Organic SEO / Content Marketing
-
Hi,
It would be great if some SEO experts could answer this for us. Suppose a website is brand new. How often should you publish new blog posts on the website?
Publishing, say, every single day or fairly frequently, without the offsite seo being built up first i.e. no backlinks; can this damage the organic SEO?
By publishing too much new written work, and could posting so frequently like everyday look like spam? That’s if though the written work is white hat.
Is there a golden rule to publish say once a month until the website’s offsite backlinks have increased?
Please help, as some clients are pushing for content marketing to be added and written daily, yet this seems too much despite them wanting to pay, it seems like it could cause an over optimisation issue? Could it also damage the long-term SEO efforts? -
@Ryan07 In establishing SEO, posting frequency is not the only key factor; quality and relevance are equally important. While frequent blog posting may be beneficial, if the content is of low quality or irrelevant to the website theme, it may actually have a negative impact on SEO.
-
@Ryan07 You can't say exactly how often you should publish. Write with the goal of helping your readers. If it takes a month, that's okay. Writing weekly just to please Google is not the right approach.
-
We would say, add a piece of really good white hat content marketing, but say only add one blog post every month.

Avoid over-optimization:
Posting frequently without sufficient off-site SEO can be considered over-optimization by search engines. It's important to take a balanced approach to avoid triggering spammy signals.Hi, you wrote the above answer, which we think is a really good answer, would you say we are posting our SEO blog posts too often on our SEO agency website?
-
@AmoriaExperience hi, can you have a look at our blog posts, and tell us how we can improve them? to improve our organic SEO?
-
@MrOSMANI hi, it would be great, if you could advise us if you thing our SEO blog posts are good quality or not? Our organic SEO rankings have dropped this week and we don't know why.
-
@meltingpointgoat this was a really good answer, we had over-optimization issues before with Ryan C Walsh we decided to start Walsh & Partners. we recently started publishing two long blog posts a week, organic rankings have gone down, perhaps just one every week or so be better? The quality of the written work is very high, so we don't understand, perhaps, it be great if you could possibly take look at our blog and if you could give us some feedback we would be so grateful for your expert help. thank you

When developing a new website as I developed Mili Movers for Dubai-based businesses., prioritized quality over quantity. First, try to publish one insightful and thoroughly researched blog post every week. Regular publishing without strong offsite optimization may be interpreted as spam.
-
@Ryan07
For a brand new website, focus on quality over quantity. Initially, aim for one well-researched and valuable blog post per week. Publishing daily without solid offsite SEO could potentially be seen as spammy. Gradually increase frequency as your backlink profile strengthens. Balancing content creation with offsite SEO efforts is crucial to avoid over-optimization and potential long-term SEO damage Check For Reference : https://theshoeinfo.com/ -

How often should you publish new blog posts on the website?
Google's primary concern is the quality and relevance of the content rather than the specific frequency of posting. It's crucial to prioritize creating valuable and informative content for your audience rather than focusing solely on quantity.
That being said, consistency is key. Establishing a regular posting schedule helps to signal to both users and search engines that your website is active and regularly updated. Whether you choose to publish weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, the key is to maintain a schedule that is sustainable for your team while consistently delivering high-quality content.
-
Finding the right balance is crucial for a new website. While frequent content creation is beneficial, it's essential to prioritize quality over quantity, as mentioned, especially in the initial stages. Posting daily without established offsite SEO might not yield the desired results and could potentially be perceived as spammy. Instead, consider a more gradual approach. Start with one or two high-quality posts per week, ensuring they align with your target keywords.
As offsite backlinks increase, you can gradually increase your publishing frequency. This approach avoids potential over-optimization and long-term SEO issues. Communicate this strategy to your clients, emphasizing the importance of a steady, strategic content rollout. Building a strong foundation with quality content and a natural backlink profile will contribute to sustainable organic growth. Patience and a thoughtful content strategy will pay off in the long run.

For new websites, it's important to balance the frequency of blog posts with the need for off-site SEO. Here are some things to consider:
Quality over quantity:
Prioritize quality content over daily frequency. Publishing valuable, well-researched content is more beneficial for his SEO than frequently posting low-quality posts.Offsite SEO Meaning:
Backlinks play an important role in his SEO. Before increasing your publishing frequency, take the time to build off-site SEO through a legitimate backlink strategy. High-quality backlinks positively impact a website's authority.Avoid over-optimization:
Posting frequently without sufficient off-site SEO can be considered over-optimization by search engines. It's important to take a balanced approach to avoid triggering spammy signals.Customer Expectations:
Educate your customers on the importance of a step-by-step content strategy. Even if you want to make a daily donation, explain the potential risks and benefits. We recommend setting realistic expectations to avoid potential problems later.Initial publishing frequency:
Consider starting with a more moderate frequency. B. Gradually increase this weekly or biweekly as your offsite SEO efforts mature. This allows search engines to index and recognize your content without straining it.Monitor Analytics:
Monitor website analytics. Track the performance of your content in terms of user engagement, organic traffic, and bounce rate. Adjust your content strategy based on observed results.Diversify content types:
In addition to blog posts, also diversify content types. Incorporate videos, infographics, and other media. This not only improves the user experience but also accommodates different audience preferences.Note that there is no one-size-fits-all approach, and the optimal publishing frequency may vary depending on your industry, niche, and target audience. We recommend finding a balance that meets both client expectations and SEO best practices.

Dear sir,
I have experience in SEO and you have to publish at least 10 or 5 articles on days first and then you can publish 1 article after 2 or 3 days but you must have to publish. Google likes adding valuable stuff on a routine basis.
Don't start making backlinks until you finish your complete onpage, techniqal seo, local seo.

Strategies for Enhancing Lead Generation from Blog Posts
Hello Moz Community, I've been running a blog ( www[dot]arrify[dot]com ) for a while, focused on Salesforce. I'm looking to enhance my lead-generation efforts through my blog content. I would appreciate insights and strategies on the following: SEO Best Practices: How can I optimize my blog posts for better search engine visibility to attract more potential leads? Content Engagement: What types of content (e.g., infographics, videos, in-depth guides) have been most effective for engaging readers and encouraging them to provide their contact information? CTA Placement: Where is the most effective placement for calls-to-action within a blog post to maximize lead capture without detracting from user experience? Lead Capture Forms: Are there any recommended practices for designing lead capture forms that encourage sign-ups? Any specific examples or case studies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

Is it worth buying an entry on Wikipedia-type sites?
Recently I've come across a few websites offering (for a fee) to research, write and publish an entry on the likes of Wikipedia, Citizendium or Wikitia - I thought this might be helpful when it comes to marketing and link building for a brand or individual. Purchasing guest blog posts is a standard way to obtain a high domain authority in-context backlink, but I wondered if purchasing an entry on one of these human edited encyclopedias would be as effective, better or not worth the money? It costs quite a bit more than guest posting and blog outreach, but on the other hand they are authoritative websites that also include backlinks. Any thoughts would be most welcome.

How to Get a New Organic SERP Image Pack
I have been doing a little on-page SEO on our site today and came across the following images embedded within organic SERPs, please see the screenshot. Obviously the users eye is drawn to these and therefore they are likely to result in more clicks. It would be great to know what they are called and how to go about getting these for our own results? If we managed to implement these across our site it would make a big difference for us, as working in the travel space, images are so strong when painting a picture of the destination. Thanks

Should I split long form content?
I have quite a long content on my site. By length I mean around 8000-9000 words. I optimized it to cover almost all searches related to a topic. But this length makes me uneasy for some reason. I do not think that users will find what they are looking for in such a long content. However, I don't want to neglect the SEO aspect of the content. I can talk about something like this without sharing the keywords completely: Title + for girls Title + for boys Title + for kids Title + for girlfriend Title + for boyfriend Title + for students As I said, in the current situation, these are all sub-headings (H2) of 8000-9000-word content. When I make a separate content for each of them, I can bring them all closer to 1500-2000 words. However, I am undecided whether this is the right step in terms of SEO and content optimization. What are your views?

Clever Way To Increase Organic Search Traffic To News/Magazine Websites
Hi fellow Mozzers... I've been asked to increase organic search (SEO) traffic to a news/magazine style website. All the website consists of is regular news articles within a specific niche. It is also already listed on Google News. I know we can improve any on-page tactics, such as optimising the article webpages, internal linking, improving the navigation and adding breadcrumbs etc. But what about off-page? They want us to work on backlinks to the site, which we can do for the homepage to improve the domain authority. But there's no point on increasing backlinks to the individual news articles, as they have a very short life span, and are not evergreen. Perhaps it's a good idea to increase backlinks to the category pages? But there are no real keyword opportunites on these pages. Can anyone recommend a clever SEO strategy to increase SEO traffic to a news style website? The site can be found at https://tinyurl.com/2p9arrwz Best wishes. Many thanks for any replies in advance 🙂 Lee.
