WordPress Rankings ?

It looks for me that WordPress sites get to rank better for some reason ... I dont know wil you will agree with this one with me or not.
The question is... do they hold their rankings for the certain keyword with a time? or they lose them as fast as they get them?
Shouldn't be content rank the same across all platforms? Content is a content and it dosent matter how it's presented? is it the case with google?
For example: Create Wordpress site for only 3 products, provide good content for those 3 products... and sell them with some of shopping cart plugins (any recommendations on the plugin?)
Will I get rankings faster and keep them?

The only thing that possibly helps with Wordpress is that it does come with plugins that you have to install by the way that automatically updates your sitemap to Google. I know a sitemap is not any significant help in ranking but it prods Google to tell them "Hi look a new page" but again as the previous posters mention this is usually just a receny bump.
There are lots of other 'SEO' (deliberate italics here that make life easier for titles and descriptions. But as far as Googel cares your site is just text and if you make it attractive they will/may come back more often.

So does anyone believe that telling Google within the coding of the site that you are using the wordpress platform hurts your site for long term?

I think that what wordpress have to offers best is how quick your content get indexed with it. Correctly using the ping system it has built in I normally got any page I published indexed on Google before 24 hours after the publishing for new sites, and almost instantly with old sites, anyway, its nothing that you could get done by yourself but with considerable more work.
So basically i think it just automate some hard work process leaving you to do what really matters for SEO.

so what you saying content is a content... if it's good it ranks as it's deserves. Dosent matter how you present it.

Rankings in the long run will depend upon the quality, strength and optimization of your website.
Wordpress pages rank where they deserve in the long run. Don't expect magic from any content management system. Rankings are earned.

So eCommerce website shouldn't be based on wordpress because it wont rank good in search engines in a long run term...
seomoz.org probably runs on the custom software?

Google often gives new pages produced by any method a small boost in the rankings. Then those pages slip down to where they properly should rank.
I don't think that WordPress will be a magic bullet for product pages - if it was everybody would be using it. I would have millions of pages in the SERPs.
If you have a very strong blog (WordPress or other) that posts a stready stream of newsy content. Google will often give new posts a very surprising ranking for a very brief period of time - one to three days - then they fall down to where they deserve. I believe that this is some combination of fresh content from a trusted source in a SERP that is very time sensitive.

Where can I install a blog (not on the domain I'm optimising) which will help my search rankings?
I've got my hands tied, and I cannot install a blog like Wordpress on the domain I'm optimising. My question is, where then, would the next best place be? I've heard stories about subdomains being completely useless for affecting SEO of the root domain, and so anything external would probably have the same effect, correct? Is it Possible for an Internal Page to Rank for Various Terms Based ONLY on Blogging Anchor Text?
Hi everyone, Our company provides about 6 different services, each with a specific page on our website: 1. Accept ACH Payments (/accept_ach_payments.html) 2. Client Management & Billing Software (/customer_management.html) 3. Small Business Merchant Accounts (/small_business_merchant_account.html) etc etc Now, here's the question. One of our blogging strategies is to write content about how our online platform can help various types of businesses manage and grow their business. "5 Ways Fitness Business Can...." "How Law Firms Can Benefit...." etc In these blog posts, we don't specify our product, but we do link back into one of those main service pages, so I might link fitness management software to the Client Management & Billing Software (/customer_management.html) page as well as legal billing software to the same client management page Since there are so many different companies that could use our software, we don't want to include them on the Cl_i_ent Management & Billing Software page. That page is just about the benefits of the system and how it works as a great CRM. So....to make a long question short, are we able to rank the Client Management page for "fitness management software" and "legal billing software" if we don't use those terms on the "client management" page itself, and only use it as the anchor text when linking? Instead of making a separate page about how we can be used as a fitness management platform, we'd like our "client management" page to rank for various terms like "fitness management software" "legal billing software" "online church donation software" etc BUT, we don't want to bloat the client management page will all those other topics and content. Anyone good at ranking on Yahoo?
I don't get Yahoo or Bing these days! I wrote a story "Did David Wineland and Serge Haroche Steal Idea For The Nobel Physics Prize?" It is a unique story, sourced from a prince. It is referenced on many other sites. It has had about 115,000 pageviews so far. most of those people read 2 or 3 pages. Do Yahoo or Bing list my story? No. They list all the referencing sites, they even list unrelated stories on my site that show that headline in the "top ten stories of the day" widget, but not the story itself. It has about 1250 shares. What am I doing wrong? http://buff.ly/WXso4P Is it page structure?

What is the best way to rank organically for location search?
I just read this great article about location search. I am going o read it over and over again, but I wanted to ask... When ranking organically for location searches, do you recommend posting articles (such as testimonials, etc) or build informative pages - that can link through the home page through the nav bar or through a drop down or what have you. There are so many ways to do it, what do you think is best?

Wordpress Duplicate Pages/ URL's - Help !
Hi guys, I have been running SEOMoz for just over a month and slowly cleaning up one of my Wordpress Blogs. While going through the crawl reports I have noticed that I have duplicate pages showing on the crawl. For example, the main post would be; www.xxxxx.com/blog/post-title Then I see another URL which would be; **www.xxxx.com/blog/page/59 ** When I click on either URL it goes back to the actual post title URL. What's with these page URL's ? Isn't these two URL's showing duplicate content to the search engines ? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My Wordpress traffic has gone through the roof, huge referrals from wordpress.com - why?
My Wordpress traffic has hit an all time high over the last few days - in the last 48 hours I've had as many views as the last two months combined. This huge spike in traffic has coincided with a great piece of exclusive content that went up, but I wouldn't expect the traffic to be nearly as high as this. The strange thing is that all the extra traffic seems to be referred from Wordpress.com, however, I cannot drill down to a more specific URL. Also, the referrals do not seem to translate into page views of the homepage, nor a particular article. Can anyone offer any insight into this situation? Thanks
