Express Update Error: Phone Call Verification Looping
-
In the latter half of the year I've noticed some changes with Express Update. When I get to the phone call verification point, everything works fine. The call goes through, I get the code on my screen and input it. However, what I've noticed is that the voice prompt says everything is complete, but on the screen it doesn't go to the dashboard. It loops back to the phone call verification phase.
Every time I've had this issue, which is about 6 - 7 times now, I send an email to Infogroup and they tell me to customer support. Each time they tell me that their system has a bug. Express Update has not worked for almost 6 months now. The person helping me will always ask if I'm an SEO company. If you say yes, they will start pushing a new package.
I'm just checking if anyone else has had this issue. I'm not sure if this is how they are vetting SEO companies. I'd like to make the phone call verification process easier.

Hi Jason,
While I've not personally experienced this bug, I can imagine how frustrating it is! I think it's issues just like this one that have contributed to the popularity and rise of paid location data management services (like Moz Local, Whitespark, etc.). The days of spending hours banging one's head against a monitor over a single citation source are, fortunately, numbered, due to the emergence of these tools which resolve most (though not all) verification problems.
I wish I had a solution for you. You'll likely just have to keep phoning customer service until you can get someone to understand how irritating this bug is. Or, if you've run out of patience with the issue, consider the alternatives to manual management.

Google Business Listing Verification for Unmarked Facilities
We have been trying for over a year to get Google My Business listing verification on our facilities, which are separate from our company HQ. We have 31 facilities around the world that do not have business signs on them. We have tried sending postcards and are told that no one is receiving them. The folks who receive the mail are guards and it's tricky to ensure they field them. This has been an ongoing challenge as Google says that the alternate method requires a business sign located next to the building number, which we don't have. What do you recommend we do to get listed in GMB?

Call Rail and NAP
Hello- My company has multiple physical locations, but one central toll free admissions line. We have CallRail to track where calls are coming from, however, I am nervous about the dynamic tracking numbers and how I approach NAP. Even if I set up a different toll free number for each of our 9 locations (which would ultimately route to one toll free number), how would I track where the calls were coming from (GMB, website, facebook, etc) without adding more dynamic tracking numbers? We've had calls with CallRail reps, but no one can give us an explanation. My question is how exactly do I approach CallRail with multiple locations and one main toll-free number to make sure we don't mess up NAP? Are there any CallRail experts out there that can tell me exactly what to do in our specific situation? Thank you so much in advance!

4 shared locations - 1 phone number - legacy GMB - HELP!!!
I have a friend who is a dietician and has the following issue with his business He works in 4 different locations across town- Each location is shared with other practitioners. - he uses the same phone number for each location (free 0800 UK number)- he has legacy google places profiles for some locations with some reviews he'd like to keep and other locations he'd like to delete. He'd like to be present on page 1 of google for terms like dietician in "name of location he works in"I am clearly concerned about his NAP profile since he only has 1 phone number for all locations. The address of each location can clash with other practitioners working there who have already registered a GMB profile using the same addresses although there might be the possibility of using something like "suite x" to differentiate his business in the address. Can anybody advice on how they would approach this one please. Thanks

Local SEO Strategy after Pigeon update.
We are a local web design agency and well ranked with several local city level keywords. Now we want to spread out our services to near by cities. What's the best way to do that? Example: We've already ranked for "web design new york". Now how can we rank our site with "web design in Washington" and "web design in California"? Note: We've good DA and PA (above 60) along with higher Trust Rank. But don't have those new keywords on our content.

2 businesses same phone number
I was wondering how I should approach a scenario where I am optimizing two different companies websites that have the same phone number but different addresses. This sounds like a weird scenario, however it is out of my control. Is treating them as two separate companies fine, or do I have to take special precautions when submitting business directories and what not? Thanks for everyone's help! As a side note, is their a way to use Moz Local with both companies, right now it is getting confused as to what business belongs to what listing.

Different phone numbers in local listings
We are setting up Google My Business for a client who has multiple locations around the country. They use different phone numbers to track enquiries from different sources - Yell, Google+, Direct Web Traffic, PPC etc. Therefore the phone numbers can be different between Google My Business and local listings. How much does/would this affect the Local listing? It may appear that Google is penalising for businesses try to understand their customers and where they come from!

Does anybody have any data on what percentage of people actually click on a Google Places / Google+ listing VS call the business direct from the SERPs?
I've had a few SMB clients who have experienced drops in website traffic once their Google Places listing has gone live. It's hard for the average SMB to understand that this may not be a bad thing because they actually may be received more leads direct from the local SERPs. So while I can try to explain this to my clients, it'd be nice to have some broad data on how searchers interact with Google local listings. I'd love to learn what percentage of people call direct from the SERPs instead of clicking through to the business' website link. Obviously, the percentages would vary across different verticals, different devices & depending on whether the search query was branded or non-branded. I'm after some rough average data, so if anyone could point me in the right direction, that'd be great! 🙂

Yahoo Local Basic Listing Verifications Failing
Hey everyone, Over the last few weeks Yahoo Local's Basic Listings have been failing left and right for me. When working to verify a business listing, I have been trying the phone, snail mail and email verifications specifically, and am 100% sure I've been inputting the correct code, yet no matter how many attempts I make, I get the following error: http://i.imgur.com/pJ7ggBx.jpg This is for multiple accounts, not just a single instance. Seems Yahoo's just got an unfixed, prevalent bug. I've reached out to their Support for information, but they have been unresponsive. Anyone else running into this issue?
