content, e.g. on top of the article or on the right hand side. I was wondering which alternative has the largest impact. Intuitively "outside" of the content should be more visible as it "breaks" with the website design. Has anyone done an empirical test which version gets more clicks?

Wordpress left side share buttons
Looking online I noticed sites like mashable listing share buttons on the left of the screen I think this is a great idea and a lot more prominent. So I then looked at the current solution we have on wordpress that lists them at the bottom of the individual posts. does anyone know of any plugins that list the share buttons to the left of the page ?

What are your top 3 social bookmarking and social networking sites for Ecommerce?
I am trying to figure out the best social bookmarking and social networking sites to use for my eCommerce sites. Often in the social bookmarking platforms posting a review or a product is instantly considered spam. I know that having links from these types of sites are important but I don't want to come across as spam. What creative solutions do you use for this challenge?
