    Hi there, we have a lot of customers linking to our homepage from a subdomain of our domain or from an external domain. From SEO point of view is it best that they all only have one DoFollow Link and the rest of the links are NoFollow? Or does this have no matter at all? The problem is that we have like 900.000 links but only from round about 1000 different root domains. If we put like half of the links on NoFollow our ratio of links/ different root domains gets better. Thanks for answering! Sebastian

    Roughly one week ago I went pro, and then I created a campaing for the smallish webshop that I'm employed at, however it doesn't seem to crawl. I've check our visitors log and while we find other bots such as google, bing, yandex and so fourth, seomoz bot hasn't been visible. Perhaps I'm looking for a normal useragent, ohwell, onwards. While I thought it might take time, as a small test I added a domain that I've owned for sometime but don't really use, that target site is only 17 pages, now this site was crawled almost within the hour, and I realised that our ~5000pages on the main campaing would take some time, but wouldn't the initial 250 pages be crawled by now? I should add, that I didn't add http:// to the original Campaing, but the one that got crawled I did. I cannot seem to change this myself inorder to spot if that's the problem or not. Anyone has any ideas, should I just wait or is there something I can activly do to force it to start rolling?

    Why not allow me to click on the individual 404 errors in the 4XX (Client Error) report and allow me to actually see the where the broken links are coming from (as a hyperlinked url) so I can locate/click and fix them?  Providing the referring url w/hyperlink will stop me from having to jump between the report and searching in site explorer, or downloading the complete error report and sorting.

    Our service at fotograf.de is a shopsystem for professional photographers. The customers can build their own website with our tool including an onlineshop to sell their pictures. Here is my question: One part of the customers use subdomains of our site like photographers.fotograf.de. On each customer website we include a backlink to our homepage www.fotograf.de. From SEO view is it better to set these links as NoFollow Links? Or should we put one Follow Link on the starting page on each site and on the other pages only NoFollow Link? Are these links bad for our SEO regarding link diversity because they all come from one root domain? Thanks for the answers! Sebastian

    I know our business listed in Yahoo and medranks.com (for example). But my open site explorer report doesn't show those links on the inbound report. however on their respective sites, I see the listing when I search for us. And the link does work..... Why is this? Why don't I see it on the open site report?

    Hey everyone, I wanted to highlight today's blog post in case you missed it. In short, we're using a different algorithm to detect duplicate pages. http://moz.com/blog/visualizing-duplicate-web-pages If you see a change in your crawl results and you haven't done anything, this is probably why. Here's more information taken directly from the post: 1. Fewer duplicate page errors: a general decrease in the number of reported duplicate page errors. However, it bears pointing out that: **We may still miss some near-duplicates. **Like the current heuristic, only a subset of the near-duplicate pages is reported. **Completely identical pages will still be reported. **Two pages that are completely identical will have the same simhash value, and thus a difference of zero as measured by the simhash heuristic. So, all completely identical pages will still be reported. 2. Speed, speed, speed: The simhash heuristic detects duplicates and near-duplicates approximately 30 times faster than the legacy fingerprints code. This means that soon, no crawl will spend more than a day working its way through post-crawl processing, which will facilitate significantly faster delivery of results for large crawls.

    I've just upgraded from a PRO to a PRO PLUS account (as if I need more caffine!) and wondered if it were possible to change the order of the campaigns? They seem to be in alphabetical order - which is no problem, but I'm not actually running all the campaigns - I'm only monitoring a few potential sites, so don't want to see them at the top? it's only a niggle, not a gripe, but wondered it it were possible - or if not, can I show more than 5 campaigns at once rather than scrolling. As always, thanks in advance. G.

    If I have a section on my website called lists with articles in there can I use wildcards in Open Site Explorer to find how many backlinks all articles in that section have - and ideally which pages are most linked to? Something like www.example.com/lists/* to give number of backlinks to all articles in that website section and which are the most highly linked to. Would be a great feature to have! Cheers Siimon

    Crawl results lag so far behind as to be of questionable value for corrective purposes, and in the fast-paced world of SEO, the service seems right out of the horse-and-buggy era..  I corrected crawl errors two weeks ago, and yet SEOMoz' crawls are still not reflecting this.  Furthermore, SEOMoz' idea of where my keywords rank has little to no bearing on reality.  I am really disenchanted, and thinking of cancelling my subscription.

    Had a quick look around and can't find anything relating to this. We are doing really well with our universal placements, google places etc. SEOMoz used to recognise them, but now I have no universal placements according to SEOMoz, though they are clearly all still doing well. But in the program, or problem with the data? Thanks Marc

    Because the rank checker on SEOMOZ is temporarily down for upgrade,  I followed the link over to the other suggested rank checker on seobook.com which installs a plug-in to Firefox and it seems to be working fine….BUT my question is when I check out my two highest traffic keywords which are “Whitby holiday cottages” and “Whitby cottages” against my website www.endeavourcottage.co.uk it tells me I'm ranking position 2 on both Google.com and Google.co.uk but I don't think I am. When I do the same check using a proxy server called hidemyass.com to check my rankings again on Google.co.uk and .com I appeared to be lower down the rankings like position 8. Does anyone have any idea of which is the accurate reference to my rankings? What do you do to check your rankings ? And one last quick secondary question is when I searching Google chrome using same key words again I come at the top position A on the Google maps listing but using Firefox or Internet Explorer there is no Google maps visible ways that? At the end of the day out rankings are important but where are working towards more traffic...... Cheers

    I've been carefully making page corrections and trying to get each age in line with SEOMoz recommendations. However, under the section marked Optional (and I realise I could just ignore it!) it tells me to "Avoid Using Meta Keywords Tag". However, none of the pages have any meta keywords in. They have a meta description, but no keywords. I have also removed any global keywords.     Hello Guys, I have just started to use SEOMOZ and I am trying as much as possible to follow the advise from the initial scan and suggestions I received from SEOMOZ. However, it appears that the first changes I made has somehow made my website to disappear on Google and other search engines. Canonicalization The first changes I made was "Canonicalization" of my domain name (redirecting to a single dominant version) from the instructions here: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/canonicalization. So I redirected and changed my domain name from "domainname.com" to "www.domainname.com" I did check my listing in Google before these updates and Google have my website down as "www.domainname.com" My keywords that were previously performing well before these recent updates have now disappeared which is causing me some great level of frustration and I am really not sure weather to continue with the instructions from SEOMOZ or not. However, it could be that I am being impatient or checking too soon. I'd appreciate some form of advise on what to do? Many thanks.

    How can i export a historical ranking report which contains keywords with special characters? Previously it only turned the keywords into jumbled format (forgot the tech term) in excel i.e. Ð¾Ð½Ð»Ð°Ð¹Ð½ чат which are in this case russian characters. The way i got around this was to import it into google docs but that also is now converting it into this format. Due to this i 1 do not know what the keywords are and 2 all my formulas do not work.

    I have had Seomoz for about a month. It has crawled about 1000 pages. I have about 10,000 pages total for the site. Why are these others being a problem? I have contacted help but the guy isn't any help, we have just been going back and forth for the last two weeks. Any suggestions?

    It seems that my keywords that lead to videoresults in SERP, is not being ranked on Seomoz! How come when i rank #3 on a certain keyword with a videoresult Seomoz is displaying me as #15 (which is the second of my pages in SERP)? What is the reason for not counting the video-result in the ranking-tool?

    I'm new to SEO and SEOMoz.  While setting up my campaigns, I was a bit confused. Do I need to setup separate campaigns for different pages of my site? For example, I run a proofreading service: www.kibin.com I obviously want to track keyword on the main page (like proofreading service), however, I also want to track keywords (like 'essay editing') on www.kibin.com/essay-editing Should these be two separate campaigns or do I just put all the keywords into one campaign for kibin.com?     When I run a report on OSE checking for linking root domains, the number is always different from the number of root domain links that the SEOMoz bar shows in Chrome. For example on OSE a site shows 88 root domain links, but in the SEOMoz bar, it shows 110 root domain links. I've tested this issue with several sites and there is always a discrepancy in the number of root domain links. Does anyone know which one is actually correct and why this might be happening? Thanks.

    I've been analyzing some IT communities ...in order to check how relevant is the page authority vs PageRank. I found one main site which is organized by "communities'..and every community is a sub-domain. The root domain has an authority of 90/100 which it should be great......so the sub-domains "inherit" part of this authority.... Until here everything seems to be perfect. However, I went deeper and I picked one of these communities. Analyzing the "Linking Root Domain" I discovered it only has only 5 root domains pointing to its home page. Those 5 Root Domains have generated more than 134k links. That doesn't seem to be "natural". Checking those 5 Root Domains I discovered that they have been registered by the same Root Domain site. Ex: Main domain: Domain.com Community1.domain.com Community2.domain.com.... Linking Root Domains:    DomainXY.com DomainABC.com DomainRST.com DomainFGH.com DomainOPQ.com It seems to me that it is easy to cheat  the authority domain score. Just creating others sites developing the same topic and generating back links to your main domain

    I've justed signed up for SEOMOZ and testing out the ranking report software. For a client that I'm doing an audit for I've ran a ranking report against the keywords. Using Chrome Incognito I've checked the ranking and they are on the 1st page but the ranking report is showing they aren't in the top 43, any ideas why this might be? I've checked my setting and set up and that's all fine.

    The dashboard works great, but the time to get a link to respond in the Q&A forum is painful. I am on a 15Mb connection and have an SSD hard drive. It is only this site that is slow. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or are you all very patient?

    I signed up for seomoz pro hoping to get some insight as to why my website selftherapy.org has virtually disappeared from google, but all the site reports I've run look fine. Are there any resources that might help here? I suspect that an seo company's low quality link campaign may have hurt me, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know of a method of locating low quality / harmful links?

    My website bayjobs.com has done well for years, then virtually disappeared from google on September 28, which is the day of the emd (exact match domain) penalty. Meanwhile, similar sites like bajobs.com and bayareajobfinder.com have fared just fine for keywords "bay area jobs". I was previously around #5 for those keywords, but now not even in top 200. Does anyone have any solution for this? Thanks for any insight!

    Can anyone advise on what is the best way to optimise the home page? Many websites I see include the target(focus) keywords from other pages on the home page. Is this self competition? "Avoid Keyword Self-Cannibalization- It's a best practice in SEO to target each keyword with a single page on your site" If an e-commerce website has 4 levels in the SEO architecture. Home Page, Brand Pages(Category), Range pages(sub-category) and individual product pages. It would seem that the main keywords would be within the category(brands) level of a website. However many websites I see include these on the home page as well. Could someone please clarify this? I do not recall seeing the report card saying Self-Cannibalization when these keywords(category level) are listed on the home page. However I could be wrong, Please could someone advise on what SEO MOZs recommendations are for best practise on optimizing a home page so that it does not compete with category pages, or other pages on the website. Thanks

    I am really disappointed with the "return on investment" I am getting from being a Pro member and using Open Site Explorer to analyze and remedy my inbound links post-penguin. My site has been crawled for over 4 months now by seomoz and OSE reprots that I have "external links" from just 25 or so domains  -  whereas Google webmaster tools has accurately identified well over 270 domains that link back to my site. How can do any sort of link removal strategy using open site explorer?  I am paying $100/mo for  SEomoz, and nothing for Google. What is the problem?

    Hiya experts, I am trying to understand the OSE. One thing I noticed is that OSE shows 12 linking root domains to our site. However, google webmasters show more than 90(that have kinks to pages on our site). And these are not new links, some of these date back to Apr 2011. Is there something very obvious I am missing here? Thanks for your help. Regards, Raman.

    So as I pour though some of the diagnostics data for over 100,000 pages of my site I see thousands of page title that "could" be changed. Could this cause some lost traffic for a while due to the big changes?
