301 Redirect chain

I've got a redirect chain happening
http > https> https.www.

I can't find how to fix this one. My site is on siteground which forces the https at server level and then onto cloudflare.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've been on at them for this and they don't seem to understand the problem with a chain. It ends up on the right page doesn't it is the answer lol.
I've looked at my htaccess for this and cant find the culprit. The server forces HTTPS but not HTTPS://WWW.

Depending on what your sire provider allows, this may be tricky.

Ideally you'd update the server level rule to point directly to the end URL form (https://www.).

Technical SEO question regarding redirects; I appreciate any insights on best way to handle. Situation: We're decommissioning several major content sections on a website, comprising ~18k webpages. This is a well established site (10+ years) and many of the pages within these sections have high-quality inbound links from .orgs and .edus. Challenge: We're trying to determine the best place to redirect these 18k pages. For user experience, we believe best option is the homepage, which has a statement about the changes to the site and links to the most important remaining sections of the site. It's also the most important page on site, so the bolster of 301 redirected links doesn't seem bad. However, someone on our team is concerned that that many new redirected pages and links going to our homepage will trigger a negative SEO flag for the homepage, and recommends instead that they all go to our custom 404 page (which also includes links to important remaining sections). What's the right approach here to preserve remaining SEO value of these soon-to-be-redirected pages without triggering Google penalties?

How to handle SEO redirection after remove www

www to non www redirect chain classified website

Recently our https://bestclassifiedsusa.com free classifieds USA website we move from www to non www format. Now old urls still showing in Google SERP. When click they show 404 error pages due to removed old ads.
We redirect www to non www version for main domain but still old cache pages affected.
How to dynamically handle this case, all old www version ads pages auto redirect to relevant category pages?

301 and the base URL

Hi, please bear with me as I'm pretty new to all this! I've my base URL but obviously want to add keywords to it for seo purposes. Should I redirect from the base URL to the URL with the keywords appended? So my landing page goes from say www.moz.com to www.moz.com/keywords-here. If I do that, should I replicate all the meta data (descriptions etc) on the original landing page? Or does it not matter? Thanks, Nick

Alot of 302 Redirects, what to do?

I'm currently auditing my companies website, and we encountered thousands of 302 redirects. The 302 pages are products page, which is a question and answer module at the bottom of each products page. What best practice should I do to get rid of the 302 redirects? add those pages to the .robots.txt? Or do individually and add a no index? This would help boost our rankings up correct?

Www no longer redirects

Hi there, A while back I dropped the www from my domain. Everything redirected ok and I could still access my site using www and it would simply redirect to http://mysite This no longer seems to be occurring. I don't think I have changed anything? I don't believe I had anything in my htaccess however I am looking for some assistance in doing so. I've done a bit of reading but am not 100% confident! Site Duplicated despte redirect

When you Google Thakray Medical Museum 2 sites appear in the SERPS, yikes! Now the .org site is no longer hosted & point to the .co.uk site when clicked on but in a nutshell I wantto get rid of the .org site

1: Wembaster tools re index request for the .co.uk site
2: Redirect configured to point .org site to the .co.uk What else is left apart from updating the xml site but ultimating i do not want to see the the .org site but it doesnt exist (well id did a few month back but is no longer hosted so i am told) Any insights welcome,

301 Redirects From a URL without Keyphrases to one With Keyphrases

I have a client that sells services. Each service offered currently has a URL structure like this: www.companyname.com/product/asp$view-id-page3022-item-24 These pages are pretty old, and I would love to have a more user-friendly URL like this: www.companyname.com/product/purple-swatch-watch If I rename the URL and do a 301 redirect, what impact will that have on search? Ideally, this page will be optimized for "purple swatch watch", but the current URL structure is so... well, you know. My apologies if this has been answered before. I tried looking through archived of 301 issues, but lost hope after my first 10 or so attempts at answered didn't help this specific issue.

301 redirects, efficiency and dynamic URLs

Hi, I have 2 301 redirect questions. Question 1: I have am working with a designer on the redesign of a website that currently has over 5,000 indexed pages. The majority of these are dynamic URLs from the Stone Locator database. (see below) http://www.domain.com/storelocator.php?zipcode=91784&page=12 How can I efficiently deal with these pages from an SEO perspective when developing the new site? Is there a way to do a bulk 301 redirect to a store locator page, for instance? Question 2: If a rel=canonical tag has been established on a page (www....), is it necessary to add 301 redirects to all of the other versions on: the home page (domain.com , domain.com/index.html, domain.com/index.html, etc.) all other pages with those same extensions ?
