Redirect Issue - Drop in ranking after CMS change

Hi Website - https://www.aasprint.com.au/ After we moved the site from wordpress to codeIgniter + angular there has been a huge drop in traffic and ranking. One of the thing we recently realized is the redirection - COULD THAT BE THE ISSUE? On the browser and sitemap the URL doesn't have "/" at the end When checked on redirection tool the URL seems to be redirecting to one with "/" at the end Attached are the screenshots. Also moz bar shows no redirection. However, the issue seems to be flagged by the site audit tool as 301 redirection. Not sure if it's the cause for the drop. What action to take? How to optimise 2 (almost) identical ecommerce pages

I have an ecommerce site selling only 1 product on subscription. However, I want to offer a free trial of the product on 1 page, and a buy it now on the other, thus 2 pages, but selling exactly the same product. I also thought it would give me the opportunity to rank both pages for separate keywords? Will this strategy work, or should I just look at combining both of these pages into 1 ? Gradual roll out of new webpages on temporary subdomain

I’m working for a company who is looking to gradually replace an existing website with a new website. They will replace the homepage, then a section, then another section, and so on, until the new site is complete. All new pages will sit on a temporary subdomain. So, for example, the URL for the homepage at the moment is www.domain.com, but as soon as the new homepage is ready, that will be launched on a temporary URL / subdomain - www2.domain.com - replacing the old homepage. The new pages will then gradually increase on www2.domain.com (so journeys will inevitably move across domains) until the whole of the new website is ready on www2.domain.com - at which point it will move on to www.domain.com. I know this isn’t a good way of doing things - I would much prefer the new site is completely built and then it just replaces the old site with the necessary 301 redirects in place - but the company wants to see the gradual roll out of new page designs. So, my question is, what’s the best way to manage this without negatively impacting rankings for the existing domain (www.domain.com)?

Is it possible to reverse a G algo update (Penguin/Panda)?

...if yes, how? Can you share resources / blogs / etc... I want to reverse my site's rankings. Here's the gist of it: I recently purchased a website that has 600+ pieces of aged content on it. Domain was ranking great about 10 years ago (1M uniques a year) It apparently got hit by a G algo update in 2012/2013 (Penguin and Panda?), because the rankings have tanked (10 hits a day) In the past two years, the previosu owner published about 100+ off-topic blog posts and it appears been using the site as a PBN. The UX sucks and there's a ton of 404s. (NOTE: I am in the process of removing that content and have cleaned up the 404s). Domain stats: 20+ years old (1998) and DA 32, linking domains 850+, inbound links of 16k+ What I've done: disavow (550 domains), fix all the 404s What I'm doing / about to do: remove spammy content write new/fresh on-topic content update the site UX start a backlink building campaign My questions: is it common to bounce back from a G algo update? is it hard / am I over my head / am I a sucker trying to get the site back alive? are there articles about bouncing back that you can share so I can learn more about this process? Or agencies / consultants, etc that you recommend? what other recommendations / suggestions do you have that would help reverse this 8-year-old penalty?

Feature Request - Consolidated Ranking "Watchlist"

Working across several campaigns I track a lot of different keywords. Not all of these keywords receive the same level of attention from me all at the same time. At the moment I use a label of "Watchlist" to track the most important keyword terms, but the limitation of this is I have to check each account separately. It might be nice and useful to have a consolidated watchlist of important keyword terms which spans across all accounts, so I can quickly see at a glance the snapshot of those most important keywords.

Position zero rank tracking

Does Moz track position 0, if yes then at what position? I have some of keywords for our website are appearing in featured snippet and Moz showing them ranking at #51+. In starting it seems I assume it's a ranking fluctuation but this is there from quite a long time and still showing same results.

Hi, i would like to ask - whether the trailing slashes mandatory for the website. Wrong domain name showing in the SERP

I work with Axos Bank, and the domain name in the SERP started showing axos-services.com a couple of weeks ago. *As a test, search for [axos bank] in Google. You may need to click on "Search instead for axos bank" under "Showing results for axis bank" which is a whole separate issue we want to resolve. They do own axos-services.com, and it redirects to axosbank.com (along with a number of other domains). The SERP has always shown axosbank.com until recently, but the redirect has been in place for some time. Any idea why and how to prompt Google to show the correct domain? Thanks, all!

Can I replace categories with a static page

Hello there. I want to replace all of WordPress categories with static pages so that users see a well designed and constructed presentation of all the articles within each topic instead of just a long list of excerpts. I've already done this with 2 categories and although it is hard work I can't help feeling it is a much better thing for my users. However, I'm concerned that I am embarking on this project without being totally sure that it makes sense from an Seo point of view, or whether there are any downsides I haven't thought of? My idea is that the WordPress categories are set to noindex and nofollow. Search engines should find all of my static category pages and all of the content within each category will be spidered from there instead. Just to be sure you know what I mean here is a link to a normal category - https://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/category/consumer/ and here is my static page replacement for it - https://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/consumer-rights-appliances/ Both pages contain links to all articles within the category except the one generated by WordPress is just a long paginated list, and my replacement is a proper category page, which is hopefully far more useful . Schema Markup Doesn't Make Any Sense!! Help Please

Hey again Moz community! I've been trying to read up on schema markup and watch videos multiple times (!) but I can't understand how it works. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can answer these questions: Do I need to ‘markup’ every part of the article? Like “this section can be FAQ snippet, and this can also FAQ etc..". So I guess my question is how detailed does the markup have to be? What are the best tools to use for schema markup for wordpress? What are the best tools to use for schema markup for react web-app? The https://search.google.com/test/rich-results shows if the markup is good for a page, but it doesn’t provide any details. For some articles it says that sitelinks searchbox is detected but that’s only one type of snippet possibility? URLs dropping from index (Crawled, currently not indexed)

I've noticed that some of our URLs have recently dropped completely out of Google's index. When carrying out a URL inspection in GSC, it comes up with 'Crawled, currently not indexed'. Strangely, I've also noticed that under referring page it says 'None detected', which is definitely not the case. Updating url name of a key page

One of my key pages has a url name that is completely non descriptive ('About') with no keywords in it that match the important content on that page. Should I create a new page with a proper url name and move the contents there (lose the authority of the current page), or create the url name only and redirect to the existing About page?

Domain

hello there, I have a 12 years old domain with 35pa and similar domain authority pointed to my hosting which I will call domain A. in December 2020 I will lose the control domain A, as the person controlling the domain died and trying to find a solution but is not possible as it's far more complicated than I anticipated, the domain might be retained by someone else and not me. so I purchased a new domain I will call Domain B. my plan is to serve the info hosted from both domains but B as a principal, I think I can do a 301 in domain A but i wish still be visible in the URL until last minute. but i want to start to pass as soon as possible all the link juice. my problems is how can i serve the content from both domains without creating a 301 but and still be able passing juice link from A to B? is this possible? and from google getting all the indexation for Domain B. bot not for A

Special Characters in Negative Keywords in Ads

Howdy, fellow mozzers, I came across this weird suggestion in my Bing account (screenshot link: https://dmitrii-regexseo.tinytake.com/tt/NDY3OTc5NF8xNDgyMzY4OA) It almost that the dollar sign in the negative keyword is acting like a wildcard character, or being disregarded completely. I did some tests, it seems that in Google Ads that is not happening. Does anyone have an idea if this is normal behavior? I have never seen this before.

What is the best practice way to attribute a Google Review?

An example might be a local directory site, where multiple businesses are featured. To flesh out the respective business profiles, Google Reviews are included. Copying/pasting would be the definition of duplicate content. I wonder though if hyperlinking to the review itself would be enough? For a random example: "you literally have never had better ice cream. cutest shop in charleston sc" - Mandee Jalbert, Google Review Google doesn't appear to have a review embed option- am I wrong? If not, would the above attribution via the "Google Review" hyperlink be sufficient to head off any potential dings for duplicate content? Thanks! Stephen

About DA of the Website

Hi There, I would like to know why one of my website - https://patnalocalguide.com Domain Authority is not improving. It is not going up and down but it is maintaining its score between 10 since last 5 months. Not going above 10 or below. Why is it so? Update in Domain Authority

Hi Team, I see that the Domain Authority for our web domain (www.se.com) remains unchanged since last 6-7 months.Even though we have been putting in focus on Link building, Cleaning our association with Toxic links, build internal links, and updating internal content. Also i see that the sitiuation remains same for many of the Cometitor websites like ww.siemens.com, www.ge.com, www.rockwellautomation.com with unchanged DA since last several months. Surge in spammy links

Hi, Our website www.foodjet.com has recently seen a huge amount of spammy incoming links to non-exisiting URLS: They all target pages that lead to a 404 and which clearly do not exist on our website. Since they have started to appear our DA has plummeted. I have already disavowed some domains, but more re-appear just as fast. I have also checked if our site has been hacked, which does not seem to be the case. What am I missing? And/or what can I do?

Refering URL Does Not Exist

I'm getting 250 or so 401 errors which says the refering Url is: https://www.carburetor-parts.com/assets/manuals/Carter_ThermoQuad_Carburetor.pdf Interesting that the file does not exist. Domain Analysis Limit

Hello, even though we are a Moz Pro user we have a 'part-timer' who keeps the client metrics scoreboard up to date. Rather than have him running wild in Moz Pro we bookmarked the 'Domain Analysis' page and he knows that only 3 can be reported on per day. If it was an immediate need then we would use Moz-Pro. The issue was reported to me that he is receiving 'Search Limit reached' and do a moz-pro trial. So, has the 3 per day limit been changed? Thanks, Dave

Traffic drop after hreflang tags added

We operate one company with two websites each serving a different location, one targeting EU customers and the other targeting US customers. thespacecollective.com (EU customers) thespacecollective.com/us/ (US customers) We have always had canonical tags in place, but we added the following hreflang tags two weeks ago (apparently this is best practice); EU site (thespacecollective.com) US site (thespacecollective.com/us/) Literally the same day we added the above hreflang tags our traffic dropped off a cliff (we have lost around 70-80% on the EU site, and after a minor recovery, 50% on the US site). Now, my first instinct is to remove the tags entirely and go back to just using canonical, but if this is truly best practice, that could do more damage than good. This is the only change that has been made in recent weeks regarding SEO. Is there something obvious that I am missing because it looks correct to me?

How to deal with product mark up automatically generated by Yoast?

Let's assume there's a website for nursery. Now they have listed plants and trees as their product now yoast is generating product structured data because of that search console is reporting errors in markup says "Either "offers", "review", or "aggregateRating" should be specified" Reviews can be fixed because of genuine reviews and ratings but trees doesn't have sku, gtin8, gtin13, gtin14 or mpn" so we can't add this information. Because of this every product listing shows an error in structured data. Alt Text for Interior Design / Architecture Firm

I'm looking to update the alt text on my company's website to increase traffic and qualified leads. I've done some research on my own, but the alt-text examples i find are really simple and pertain more to ecommerce (i.e. leather boat shoe). We're an archteicture and interior design firm so we sell our design services. One of our goals is to get more projects in florida. I understand the best way to do alt-text is to describe the photo in as much detail as possible. But would it also help to plug in our services?
