Linkbuilding TO Your Guest Blog Post?

Hypothetical situation:
You write a guest blog post for a popular blog about your niche topic. The post is a hit and sends you visitors, leads, and social media followers.
Would you consider running a linkbuilding campaign to the blog post in order to help it rank better for its target keyword(s), given that the post has proven to convert successfully, despite the fact that the post is on a domain other than your own?

If I was producing content that is a "big hit"... I would be posting it on my own site (and nowhere else) and building links into it there.

If the traffic you're getting to your own domain off it is does what you want -- whether the goal is conversion for profit, more social media followers, or just more visit -- go for it.

If it gets you conversions and ultimately more money, of course. Just ranking highly doesn't make you more money, conversions are what matters in the end.

Does More Guest Posts Effect Website Rankings in a Negative Way?
Hello Everyone, On an average I am getting around 20 backlinks for 15 days. All these backlinks are done through proper outreach and guest posts in relevant websites. We have a team of four people doing only outreach and getting backlinks through proper guest posts. But I am worried on whether it will effect my website ranking in a negative way? Kindly get me clarified with my doubt. Should I continue this or should I reduce my numbers?

Question about links on blogs
I have a number of blogs, but I'll use this one as an example: http://www.totalpackers.com/. If you look in the left column, we have "friends" links and "more Packers" links. In every case, these were links that we traded or links to our own sites. We get traffic from a number of these sites because of the link exchange, but I'm worried having these is hurting our SEO (as well these sites posting our links). It's crossed my mind that I should remove all these links from our site and ask that our links be removed from their sites. Would that be overreacting? Or is this something I should do? I have a list of such blog submission sites but they all either need weeks delay till it gets approved or never gets approved. Does a Subdomain Blog Pass Juice?
I have a client who has their blog on a subdomain instead of subfolder. Unfortunately, the eCommerce platform they are using does not allow them to implement a blog in the subfolder. So now we are looking at growing their blog as a means to drive more traffic to the main site. The blog is a mirror of the eCommerce site's navigation with the main content section being a blog rather than products. Will publishing content and building links to the subdomain blog pass authority to the main site?

Link Building Through Blogs
A client of mine wants to look into new areas of link building after convincing them that their current link building strategies (purchasing multiple links from god knows where) was not working well for them. Essentially I felt they were spinning their wheels. Now, we are looking into content related blogs to get some honest links for their site. They sell sports equipment and we are looking at sports blogs to get links/partnerships. Most of these blogs want sponsorship fees or advertising fees. From an ethical standpoint I understand buying links is not the best idea. But because these are blogs that earn traffic, have relevant content, and can be helpful for the advertisement aspect to link to people who might be interested in their products as well. There shouldn't be a problem in acquiring a few of these links if the budget allows for it, correct? Also are blogs a good source to acquire links from?
