RE: Viability of PPC for Competitive Keywords?
Hi Alan,
cost of per click depends on many factors like the keyword that you are going to use, target location, competitors bidding. So as far as I know without running a campaign it is very difficult to predict about exact cost per click.
As I can see the budget that you want to use is low so IMO you should start campaign with long tail keywords and you should not bid on broad match.
You can use BMM to target long tail keyword.
e.g +Manhattan +office +space +rates
+Manhattan +office +space +leaseYou should also consider Call-Only Campaigns, in this campaign there are chance of getting more leads in low cost.
Hope this helps.

RE: Is there way to have several AdWords Ad for the same keyphrase?
Hi Dmitri,
This is not possible, only one ad could show from one domain as per Google adwords policy. As you mentioned that no body is bidding on your brand name then what is the use of showing 4 ads? I also assume than in organic also you are the on top.
If you want to occupy all the position for your brand name . create profile on social media sites like fb, twitter, linkedin etc to appear on all positions.

RE: Titles and Metas disappeared?? Help please!
Hi Charlie,
I checked view source and I find very unusual thing. Your title and description tag is b/w <script type="<a class="attribute-value">text/javascript</a>"> and that is the reason .
Meta title is an html tag & description also, not Java script
You have to close Javascript tag properly I think that is the only issue.
Hope this helps

In a perfect world, I’d say to use rel=canonical on the home-page, known duplicates, and any pages with parameters that could drive duplicate content, and leave the rest alone.

RE: Adwords Bidding
Hi Gavo,
First things first: there's no one recommended bid amount that works best for everyone. The right bid for you will depend on the cost of your keywords, the type of campaign that you're running and your profits.
If you’re unsure what bid to start with, try setting a max. CPC bid of £1/$1.
For more info please check this @ https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2471184?hl=en-GB
*In order to get more impression your ads must appear on first page

RE: Will Huge bounce rate from social media visits affect SEO or website Ranking according to Google algorithm factors?
Hi,
"According to google algorithm, these are factors affecting website ranking."

Hope this helps.

RE: Long tail keyword
Hi,
My suggestion is entirely different what above mentioned. Create an adgroup with BMM keywords with at least 2 and max 3 words and let it run for 2-3 weeks. If you will do this you will get new longtail keywords that you will not get in any keyword tool.
**I have tried and tested this method several times in my campaign and I got several new long tail keywords with improvement in goal conversions.

RE: HTTPS Migration & Preserving Link Equity
Hi Joe,
I'm sharing all the SEO checklist for https migration. I'm highlighting two points that you have asked.
SEO checklist to preserve your rankings
-
Make sure every element of your website uses HTTPS, including widgets, java script, CSS files, images and your content delivery network.
-
Use 301 redirects to point all HTTP URLs to HTTPS. This is a no-brainer to most SEOs, but you'd be surprised how often a 302 (temporary) redirect finds its way to the homepage by accident
-
Make sure all canonical tags point to the HTTPS version of the URL.
-
Use relative URLs whenever possible.
-
Rewrite hard-coded internal links (as many as is possible) to point to HTTPS. This is superior to pointing to the HTTP version and relying on 301 redirects.
-
Register the HTTPS version in both Google and Bing Webmaster Tools.
-
Use the Fetch and Render function in Webmaster Tools to ensure Google can properly crawl and render your site.
-
Update your sitemaps to reflect the new URLs. Submit the new sitemaps to Webmaster Tools. Leave your old (HTTP) sitemaps in place for 30 days so search engines can crawl and "process" your 301 redirects.
-
Update your robots.txt file. Add your new sitemaps to the file. Make sure your robots.txt doesn't block any important pages.
-
If necessary, update your analytics tracking code. Most modern Google Analytics tracking snippets already handle HTTPS, but older code may need a second look.
-
Implement HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS). This response header tells user agents to only access HTTPS pages even when directed to an HTTP page. This eliminates redirects, speeds up response time, and provides extra security.
-
If you have a disavow file, be sure to transfer over any disavowed URLs into a duplicate file in your new Webmaster Tools profile.
Thanks

RE: URL, page title, item name - which is most important for google ranking
Hi,
Page title is most important here . So I wouldn't suggest you to use suppliers name and product code in the tittle. In title you should use most important keywords so your website can rank for those keywords in Google SERPs.
so first do keyword research and find keywords with significant search volume and use those keywords in title ( don't use single word keyword because one word keyword is generally very competitive so avoid one word keyword).
Hope this helps.

RE: What is the best way to update Adwords final URLs if I'm moving to a new CMS?
Hi,
From your question I have concluded that you are worrying about QS after changing final URL so here is answer from Google.
"Quality score is primarily based on predicted CTR, ad relevance and landing page experience. Creating a new ad (with new Ad ID) with the same keyword, creative, landing page and device would therefore not affect the quality score."
You can use AdWords editor to complete the upgrade.
"Stats history are not lost because the removed ads are still in the adgroup. There is no impact on reporting at ad group or higher level. The only impact would be when looking at the ad ID level, you will now have stats for 2 ad IDs (one for the past, one for the new)."
You can also watch this video @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQBR_LT7pS4
it is about upgrading URL from destination URLs to Final URL but you will get answer of all your question.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Analytics Remarketing audiences can be created more granular level. Means Audiences can be created on the basis of Analytics Metrics and dimensions:- Visit Duration, Browser, Operating System, Country/Territory, City, and Goal Completions.
whereas through Adwordd you can create your audiences based on your pages. Thus, it depends on you which one is better for you based on your requirements.

RE: .com or .co.uk
Hi Stevens,
IMO you should use .co.uk because most of the sales are coming from UK. I was in the same situation few years back and I found people clicked more on .co.uk domain. Several visitors doesn't click on .com domain in SERPs because they think that sites belongs to USA.
Hope this helps.

RE: How to handle knock-off product leveraging your brand keywords?
Hi Jamie,
Yes I have a suggestion for you. You can start Google Ad words search campaign for branded keywords only. You will be at number 1 in no time and I hope CPC would be very low because you are using your brand name as keywords.
You can also try this for Bing if your sites getting significant number of searches from Bing.
Hope this helps.

RE: Two Robots.txt files
Hi Satia,
You mentioned that one robots.txt file placed in inside the server and search engine unable to see the file. If search engine won't see robots.txt file then what is the use of that robots.txt file?
AFAIK it must be placed under root directory an there is no way to keep two files with the same name. So you must have only one robots.txt and that should be placed under root directory.
Hope this helps.

RE: On Google Analytics under search queries, the most popular query is "(not set)", how do I find out what this is?
Hi,
If you see (not set), that means that the traffic coming to your site did not have keyword. It might be from an odd search engine that doesn’t pass that info, or perhaps you’ve manually tagged something as Organic and not supplied a keyword.
are you running any Google Adwords campaign or you are talking about organic search?
I'm sharing an article where you will find all the possible condition for appearing (not set) in analytics

RE: Finding websites that don't have meta descriptions
Hi,
There is only one way to find missing meta description from any website is by seeing view source. I hope you are aware of the facts that if any sites don't have meta description Google picks meta description from content on that page.
So in order to find missing meta description you can use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/meta-seo-inspector/ibkclpciafdglkjkcibmohobjkcfkaef?hl=en or you can do manually.
I would also request to wait for more answer from top community member.

RE: Page title contents
Hi,
IMO your title should be like this - amelie wedding dress/dresses (only one of them) |Buy Online Now
As I don't know your keyword list so I'm suggesting if keywords having Australia in it have significant search volume you can add '| Australia' at the end of the title otherwise not necessary to place 'Australia' in title.
Hope this helps.

RE: How do you optimise for multiple keywords?
Hi,
If you are thinking about only title and H! tag then you can use modifier like buy, cheap, best etc but due to word count limitation it is not possible to use more than two to three keywords.
But you can use multiple keyword in content of the webpage.
To know more please visit @ http://backlinko.com/on-page-seo
