How much of a difference does it make in click-throughs to be the first listing in Google Adwords versus the second or third (still at the top of the page)?

This is a great point. You could even implement this simultaneously by adjusting the bid with an Adwords Experiment and not risk any weirdness in the results by running one after the other.

I would run a test. A/B test both the situations. See what the difference it. This varies so much by who you are up against, today and your competition could change on a day to day basis. So run this test every few days/weeks.
Run a small campaign to bid for position #1 for x amount of time.
Another campaign to bid for position 2-3 for the same x amount of time.
The cost vs conversions, ROI calculation will tell you what's better for you. If the numbers make sense to stay at #1 and you can afford to do that, why not ?

I work on Adwords for an educational subscription-based site, and for us, being #1 is really hard for a lot of searches if there's no purchase intent in the query. Lots of people seem to do a search and click on the top result, even if it's an ad.
So yes, you can get a lot more clickthroughs as the #1 ad, but at the same time, your conversion rate can suffer.

It depends.
If you are an MSRP seller and two deep discounters are above you then you will probably be wasting your money. If you are a light discounter with two MSRP sellers above you then you will likely get a lot of sales.
So, it depends who you are, who else is in the SERPs and who is lookin for something.

Does anyone have direct experience regarding the impact on quality score by ensuring there is a privacy policy in place on the landing page? I am aware of the legal requirement but I have heard anecdotal evidence there could be an impact on quality score if one is missing.

Do UTM Parameters reflect in Google Analytics
Hi, We have recently enabled auto tagging in our URLs but not sure if tagging is working correctly. Does Google Analytics shows the utm parameters also in URLs in Google Analytics OR Google shows only the base url (after removing utm parameters) in Analytics. For example: Will http://www.abc.com/?utm_source=Indiaweb&utm_medium=Display&utm_campaign=CPC&utm_content=NRI_newprojects&utm_term=US be shown as is in Google Analytics under PAID Tab or only http://www.abc.com/ will be shown and the utm parameters will be removed in Analytics if auto tagging is enabled. Hi I'm just wondering how specific the targeting can be for an adwords campaign that targets youtube videos. Specifically if the following scenario is possible... If I was to promote a car alarm, is it possible to have my adverts show up before news stories of car thefts? i.e. can I pick and choose individual videos? Thanks

Two google analytics accounts on one site.
I've got a client who is using a third party for cpc ads, to track these we need to give the third party admin access to google analytics. Being that we are seeing massive discrepancies in reported cpc ads and refunds etc.. have been offered, I can't trust that as an admin they won't delete the profile with all data proving reason for refund. Can we create a second google analytics account (not profile) to protect the data? We want to give access to sensis to the new account so we can start seeing the cpc separation in traffic source from now while ensuring the existing account can't disappear.

How does this company have more characters than allowed on Google Ads?
I thought this was weird and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this... I attached the image so you can see what I mean. How does this company get away with having more characters than what Google Adwords allows? And why is there a "block ads from" thing underneath this ad, but not the others? In Google Adwords, can I create negative dollar-amount keywords?
example of negative keywords: -$40 driving lessons -35 dollar driving lessons The driving lessons I'm selling are $55 an hour, so I obviously don't want unqualified leads chewing through my budget when they clearly don't want to spend $55 on a lesson. I already have the price mentioned in my ads, but I want to negative out the dollar amounts because people are still stupid enough to click without reading the ad. Any help will be appreciated! Matt
