  • Hello Moz Community, I'm facing spam score issue on my site General Queen according to MOZ my website spam score is 30% but anybody can explain how can i decrease it? Firstly I disavowed all low-quality and high spam score links (6 months ago) but my spam score was not decreased after that I created some high-quality and 0 spam score backlinks but still, my spam score is same 😞 According to Moz link explorer, my domain backlinks spam score ratio was below; Stats of 14 July 2019 .. Screen shot is attached 1-30% .. 45.3%
    31-60% .. 32.1%
    61-100% .. 22.6% Stats of 13 June 2020 .. Screen shot is attached 1-30% .. 65.1%
    31-60% .. 30.7%
61-100% .. 4.2% You can see a huge difference in the backlinks spam score in it. But why my spam score is still 30%? Looking forward to your reply. Thanks & Regards, abu1NiB XGLkr5z

  • Hello, Moz community! I'm planning to change the language of my website title and description from English to rank better for queries on the local language. Do you think this would increase the local language ranking? And in case I need to switch back to English, let's say in 2021, would it be difficult to regain the current rankings? Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this. Thank you!

  • I'm using wordpress for my blog and yoast plugin for seo. recently i read a tutorial about "long-tail keyword" usage. but i get confused when i want to use them in my blog posts. take this long-tail keyword: best gaming mouse and keyboard for ps4 Imaging i want to use this as my primary keyword(focus keyword) in my blog post. how should i use it in post title and other parts of my article? -should i use it in the exact same order in my title or post?
-how to use it in yoast keyphrase input? should i use exact match of the focus keyphrase in the input? as you know Google is capable of recognizing the separate words from longer search terms, even if the words are not in the exact same order as the query. I searched many days but unfortunately i couldn't find anything about how to use keyword or long-tail keyword inside the article step by step.

  • Hello everyone! I am constantly receiving offers from content writers looking for blogs to post content for their clients and offering to pay me to add 'relevant' articles to my blog. My question is: Is this a good idea? And if so, what should I charge? My main concern is if accepting these posts would damage our reputation in SEO terms. Any help would be much appreciated. • I have recently re-done my entire site (only a few days).  I believe Google is still re-crawling and updating (however, the amount of movement on other searches has been significant).  My buyers guide is ranking very high for its intended keywords, as well as high for the keywords of the category page.  Both are at the beginning of the second page and I wonder if its dragging me down. What do you think I should do?  Is it to early to take action as everything has been completed redone.

  • Hi all, Trying to figure out what is going on with the keyword explorer. All searches are made in the EN-US region. Example keyword: app localization

Moz shows the volume as 2480 when actual volumes are in tens of thousands. I can give many more examples like this - what is going on? NZGzX2p.png vzIwMoe.png

  • Hello, A while ago I published an article on our blog (HERE) and ensured that it meets all Moz's criteria for a good ranking. Moz scores my article at 96%, which is great. However, Google does not show my link anywhere, even that the target keyword has a difficulty score of 5% only. Any idea why this page is not doing good on Google? The article URL is: https://missionquest.org/how-to-choose-a-missionary-service-agency/ The target keyword is: Missionary Service Agency. Thank you for your help. Mission Quest

  • We have been trying for over a year to get Google My Business listing verification on our facilities, which are separate from our company HQ. We have 31 facilities around the world that do not have business signs on them. We have tried sending postcards and are told that no one is receiving them. The folks who receive the mail are guards and it's tricky to ensure they field them. This has been an ongoing challenge as Google says that the alternate method requires a business sign located next to the building number, which we don't have. What do you recommend we do to get listed in GMB?

  • Hi, I have been working on SEO for a long time, recently I started a new site where I was aiming to rank different niches but I am stuck. First I covered some keywords related to sports then I shifted the niche to hunting. My idea was to cover a niche fully then move on to the 2nd so the authority of the site can also help rank the 2nd niche but the problem is I am unable to rank my site. Should I be considering only a very specific niche site or should I continue doing all the stuff on the same site. Please checkout my site ReviewsCase.com and let me know. And if has also done the same please let me know.

  • Hello there, My client is not appearing in the People Also Ask section on Google for their brand name and I'm not sure why. Can anyone help or explain how you get featured into these snippets? What's weird is when you google their brand name, the People Also Ask section comes up, but they only appear in one question. The other three are from their competitors which is obviously annoying for them. Do you know how to get into the People Also Ask bit? Do I have to markup the page or is it simply based on popular questions and the best answers?

  • Hello Moz community, I’m following one of my competitors on Moz, and I noticed a huge bump in his domain authority overnight, going from 8 to 53. I figured there must have been a reason for that, so I checked their links overview, and noticed they got tons of new external followed links, followed linking domains and total linking domains (see screenshot 1). I clicked on the external followed links to see what they are, and I saw tons of redirect notices (see screenshot 2). The links are from google: maps.google.co.fr cse.google.co.fr images.google.co.fr And .fr is just an example, they have tons of other cctlds like .it .ca .es… the list goes on (see screenshot 3) Do you know where these redirect notices are from? It may be worth noting that some of these redirect to the http version of his website, while others redirect to the https version. I’m guessing this must be a bug on Moz’s end or some sort of SEO trick, but did his DA really go up that much, and does it positively affect his website or will Google penalize this? Thank you in advance for your answers! f9pZoJ3.png M0Z0s9x.png BNQryzR.png

  • Hello, Our website howtoremove.guide was recently removed from the Bing and Yahoo index. The first thing we did was contact Bing Webmaster support to ask what the issue was since we did not get any notifications or messages in our webmaster dashboard. The email that we got back said “I have escalated the issue to our engineers and will get back to you once I receive an update.” Since then, we haven't received any word back from them, but we did not find any technical problems and we strongly believe we were manually penalized. We've never had issues with a search engine before, so we are at a loss what to do. Could you please give us advice as to what technical issue our website might have or what could incur a deindex penalty in our case? We want to do everything that is possible to get back into Bing and Yahoo search results ASAP. The website has primarily affiliate content, so we are doing anything we can to clean everything up, but any recommendations will be incredibly useful to us. We are also open to contacting an expert on this, but we have no idea where to look.

  • Hi. I'm trying to get my website; www.ciphr.com , to rank for keywords relevant to "HR Software" in the UK.  It's a highly competitive industry and we rank ~mid to low on page one for some of our ideal keywords that are highly relevant and high volume. Years ago we took the decision to blog about topics more loosely related to the world of work. One of our blog posts, about plants in the office https://www.ciphr.com/advice/plants-in-the-office/   is popular. It gets decent traffic and consistently builds backlinks to the post without any further effort on our part. The specific page has a PA of 46 and DA of 55 with >500 domains linking to it.  This compares to our home page with a PA of 47 and 700 linking domains. It is typically the home page that ranks for our money keywords "HR Software" "HR Systems" in the UK. Because this blog post is so loosely related to our actual business, the traffic it generates is highly unlikely to  turn into a customer of ours. I am considering redirecting the blog post to the home page to pass link juice to the home page. The concern I have is that, based on the anchor text and contextual signals from linking pages, Google might then infer that our home page is less relevant for our money keywords and more relevant for "plants". Are my concerns unfounded? What are your thoughts? Should I redirect the blog post to the home page? Another internal page?  Keep the blog post live? Thanks

  • Hi Moz Community, We have a headless ecom (Magento) client that I'm trying to crawl the site.  During the crawl, the tool (Screaming Frog) cannot discover the sub-category URLs in the main navigation when I start crawling via homepage. Similarly, when I start crawling with one of the sub-category page, it doesn't crawl any of the product URLs on the sub-category page itself. When I inspect product and sub-cat URLs through Search Console, they seem as indexed and if I view how Googlebot rendered the sub-category page, I can see the product URLs on the sub-cat page too. If you have any idea what's the issue with Screaming Frog and would like to help me out, I'd be so grateful! Thanks in advance

  • Hello Moz community, We are an agency providing services to various industries, and among them the hair salon industry. On our website, we have our different service pages in the main menu, as usual. These service pages are general information and apply to any industry. We also have a page on the website that is only intended for the hair salon industry. On this page, we would like to link new service pages: they will be the same services as our “general” services, but specialized for hair salons. My questions relate to duplicate content: Do we have to make the new individual service pages for hair salons with completely different text, even though it’s the same service, in order to avoid having duplicate content? Can we just change a few words from the “general service” page to specifically target hair salons, and somehow avoid Google seeing it as duplicate content? Reminder that these pages will be internal links inside of the hair salon industry page. Thank you in advance for your answers, Gaël

  • Hi all, we want to speed up our website (hosted in Wordpress, traffic around 450,000 page views monthly), we use lots of images. And we're wondering about setting up on Cloudflare, however after searching a bit in Google I have seen some people say the change in IP, or possible sharing of Its with bad neighbourhoods, can really hit search rankings. So, I was wondering what the latest thinking is on this subject, would the increased speed and local server locations be a boost for SEO, moreso than a potential loss of rankings for changing IP? Thanks!

  • Hey Experts, I have a website which is providing local business services to US clients. For this purpose, I have created the separate landing pages for each client. Now my question is that I have done citation for that particular landing page not for the root domain. Now the client has decided to stop working with us and I removed the business name and detail from that landing page but the landing page still exist on dummy business name. But citation of that business page still exists. Then how that business citation can affect that linked page? I mean it will affect the page ranking or Google trust or relevancy?

  • Hi All I've picked up a new website project and wanted to ask about the best way to proceed with the current site during the development process. The current site is incomplete although it has been live for a while and has over 80 pages in the sitemap. Link to site https://tinyurl.com/ychwftup The business owner wants to take down the current site and simply add a landing page stating "new website coming soon". From an SEO perspective, am I better to keep the current site live until the new site is ready? Or would it not make any difference if I setup the landing page and add 301 redirects from each page in the sitemap to the landing page. Many Thanks In Advance For Any Assistance

  • A few of my articles face same pattern from search engine. Firstly it raises to top and gathers bunch of traffic but then falls back. Obviously there is a problem with behavioral factors, and particularly I guess we do not answer specific intent of the users. But since there is a lot of keyword phrases it is not so obvious how to get article tuned to them. Does someone have an experience of such a tuning? May be some tools or advices? ZrJ7G4qFM77JPm.jpg

  • I uploaded a couple of link lists to Moz about a week ago and have been tracking them. Most of the links on the list are from significant 90+ DA domains such as Wikipedia, Medium, etc. So far, Moz only seems to have discovered about 4 the 200 or so links I loaded. Do we know how long it takes for these to be discovered by Moz? Quite new to this, so any help understanding timelines for this would be appreciated.

  • Hi All, Does anyone have a suggested Screaming Frog  (SF) configuration to mirror default Googlebot crawl? I want to test my site and see if it will return 429 "Too Many Requests" to Google. I have set the User Agent as Googlebot (Smartphone). Is the default SF Menu > Configuration > Speed > Max Threads 5 and Max URLs 2.0 comparable to Googlebot? Context:
I had tried NetPeak SEO Spider which did a nice job and had a cool feature that would pause a crawl if it got to many 429. Long Story short, B2B site  threw 429 Errors when there should have been no load on a holiday weekend at 1:00 AM.

  • I work almost exclusively in wordpress now. And I always hesitate when it comes to naming a site's homepage. I have to give it a name -  right? I usually pick the business name or /home. And then that is identifies as the site's static homepage in the Wordpress settings and it works just fine. But I've started to get warning that it is an issue because it creates redirects.  For example, I just ran the Ryte service analysis on a website and it warned me about "Non-indexable pages with high relevance" and it's basically my homepage that has 29 incoming links that "passes all pagerank to https://ourdomain/home But what am I supposed to call my homepage if not "Home"? It's not like the old days where anyone has to type it in. The root domain loads the homepage just as it should. Can anybody advise me regarding best practices for what to name a Wordpress homepage for good SEO? With thanks in advance for your help.
