    I have a customer that services literally hundreds of towns. I'm trying to figure out the best way rank in each town.  Should I create a landing page or a webpage for each city and optimize for each particular town ( facts/information about the town. SEO titles H1, H2 and alt tags? Thank you!

    Website was changed over to secure HTTP about twp months ago. Just looked in Google Webmaster Tools and it only shows about 8 inbound links. We did a permanent 301 redirect for all URLs. There are over 800 links according to Open Site Explorer. Is it just that they are showing only the HTTPS inbound links?  Should I add the HTTPS version in WMT? Thanks for any assistance

    Hi Everyone, I am creating a list of 301 redirects to give to a developer to put into Magento. I used Screaming Frog to crawl the site, but I have noticed that all of their urls 302 to another page. I am wondering if I should 301 the first URL to the url on the new site, or the second. I am thinking the first, but would love some confirmation. Thank you!

I'm coming across some conflicting data regarding how useful it is. Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the viability of LinkedIn for B2B marketing and building brand authority?     I am trying to setup a Moz Local campaign but I am unable to change the county (I am in the UK). In the Moz report, my 'state' is listed as 'Cnwll', but it should be 'Cornwall'. My Google + page has the correct information and is verified. My Facebook page has the correct information, apart from the fact that I can't add add a county. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I could go from here? Thanks.

    Hi I have just got my first Crawl Diagnostics report and I have a questions. It saids that this page: http://goo.gl/8py9wj links to http://goo.gl/Uc7qKq which is a 404. I can't recognize the URL on the page which is a 404 and when searching in the code I can't find the %7Blink%7D in the URL which gives the problems. I hope you can help me to understand what triggers it 🙂

    I am researching new SEO recommendations in lieu of Google's controversial "3-Pack" update.   I am noticing very different results in the Google 3-Pack on a android mobile browser when I do a local search query versus a query in apple mobile browser.  For example if I do a Google search for "Seattle Sporting Goods" I am able to see direction links and full address numbers for businesses in the 3-Pack.   However the same query on a Android phone provides only "teaser" street name results, no direction links but still shows business reviews. Is it possible that the 3-Pack update is still in flux?  Shouldn't the Google 3-Pack show uniform results across all different mobile browsers?  This could impact my SEO recommendations.

    I have GoDaddy website builder and a new website http://ecuadorvisapros.com and I notices through your crawl test that there are 3 home pages http://ecuadorvisapros with a 302 temporary redirect, http://www.ecuadorvisapros.com/ with no redirect and http://www.ecuadorvisapros/home.html.  GoDaddy says there is only one home page.  Is this going to kill my chances of having a successful website and can this be fixed?  Or can it.  I actually went with the SEO version thinking it would be better, but it wants to auto change my settings that I worked so hard at with your sites help. Please keep it simple, I am a novice although I have had websites in the past I know more about the what's than the how's of websites. Thanks,

    Hello fellow MOZ'ers! Like many of you, I've been reviewing the Search Engine Ranking Factors 2015 Expert Survey and Correlation Data. My SEO Specialist position requires me to create positive SEO results for our clients' organic search ranking campaigns. As I understand it, "Relative CTR is a valuable number that can show users how their ads are stacking up compared to their competitors ads appearing on the exact same websites." My question is...Does relative CTR affect organic SEO efforts (positive or negative) in anyway? The campaigns I'm working on do not include AdWords efforts. Is this a factor I should ignore/look over? Or is there something I can do "organically" to influence this ranking factor in a positive way? Thanks!

    I need to redirection every page of my website to a new url of another site I've made. I intend to add:"Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.example.com/newpage.html"I will use the 301 per page to redirect every page of my site, but I'm confused that if I add:"Redirect 301 / http://mt-example.com/" it will redirect all of my pages to the homepage and ignore the URLs i have separately mentioned for redirection.Please guide me.

    Currently we have one US website that we built on a new SaaS platform last year. We want to move forward with adding subfolders for three other countries. Based on previous discussions, we believe we can easily copy the content of our US website and put it into a subfolder and then make localization edits from there. If we build out brand new sites with new domains, I would expect to pay licensing fees. But if we just do subfolders, are there usually licensing fees involved?

Is it damaging (or helpful) to implement the exact same markup in the footer and a specific page, like for instance,  a locations page that has the address and contact info (which are also in the footer)?

    I'm going through the crawl report and it says I've got duplicate pages. For example, blog/page/2 is the same as   author/admin/page/2/  Now, the author/admin/page/2 I can't even find in WordPress, but it is the same thing as blog/page/2 nonetheless. Is this something I should just ignore, or should I create the author/admin/page2 and then 301 redirect it to blog/page/2?

In relation to the H2s, do you think I should demote some of these to H3 or even H4 tags? Also, terms like 'Posters' is very vague, would this be better as 'Poster Printing'? Thanks, Lewis

    So my understanding is that you can use site: [page url without http] to check if a page is indexed by Google, is this 100% reliable though? Just recently Ive worked on a few pages that have not shown up when Ive checked them using site: but they do show up when using info: and also show their cached versions, also the rest of the site and pages above it (the url I was checking was quite deep) are indexed just fine. What does this mean? thank you p.s I do not have WMT or GA access for these sites

    We have recently launched a new website, (domain has been registered to us for a time - just never got round to developing the website). Any suggestions on kickstarting quality traffic to get the ball rolling? Basic on page SEO work has been done and a little bit of link building, although the latter has been rather difficult to find bona fides sources. So far most of the traffic comes via referrals from bot's no actual valuable referrals or organic traffic (According to GA). And by the way, I'm NOT interested in people offering traffic bots 🙂 I'm just looking at ways of getting the site established organically, not interested in PPC at the minute. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. P.S. Please keep your answers as short as possible, I will request if I need any more information.  Also please note down if you had a positive experience of your suggestion actually working.  Many Thanks

    Moz is picking up a large quantity of duplicate content, consists mainly of URL parameters like ,pricehigh & ,pricelow etc (for page sorting). Google has indexed a large number of the pages (not sure how many), not sure how many of them are ranking for search terms we need. I have added the parameters into Google Webmaster tools And set to 'let google decide', However Google still sees it as duplicate content. Is it a problem that we need to address? Or could it do more harm than good in trying to fix it? Has anyone had any experience? Thanks

    I have several clients looking for local submission services similar to Yext (since they are already subsribers). Can anyone suggest a service similar to Yext for an SBO. Likewise, do any of you know any local citation services that are similar to Yext, but specifically for the hotel/hospitality industry? I was considering localeze.com, but I'm skeptical because I believe the citations I will be getting there will be similar to the ones I'm getting on Yext.     Hey everyone, I rebranded my company at the end of last year from a name that was fairly unique but sounded like I cleaned headstones instead of building websites. I opted for a name that I liked, it reflected my heritage - however it also seems to be quite common. Anyway, I registered the domain name as it was available as the previous owner's company had been wound up. It's only been in the last week or two where I've managed to have a website on that domain and I've been tracking it's progress through Moz, Google & Bing Webmaster tools. Both the webmaster tools are reporting back that my site triggers 404 errors for some specific links. However, I don't have or have never used those links before. I think the previous owner might have created the links before he went bust. My question is in two parts. The first part is how do I find out what websites are linking to me with these broken URL's, and the second is will these 404'ing links affect my SEO? Thanks!

    Hi, We have migrated to a new domain name and I wrote my redirects as follows: Redirect 301 / http://www.healthpointe.net Redirect 301 /urgent_care_locations.shtml http://www.healthpointe.net/healthpointe-locations/ Redirect 301 /locations.shtml http://www.healthpointe.net/healthpointe-locations/ Redirect 301 /career_client_relations_rep.shtml http://www.healthpointe.net/careers/ My issue is that when I include the first redirect, which is to the main page of the website that the other redirects stop working. Any idea what the problem could be?

    We cannot change the content on our website.And we have a lot of it. Where would we get the most bang for our buck: Adding lots of fresh content; Linking Content Internally in ways that make the relationship between the content more clear; Creating schemas and metatags for the content.     Hello everyone, The server (in-house) which we use to host our website is a bit old. We are using CDN77 for our static content. What if I move all our website to the CDN service? meaning I use their storage capability and just have our url point to the IP address they provide. Would that hurt our rankings?

    Looking for community feedback: Some of our In house developers want to use Prismic.io over Wordpress for it's alleged ease of organizing and "deploying" content. It's essentially a repository for content from which you make API calls to. It's a rather new platform. There a few posts in Quora around SEO but looking to see if anyone has had experience with platform. My concern is around  page load times, excessive server requests, and content viewed as code. Any thoughts/ experiences would be much appreciated!

    Howdy all, this has been bugging me for a while and I wanted to know the communities ideas on this. We have a .com website which has a little domain authority and is growing steadily. We are a UK business (but have a US office which we will be adapting too soon) We are ranking better within google.com than we do on google.co.uk probably down to our TLD. Is it a wise idea to 301 our .com to .co.uk for en-gb enquiries only? Is there any evidence that this will help improve our position? will all the link juice passed from 301s go to our .co.uk only if we are still applying the use of .com in the US?     Hi all, I've an ecommerce which ships worldwide and we maintain 3 languages, spanish, english and french. My main business is in Spain, so spanish will be shown in the root domain: http://domain.com/. English will have the /en/ subdomain and french the /fr/ subdomain. After some research, I've concluded that the best strategy for my business is the following. 1º- Translate all the URL's to the correct language, since now are in spanish. 2º- Implement Hreflang tag (with self-reference): Note: Due to the "universality" of english, Does it make sense? Or should I use spanish as default since it's the most important one. 3º- Create the 3 sites in Search Console and only geo targetting french sobdomain to France. Since I really want to boost in France rankings. Do you consider this as a contradiction with ? I could also target country in the hreflang. 4º- Add language tag in each language version: <meta name="language" content="spanish">in http://domain.com/</meta name="language"> <code class="broncode"><meta name="language" content="english">in http://domain.com/en/</meta name="language"></code> <code class="broncode"><meta name="language" content="french">in http://domain.com/fr/</meta name="language"></code> <code class="broncode">5º- Use canonical tag together with hreflang.</code> ``` Any opinion will be very appreciated.     Hi there, Some external developers have created a wishlist for a website that allows visitors to add products to a wishlist and then send an enquiry. Very similar set-up to a shopping basket really (without the payment option). However, this wishlist lives in a separate iframe and refreshes every 30 seconds to reflect any items visitors add to their wishlist. This refreshing is done with a meta refresh. I'm aware of the obvious usability issue that the visitor's product only appears after 30 seconds in their wishlist. However, are there also any SEO issues due to the refreshing of the iframe every 30 seconds? Please let me know, whether small or large issues.

    Hi, i need some help as i am lost on what exactly the best to do. My website http://goo.gl/KxN8X6 I want to delete my community  http://goo.gl/SbY39r which is giving me a nightmare when it comes to seo friendly. The /community has too many errors with seo and I think is harming the site growth. Now I want to delete it but if i delete it I am going to get a lot of 404 errors. So I was thinking to first add a Noindex and nofollow to it and in a month delete it. Could you please let me know if this is a good strategy? or if you can suggest something better. I really don't want the community. Thank you for your help.
