Is putting an email address in the page title a good idea?

As our Contact Us page title was a little short I added in sales@example.com
So "Contact us : Sales@example.com"
We don't get a lot of spam and it hasn't noticeable increased since we did this. Tynt suggests that a reasonable number of people have copied and pasted the email - presumably to contact us
Is it worth experimenting with further or a waste of time?

Online chat was a total fail. We had user voice on the site for a year and no one used it! Ever.

I really like that point about the quick sales funnel.
We we tried using the idea of leads but for us they didn't work as we sell industrial goods. Sales cycle is normally 2 weeks for $100k purchases With multiple repeat purchases over the year - but it's fiercely competing with a low win rate. So making it very quick and easy for someone to send us an enquiry on impulse is important.
Forms, ecommerce and telephone don't usefully work - enquiries are usually too difficult and too complex.
Interestingly it's made me consider what the point of our website is. The SEO part is targeted at the unknown unknowns. Companies who would make good customers if I knew that they existed. but that is actually a pretty short tail because we should know 70-80% of potential buyers. But the rest is really about credibility and improving offline conversion rates.
Which brings me back to the email - am I making it easier for someone, taking out the friction? I think so....

I do this on my about or contact page, i put my phone, email and even president name so when someone searches for a company it pops up in the SERPs

This is a good thought.
I really don't want customers contacting me. I want them to read the website. My biz model is self-service and I have LOTS of content on the website to answer customer questions. Most of the people who contact me are not going to be customers. They just purchased used and got a lemon and want to know how to fix it.
But... if you WANT customer content using the title is fantastic.

Something that no one else has mentioned is that whether or not this is a good idea depends very much on 2 things:
- Is Sales@example.com the only means by which a customer would normally contact you?
- Does your business have a quick sales funnel? (Put another way, is the process between leads and conversions fast in comparison to the average in your industry/region?)
If the answer to either of these is "No", then I would suggest you not add an email in your page title. Typically, you only want to put strong attention on a specific method of contact if that's either your only method, or if that method leads to a significant amount of quick-funnel conversion. Otherwise, you may end up doing more harm than good.

Makes sense to me as well. Just to be Dr. Obvious, you need to make sure that your email (and phone) are also clearly shown on the page itself. It drives me crazy when I cannot find contact information easily on a sales page and that is what is preventing me from getting my question asked so that I can purchase. If you wanted to get some more responses, try an online chat function. You might be surprised how many people use this to contact you.

Never heard of doing this. The title/meta description is ideally written to match searcher's intent. However, if the searcher's intent is to contact you, this answers that intent quickly (always nice). Also, since the user's intent isn't searching for blue widgets (where blue widget's should be in the title), no seo harm that I could see (may reduce click-through's though--doesn't matter much in this case).

I think that this is a good idea.
If you want people to contact you by email then the title is a great place to shout that.
If you prefer email over phone then it is even better to put the email address in such an obvious place.
I do not see any SEO reason against it.

Email Campaign Tracking within Domain & Subdomains
What is the best process to track conversions/visits in Google Analytics when running an email campaign that links to both a sub-domain and then the main domain? To elaborate further, we have an email marketing campaign that directs users to a subdomain (e.g. promos.website.com) within the subdomain we include our products. Once a user clicks on the promos, they are taken to our main website (e.g website.product1.com). What is the best process to track conversions from this email campaign that leads users to the sub-domain first, then to the main site (where the conversions take place)? We have URL tagging in the Email Campaign - but not able to see the true conversions show up in Analytics on the main site. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Anything Good or Bad about Google Trusted Stores ?
We are looking to implement Google Trusted Stores. We don't use PPC but we think that the badge on our website will be helpful for us and our customers. Adwords Remarketing Advice - Low Traffic Pages
Moz, I am just looking for a little advice if anyone has any experience with Google Adwords and remarketing in particular, I am currently looking through the Adwords help pages to gain a better understanding of how Adwords remarketing works, from what i gather this can be a really useful resource to use in certain industries and i have a lot of ideas and scenarios where i think this could work really well, I am just trying to get a good understanding of the how remarketing lists are built up, Using Rule based targeting for visitors that have visited a specific page that gains roughly 1200 unique visits every 60 days, so i have set the membership duration to 60 days, So if i use the visit of this page as a rule for my list, then in a little less than 60 days time then my custom ads should start appearing to these previous visitors ? My Question Am a right in thinking the remarketing list is like a funnel, once 1000 visitors are added to this list/funnel then my ads will start showing, but then as those visitors in the funnel have reached the 61st Day they will be removed, and replaced with the new visitors being added to the list for that day ? Aslong as my list remains above 1000 visitors it will continue to show, but if i were to drop below 1000 visits within that 60 days my ads would not be visible ? so i would need to potentially extend the membership period if this happens ? Apologies as i really struggled to explain this question as best as i can 🙂 Hope someone can drop me a quick comment and straighten this out to ensure that i am on the right track and i am understanding this correctly 🙂 Thanks a lot James

Keeping pages indexed but making sure they fill out a form before access - confusing Q's
OK so let me break down this little scenario we have going on. I work for a b2b company so we have a lot of gated content that is behind a form fill out - this is how we get a lot of our lead generation. Some pages that we have behind the form are showing up in search which allows people to view the documents bypassing the form. At first I thought, well why dont we just no index that page so that it does not appear in search. But then I thought it would be smart to keep the pages indexed to keep the SEO value, Is there a way to keep these pages indexed but make sure that when they click the link in the SERPS that they need to fill out the form in order to gain access to the document? Something on the backend that checks to make sure that the referral URL was completed or something like that? Anybody deal with this before?

SEO For Personalized Content Pages
Hi, We are building a site that has content that personalizes based each visitor. This is being done to serve the most relevant content for conversion purposes and NOT for SEO purposes. So, there are many diferent versions of each page based on the visitor's location, device, browser, keyword-used, traffic source, etc. Obviously, we don't want this to appear like cloaking (it is genuine content personalization) and wondered how Google would view this? What is the safeguard for protecting the website from potential penalties? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

When is it good to use target="_blank"
Hi! Just wondering about user experience and when to use target="_blank" in links on the website. Let's take homepage, for example. Is it better to have social media icons (for Facebook page or Twitter or Google+ page) open in a new window on homepage? When is it appropriate to use target="_blank" and when using it is too much for a user to handle? Am I right to say that target="_blank" should be used when you don't want that link to get on the way of what visitor is doing? What's best for conversion? Good content but high bounce rate
Hi all, We run a website offering specialist turkey tours and gulet cruises. Our website holds a few information and recipes pages which are doing well in the engines and bring in alot of traffic. However these pages are crippling our bounce rate with bounces of about 80-90%. The time on site for these pages are above the websites average, but it seems that once the reader has finished with the information/ recipe, they bounce back to the Search engines. An example of one of our recipe pages can be found here: http://www.petersommer.com/turkey/turkish-food/pilav-rice/ We have thought about moving and redirecting these pages from our main site to a new website, but we are worried that it may effect our position in the SERP's. Can anybody offer any advice on this? Thanks
