@Miradoro what would you like to track?

If you have Google Search Console set up for that domain it should be fairly easy to export data on clicks, impressions, CTR and average position.

You could then filter this data by subfolder and create visualisations like graphs if you needed.

You could see a quick overview of what's happening on each subfolder by adding a filter in GSC. Navigate to Performance > Search results > new > page... then filter by 'URLs containing' /de/en_uk

On a related note, I assume from these subfolders that you're targeting English and German speakers in Germany and Austria?

Have you got hreflang tags set up correctly? If not, this would be highly recommended to help avoid content duplication issues.

        Cheers,
        Stefan

How can i track performance metrics for a group of subdirectories

There are a few ways to track SEO performance metrics for a group of subdirectories:

Use a website analytics tool: Google Analytics is a popular choice and it can be configured to track specific subdirectories. By creating a custom segment or filter, you can monitor the traffic and behavior of users on the subdirectories.

Use a rank tracking tool: There are many tools available that allow you to track the search engine rankings of specific pages or subdirectories. This can help you see how your subdirectories are performing in the search results over time.

Use a backlink analysis tool: This tools can be used to track the number of backlinks pointing to specific subdirectories. This can give you an idea of the authority and popularity of the subdirectories.

Track the performance of specific landing pages: By monitoring the performance of specific landing pages within the subdirectories, you can gain insight into how well the subdirectories are performing in terms of conversion rate, bounce rate, and other metrics.

Use Google Search Console: GSC allow you to track your website's performance in Google Search, you can see which pages are getting impressions and clicks, track your website's average position, and monitor your website's click-through rate.

All of these tools will give you different insights, so it's a good idea to use a combination of them to get a comprehensive view of your subdirectories' performance.

Who is correct - please help!

seo tactics noindex google search seo rankings

I have a website with a lot of product pages - often thousands of pages. As each of these pages is for a specific lease car they are often only fractionally different from other pages. The urls are too long, the H1 is often too long and the Title is often too long for "SEO best practice". And they do create duplication issues according to MOZ. Some people tell me to change them to noindex/nofollow whilst others tell me to leave them as they are as best not to hide from google crawler. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks for listening.

What are the SEO ramifications of domain redirection?

                redirecting domain seo tactic

Hi Moz Community! I was just trying to set up our global site and got this message: "Redirect detected
We have detected that the domain bhaktimarga.org redirects to prodfront-coli.bhaktimarga.mediactive-network.net. We do not recommend tracking a redirect URL. Would you like to track prodfront-coli.bhaktimarga.mediactive-network.net for this campaign instead?"
6358703c-d8ef-4c0a-83a9-c948d370d743-image.png What's interesting is when you go to the site, Bhaktimarga.org, it shows our domain in the URL bar. Is this done for performance and masks the hosting provider domain? I haven't talked to website developers about this yet, but my main question is...Does this have any SEO ramification? Thanks so much,
                Padma

English pages given preference over local language

                seo seo rankings rankings google

We recently launched a new design of our website and for SEO purposes we decided to have our website both in English and in Dutch. However, when I look at the rankings in MOZ for many of our keywords, it seems the English pages are being preferred over the Dutch ones. That never used to be the case when we had our website in the old design. It mainly is for pages that have an English keyword attached to them, but even then the Dutch page would just rank. I'm trying to figure out why English pages are being preferred now and whether that could actually damage our rankings, as search engines would prefer copy in the local language. An example is this page: https://www.bluebillywig.com/nl/html5-video-player/ for the keywords "HTML5 player" and "HTML5 video player".

Bringing on a handful of established clients that have never focused on SEO. Needless to say, they will be starting past page 5 on many items. What is the best tactic to figure out their ranking, determine progress internally and also provide movement reports when they are past the five page limit?

Collections or blog posts for Shopify ecommerce seo?

                shopify ecommerce seo

Hi, hope you guys can help as I am going down a rabbit hole with this one! We have a solid-ranking sports nutrition site and are building a new SEO keyword strategy on our Shopify built store. We are using collections (categories) for much of the key product-based seo. This is because, as we understand it, Google prioritises collection/category pages over product pages. Should we then build additional collection pages to rank for secondary product search terms that could fit a collection page structure (eg 'vegan sports nutrition'), or should we use blog posts to do this? We have a quality blog with good unique content and reasonable domain authority so both options are open to us. But while the collection/category option may be best for SEO, too many collections/categories could upset our UX. We have a very small product range (10 products) so want to keep navigation fast and easy. Our 7 lead keyword collection pages do this already. More run the risk of upsetting ease/speed of site navigation. On the other hand, conversion rate from collection pages is historically much better than blog pages. We have made major technical upgrades to the blog to improve this but these are yet to be tested in anger. So at the heart of it all - do you guys recommend favouring blog posts or collection/category pages for secondary high sales intent keywords? All help gratefully received - thanks!
