You can use either 'en' or en-AU, it doesn't make any difference in keywords ranking/SEO.
Thanks
Hi,
The usage of lang="en"
as an attribute to is recommended, if the content really is in English.
Language detects via the words used on the page (and in the URL), it does not care about the HTML tag.
(you can test via the language detect api what language google thinks your page is using http://code.google.com/apis/language/translate/v1/using_rest_langdetect.html )
I don't think it is going to affect ranking.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Jason,
In robots.txt you have added trailing slash that is the reason.

Remove trailing slash from robots.txt.
It should be -

Disallow:

Hi Becky,
Google mentioned very clearly that Search Console data may differ from the data displayed in other tools including analytics.
Here you will find all the possible reason @ https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1213138?hl=en
FYI Google Webmaster tools does't really provide super accurate info. You'll find that your Google analytics is much more accurate of the two.

Hi,
This is the reason that I suggest you to create a separate ad group for BMM keywords only in which you have to add exact match and phrase match query as negative keyword so you can measure the performance of only BMM.
If it is still not clear to you please let me know I will explain you by giving example.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Robert,
I have seen few such queries in adwords community where I find those emails not from Google. So if you post your question in Google adwords community you will get response from Google employee soon. There is a Googler name 'Kathleen' she respond very promptly in such case. So post once there I hope you will get reply from 'Kathleen'. You can also contact Kathleen on twitter.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi,
First of all if you pick broad match modifier keywords you will reach broader audience with some controls. I use BMM keywords in my campaign and that is giving me significant number of conversions. As far as QS , CTR and CPC is concerns in my case all are good in my case.
IMO you should create a separate Ad group for BMM keywords in which add exact match and phrase match as negative keywords so your ad trigger for only BMM and keep checking search terms and if find irrelevant search terms add thoise search terms as negative keywords.
You can check it for 1-2 months then you can decide whether BMM perfoming well or not if not you can pause those ad groups.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi Deedra,
As far as i know you can't avoid this because Google will always ask "do you mean this spelling instead?" because I presume her name is similar to any English word that is why Google always ask that.
I don't think it is going to affect because I have seen several times that users uses wrong terms (with incorrect spelling) but Google gives correct result most of the time and yes they do ask "do you mean this spelling instead?"
So I don't find any reason to worried about this and there is no way to avoid this (we can't control what users going to search in Google).
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Stephen,
GoogleBot can't crawl links with a gclid, so they won't end up in the index and won't be flagged as duplicate pages.
AdWords does not work this way. The script that produces the ads contains no links--there's nothing for GoogleBot to discover without running the script. which it does not do. I am not certain that Google search produces the ads the same way, but what would be the point of GoogleBot crawling Google SERPs? It doesn't do that.
I do include canonical tag in the header of all our pages, which is one of Google's suggestions for dealing with this. I suppose that could be why I don't have an issue with this.
*If you don't believe this to be true, look through your logs and try to find one record of GoogleBot crawling an AdWords link with a valid gclid.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Lisa,
If you are asking about Google AdWords campaign then you can use competitors brand as keyword but you can't use in Ad copy but if you are asking about SEO then Google does NOT police this. So in the SEO sense you can use that and you won't be penalize.
What would be the benefit because a great effort required to rank competitors keyword and if your sites getting visits from those searches most probably bounce rate would be very high I have seen this in Adwords campaign by using competitors keywords?
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi,
I'm completely agree with you that if keyword is not present in meta title on page grader tool gives lower grade because it is the most important place to use keyword in on page SEO.
It is not possible to place all the keywords in meta title so we place only important keyword in meta title and it is also not possible to get grade 'A' keyword for each keyword so IMO place important keyword in meta title and use rest of keywords in web page content, H1 tag and in backlink anchor text.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi,
Did you check them in open site explorer or majestic seo or Hrefs? unfortunately Google doesn't show all its links. It can take a while for new links to be found by Google. They say it can take a couple of weeks but I've seen links that took months to be found.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Site suspended due to GWT violation? I presume you must have received email from Adwords team about reason of suspension. I have never heard that I have gone through many site suspension reason but it is first time I am hearing this that site penalized due to GWT violation.
can you tell me what kinds of GWT violation occurred ?
You can also contact them (adwords support team ) to resolve the issue suggested by Andy.
Thanks
Hi Michael,
I don't think so and as far as i know we should concern only when important images blocked e.g products images.
Thanks
Hi,
That is not possible in Google shopping because Google stated very clearly that products price in feed and price on website should be equal otherwise account could get suspended.
Once I were showing products price on website excluding VAT and in XML feed inclusive VAT price were showing. Google send me a suspension warning email about that so you have to show the same price in feed and on website including VAT and other charges.
Thanks

Hello Andrew,
Few things I need to know before answering your query.
1> Is your old site penalized earlier or have low quality backlinks if yes don't do redirects it won't help in fact that will harm your website.
2> if your old website is completely fine I mean no penalty/ no low quality links then it is good practice to do 301 redirect.
3> as you mentioned in your query that your old sites niche is different then current that means if you will redirect that will not serve any value to user and bounce rate will be high and I doubt boost in ranking.
Hope above suggestion helps you in deciding what would be the appropriate steps.
thanks
Hi Becky,
Completely agreed with Andy's suggestion.I would like to add one more thing here I'm also working on a large e-commerce site with thousands of products. I find a good way to insert alt tag very easily I asked web developer to create a module by which every products having alt tag with product name and web developer did a great job by writing only few lines of code. you can ask web developer to do the same.
Now I don't need to add alt tag individually on each product and it saves my time.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi,
If the site is using spam techniques to rank in google, You can file a spam report at http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport
Hope this helps.

Hi Andrew,
It is not a good practice to create separate web page for every keyword. There are few ways by which you can target more keywords on single webpage
1>Add Modifiers To Your Title tag (e.g “2014”, “best”, “guide”, and “review”) - You can change as per your requirement
2> Post Long Content - at least 1000-words.
Longer content helps you rank better for your target keyword and brings in more long tail traffic…a win-win!““
3>Drop important Keyword in First 100 Words
4>Use h1 tag.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Raj,
The [site:] operator returns an estimated count of the number of indexed pages for the domain.Basically, Google displays a small percentage of the actual data because they believe it's not fair for spammers and competitors to reverse engineer someone's ranking.
To get better results try open site explorer (https://moz.com/researchtools/ose/).
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi,
First Check Google search console for any message from Google about any issue. If there are no message please check for which keywords ranking goes down or disappear ranking. Check anchor text for all the URL whose ranking Goes down.
over optimization of anchor text could also be reason if no message in Google search console. I'm just speculating because these could be the reason.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
Google Shopping doesn’t allow you to see your average position on the page or give you insight to the Quality Score of your feed, there may be a temptation to increase your bid with the assumption this will deliver improvements in both and, therefore, better results but it isn’t a sure fire formula in case of Google shopping.
First you should check impression share. Here you will see how much of your impression share is being lost to budget, and how much is lost to rank. If rank is low, consider raising bids or improving product descriptions in your feed via Google Merchant Center.
Please also check Benchmark CPC , that will helpful for you to know how competitors are bidding.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Eddie,
This URL (www.widgetcompany.co.uk/widget-gallery/coloured-widgets/red-widgets) is really looking spammy. Second URL is perfect you should go with that URL for the keyword "red widgets".

Hi Erick,
ripoffreport destroying many online business since long time and it doesn't go easily. Couple of days back ripoffreport was de indexed by Google but after few hours relisted in Google.

ripoffreport reviews can be removed by strong ORM but not very sure many people have the same issue.

Hi,
I think you are doing wrong because you are using tripadvisor.com as destination URL.
You can track affiliate clicks using event tracking. I'm sharing a video tutorial link for this @ http://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/tutorials/how-to-track-anything-with-google-analytics/
*****You have to change on thing only from above tutorial -onclick="_gaq.push(['_trackEvent', 'category', 'action', 'label']);"
to onClick="ga('send','event','category','action');"
Or if you have difficulty use this tool to create the event tracking code @ https://gaconfig.com/google-analytics-event-tracking/affiliate-link/
Hope this helps.

Hi Lehia,
I have checked your website and I found that you are doing on page terribly wrong, you cannot use same meta title/same keyword on two different URL.
Home page meta title and Uluru tours (http://www.uluru.travel/uluru-tours/) have almost same meta title.
You should target 'Uluru tours' for one URL only so it is better to target for URL - http://www.uluru.travel/uluru-tours/
First I would like to advice you to first go through SEO basic so you can understand things very well then you can implement on your website .
Here is one of the best SEO tutorial for beginners @ https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo
Hope this helps.

Hi,
To check broken links/URLs (the http response ‘404 not found error’) on your website) you can use Screaming Frog SEO spider which is free in lite form, for up to 500 URLs.
http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/broken-link-checker/
Gary Illyes from Google says "Whoever came up with the idea that having 404s gives a site any sort of penalty, you're wrong. Utterly wrong."

Hi,
I'm completely agree with Andy because if a spammy link is nofollow then there is no reason to worry.

Hi Erick,
In your case 301 redirection is the only option because you want to pass link juice canonical doesn't work in that case. If your partner doesn't care about link juice then you can put few do follow anchor text links on important keywords to your website.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
Hi Patric,

Hi,
I'm not agree with Lawrence on this . Calculation of Average position in Google search console under 'Search analytics' tab or in "Aquistions/Search Engine Optimisation" is complicated. Google changes definition in 2012 and Here is how Google explains it:
Let’s say Nick searched for [bacon] and URLs from your site appeared in positions 3, 6, and 12. Jane also searched for [bacon] and URLs from your site appeared in positions 5 and 9. Previously, we would have averaged all these positions together and shown an Average Position of 7. Going forward, we’ll only average the highest position your site appeared in for each search (3 for Nick’s search and 5 for Jane’s search), for an Average Position of 4.
Please also check this thread @ http://searchengineland.com/google-changes-definition-of-average-search-ranking-position-109289
