Which is best blogging platform from SEO POV?
-
I am curious to find out what is the blogging platform of choice for enterprize level companies (employees more than 500, revenue more tan 150M).
What would be the best solution from SEO point of view?
I have used Wordpress in the past for small companies and feel that is the best.
We are currently using Telligent. Is anybody using it?

One more vote for Wordpress. If it's good enough for some of the major SEO companies out there to use as their blogging platform then it's good enough for a little pest control guy like me.

I would go with Wordpress and the Thesis theme which is highly customizable and complete for SEO purposes. Matt Cutts uses that combination on his blog.

I don't see how wordpress could be best for small companies but not for big companies. A blog is a blog. Wordpress is great and easy to use with lots of features. It is vastly better than blogger. I don't know anything about Telligent. From an SEO perspective though, I don't know what wordpress could improve upon, I think it is the best out there.

If I change Tags and Categories in Wordpress blog post, will it negatively affect SEO and cause 404s?
Hi, I have belatedly come to the conclusion that I have been using tags and categories when blogging in wordpress incorrectly. The result is that Google seems to prefer to show my archives and tags in search results rather than the post itself. Not good UX. As the site is only a few months old, am I best to learn my lesson and tag and categorize correctly moving forward or Should I go back in to these posts and clean them up & categorize and tag correctly. If I do this, will it cause 404s and hurt my SEO? Thanks!

Infinite scroll blog
We're currently re-designing a website for our client, which includes an infinite scroll blog. When driving traffic to individual blog posts, is there a particular way to provide them with a unique URL to view the desired blog post? Thanks.

Best SEO service/process to harness the power of quality backlinks?
What/who would you recommend for those looking for a strategy around realizing the benefits of high quality back links? We have tons of earned links from DA 90+ sites, but don't think we are realizing the full benefit due to onsite issues. We have scraper sites outranking us. Would it be a technical on page audit? Any guidance appreciated.

Javascript redirects -- what are the SEO pitfalls?
Q: Is it dangerous (SEO fallout) to use javascript redirects? Tech team built a browser side tool for me to easily redirect old/broken links. This is essentially a glorified 400 page -- pops a quick message that the page requested no longer exists and that we're automatically sending you to a page that has the content you are looking. Tech team does not have the bandwidth to handle this via apache and this tool is what they came up with for me to deliver a better customer experience. Back story: very large site and I'm dealing with thousands of pages that could/should/need to be redirected. My issue is incredibly similar to what Rand mentioned way back in a post from 2009: Are 404 Pages Always Bad for SEO? We've also decided to let these pages 404 and monitor for anything that needs an apache redirect. Tool mentioned above was tech's idea to give me "the power" to manage redirects. What do you think?

Free Joomla SEO Extension?
Hi all -- all along, I have used Tag Meta as a super simple Joomla extension to manage page titles. The most recent Joomla site I manage is using K2. The Tag Meta extension will install, but something with K2 is overriding the page titles that I put in. Thus, I am simply looking for a free (if at all possible) Joomla extension that will allow me to enter unique page titles for each page of the site without changing the Joomla page title of each page. Or, if anyone has had the same problem, I'm looking for a solution to make Tag Meta and K2 play nice. Any suggestions?

Best hosting
We understand that some companies offering class c ips can still be fingerprinted.. Is there any hosting site that does offer class c ips that prevents that? Or is the best bet using privacy on all domains and then using multiple hosting companies, checking the ips they offer as you go? If that is the case, are there any recommendations for the best host companies that offer the least fingerprinting?

If I redirect my WordPress blog to my main site, will it help my main site's SEO?
I have separate sites for my blog and main website. I'd like to link them in a way that enables the blog to boost my main site's SEO. Is there an easy way to do this? Thanks in advance for any advice...
