How do I get internal pages to rank?

Hi Jonathan,
In taking a brief look at your website, I see that you are not giving equal treatment to your 2 locations. Your Austin address is the only one appearing in the site footer and neither address is appearing on your contact page. If you have a unique address and local area code phone number for each location, it's vital that you list them both, in addition to creating unique content on the site revolving around the 2 locations, getting Google Places/Google+ Local pages for the 2 locations (with address likely hidden) and engaging in other work like linkbuilding. Right now, 'Denver' appears like an afterthought on the website. If you've got 2 locations, they both deserve full treatment.

I've had a look at your existing target Denver page (assuming it's http://www.photojennette.com/topics/denver-wedding-photography/). It's currently set to noindex, instructing Google not to index the page.
Change that first and foremost.
Secondly, I see this is essentially a category page, which is great because the content is likely to change frequently. But I would recommend getting some static content on there in addition to this. It should be specific to Denver and actually of use to people. Maybe a list of Denver wedding venues you have previously photographed, an address of an office you have or can use in Denver etc etc, maybe a guide to some of the better known Denver wedding venues.
Good luck!

Im thinking you can create a denver page. I know you think that having these big images on the home page is what people want to see but I'm sure you can do a lot better by adding a form on the home page and get more leads. I can wireframe something out for you if you want.
Thinking - You can have both your denver office and austin office on the home page. On the Austin Page - have your address and number on the bottom. On your Denver Page, have your phone number and address there for just your denver location.
Make it easier for people to contact you. Also, your page is kind of slow.
I think this will do you wonders: http://wordpress.org/plugins/pinterest-pin-it-button-for-images/
By the way, I love your font.

Get more relevant Denver photography links to your Denver pages.
That will help you rank for Denver.
If you have two locations do you also have two studio?

Rankings & Linking Root Domains
How are the Linking Root Domains under Keyword Rankings being found? We've noticed for many of our key terms that big brands like Amazon, eBay, Home Depot, etc. only list 1 linking root domain, while much smaller competitors in our industry have hundreds. Clearly big brands are going to get more links than a company most people haven't heard of and the idea that these companies only have 1 linking root domain to a specific subcategory on their site is not believable. What's going on here?

Competitor's Ranking's Reports are Showing Blank Values for Rankings
When selecting competitors to see how they rank for specific terms in the ranking's report page here, it loads the page normally, but without any actual rankings. Where values should be, it lists all values as our competition not ranking whatsoever (for all competitors). I'm not sure if there is something we're doing wrong, or perhaps we just need to wait for a refresh, but if anybody could help out, that would be wonderful!

I must be tripping. How is this site ranking for the term "SEO Company"??????
When I go to Google non-custom search results and search the term: seo company The website "greencowseo.com" is ranked 3rd. OpenSiteSearch shows nothing. And get this... the domain was registered 14 days ago by somebody in Egypt. Do I need to quit my SEO Moz membership and hire this guy? 🙂

Internal linking structure
Hello, Is there a way to see the most anchor text of a sites internal linking structure, that is not mine. For example how many times a competitor used the anchor text "door" on their site. Not external links though, just the internal ones. Thank you, Ada

Link to landing page or home page
Ok, so I've been doing a bit of link research and found that most of our competitors use anchor text to link to their homepage on their site and not a specific landing page. Our current strategy is to link to the correct landing page depending on the anchor to get these to rank, as opposed to getting our homepage to rank for different keywords. If that makes sense. The main reason I can think of to send all links to the homepage is that it would increase the domain authority of the site as a whole. Instead of spreading the links to certain pages depending on the anchor text. It would also give your one page a greater chance to rank for all keywords? Quick example I am a site that sells sports clothes. I have 2 main pages from my homepage: Homepage Football Rugby _Should I link to the football page for all links anchored with "football", and all linked anchored with "rugby" to the rugby page OR should I anchor all links including "rugby" and "football" to the homepage? _ What do you think is the best strategy? Thanks in advance.

Sometime I just don't get Google rankings
We currently rate #10 on google.com.au on Modern Cloth Nappies and the #4 site is a dead link to a page http://www.modernclothnappies.org/ who's total content is: Index of /
Apache Server at www.modernclothnappies.org Port 80

They have been at that rank for a quiet a while and even the cached version is full of broken links.

It seems Google is quick to jump on low value sites or ones with duplicate content, but what about stale links and sites? Has anyone else had similar experiences of being out ranked by domant or dead sites?
