How much Domain Authority is enough?
-
I will clean my backlinks removing those with low DA and keeping medium and high DA.
Since which number of Domain Authority is good to focus my efforts?
Thanks!

Great add Joseph! Totally agree with you that there is much more to it than just creating quality content from the link earning perspective. I was just making the point that focusing on your sites DA & PA shouldn't be the focal point of one's efforts. I could have elaborated more but I appreciate you doing so! Cheers!

I agree with both previous comments but also have another opinion to add as well.
1. I agree not to delete any back links just because of a low DA/PA score unless they are malicious or banned sites with a penalty of some sort.
2. Creating a great experience with relevant content is great advice, however that alone without backlinks is not going to do much to raise your rankings on it's own. You do need some sort of quality back linking plan of action to spread the word and get your great content linked to.
3. What I would add is if you are looking for new back links and thinking about what actual number would be good, I would say any DA/PA above your actual website scores would be a great start. If you website PA is 24, shoot to add links that have a PA of 25 or more where possible. I would not start working on obtaining back links from pages with a lower score. So to answer your specific question I would say a good number would be any number above your website current score.
Note: I would not focus on only this without focusing as well on quality content, site speed, user experience and on site page optimization as well.
Hope that helps,
Joe

Hey Esteban!
OFW12387 makes some great points, but I am not sure if the approach you're referencing in your question is a good plan of action. IMO you should not focus on building links with high or low authority (especially for the purpose of increasing authority). Instead just focus on creating valuable content for your users. The links should and will develop naturally once you implement this course of action. Focusing on DA & PA is a losing game and a waste of your time since it is ultimately out of your control. Focus on doing things clean and for the best interests of your site visitors.
Unless you discover that there are malicious or toxic links pointing to your site, you should leave them be and focus on new content that provides value. Just keep it simple. I think you may be doing TOO much.
Hope this helps!!

I will not remove backlinks just because they have a low DA value. Variety on your link profile is very important
And about your question, difficult to say since it will always depends in which niche you want to rank, for example, if you want to rank in domains/flights niche, you will need a huge authority ( almost impossible ).
That´s why it´s important to analize the competence of a niche very good before starting with a project
Hope this helps

Fixing broken links from old domain
Howdy Mozfans, I am fixing some broken links and I was wondering if someone could help me out. Multiple old domains (www.olddomain1.com, www.olddomain2.com and so on) have been migrated to www.currentdomain.com/olddomain1 and www.currentdomain.com/olddomain2 over a year ago. The old domains redirect to the current domain but we found that a lot of those were redirecting to 404 pages at the current domain. We now redirected all URL’s that were on the old domains correctly. Will those redirects ever get indexed (and passing linkjuice) since the old domains haven’t been used for such a long time? If not, would it be a good idea to redirect the 404 pages on the current domain (that were a result of the previous redirects)? Thanks in advance!

Bad Links to New Domain - Do I Disavow?
About 2 months ago a new client of mine bought a domain and we built him a nice new site; however, it appears the previous owner of the domain used some spammy SEO tactics. I've had to redirect about 30 pages and now I've found some spammy links. I've only discovered a few of them, but he doesn't have that many links yet so I'm wondering what kind of impact this will have. Is it worth disavowing a half dozen links? The sites are in Chinese and appear to be unmanaged link farms so getting the webmaster to remove them is unlikely. Also wondering what else is lurking out there that I haven't discovered yet... I suggested to the client we consider a different domain since the site is new, but he's become pretty attached to it. Any ideas?

Are followed links from these high authority domains any good?
Hi Mozzers, I have a link building question, in 2 parts. I am in the UK. We have a large local directory network over here which involves some high authority national news domains. Basically, you get a citation for free but if you go "featured" as well as the benefit of being returned top for keyword searches in the directories, buried under a tab on your page are deep links to your website, and they are followed. What are the risks/benefits of this? Are followed links from other high authority domains like Visual.ly and Behance worth it? They are easy to get and I've always believed an easy link usually isn't a good link. Thanks in advance!

What is a good ratio of total links to linking root domains?
Is 100 total links for every linking domain too high? I suppose I could also look at ratios of sites that are doing well in the rankings.

Anyone have Free Directories with High Domain Authority they'd like to share?
I was just curious if anyone had any directories they'd like to share that carry high Domain Authority(imo: 70+)? I know about dmoz.org and Pegasus but other than that, none. Thanks.

Relevance or Authority for Links
Which one do you weigh more than the other? I prefer high-authority sites over low-authority but relevant sites/pages personally. From my experience, non-relevant'authoritative' websites/pages tend to have a bigger impact than 'relevant' websites/pages. What do you think? What is your experience?

Links per Site vs. Domain Authority
Here's a quaint one: 1. Posting follow links on another site helps increase one's domain authority. 2. If I post to the same site/forum with followed links each week, would my domain authority reap a domain authority increase benefit? In short, is there any domain authority benefit to continually post links to a site to which I've already posted a follow link?
