I want to see what SEOmoz has to say about all the thumbs down and somebody getting a thumbs up for their Their initial question that's awfully odd I believe there's manipulation going on here and I really don't appreciate when I've tried to help somebody that they somehow have no clue as to what's going on with a thumbs-up or thumbs down I know at the risk of getting more thumbs down and posting this however I believe that what I'm saying needs to be heard by a SEOmoz admin Thomas Zickell

RE: Is it currently possible to have a company logo appear with a Google search result?
you are talking about something like this
or this
Either way there seems the answer is yes
http://www.authorsure.com/202/your-logo-in-google-search-results-using-relpublisher
here is a great blog post on why you should do it as well
http://www.seomoz.org/blog/google-author-photos
the reason I ask is you say company logo. You could make your Personal & company photo the same in Google + photo your company logo and thus it would show up as you.
I did a little research and I think that is what you have to do is make them both one you can only have one unfortunately what I understand however these links I believe will shed a lot more light on this. I strongly suggest using a photo of yourself or your company's logo regardless and putting it as Google author

RE: Where are the crawled URLS in webmaster tools coming from?
I agree 100% with Dirk!
Google is going to crawl your site as long as your as long as you have a domain's robots.txt file and Meta tag robots allow for the bot to crawl the site. By not telling Google anything you are saying welcome to my site please index
Google Webmaster tools are doing you a favor and saying look this is a problem that the bot has encountered while indexing your site look into it.
Submitting a XML sitemap to Google will definitely help show them where to look and you can request that they index using crawl is a Googlebot.
Some good advice on how to fix the issues found

RE: Website not ranking
Don gave an excellent answer. You definitely do have a "field of dreams" site right now.
I will use a enterprise tool to audit your site if you would like me to? This will tell you if you have too many links your crawl budget and other issues that could be affecting your website. Also if you have disavowed Links this will obviously impact your site sometimes in a negative manner. Even if the links are junk they are still sometimes not harming the website. Please don't think what I just said means leave bad links pointing out your website.
Remember that whoever built your website to put the link to their site definitely does not know what they're doing SEO wise.
You may also want to consider combining your JavaScript and your CSS.
&
defering it will speed it up
http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/defer-javascript-extension.html
You can find many methods on magnetos website.
Cloudflare.com pro or Business not free edition is an easy way to do this
Your site is unfortunately running very slow and I have people running with more server request that do not see speeds over 1.5 seconds in the United States. Using a HHVM server configuration.
check out mgt-commerce.com There fast & extremely reasonable.
3.8 seconds out of Dallas is not very fast unfortunately.
Sorry for the short answer I will give you hard data when I get back to my desk

RE: Schema business address - can this affect me in the national rankings
Hi ,
I currently have found adding Schema microdata will increase your local and national/international reach. As I believe the software is simply an easier method for Google to use in order to find us. I unfortunately do not know if there's a Google places or local in the UK but I would strongly recommend using SEOmoz's http://getlisted.org/ I checked there is a UK version. for local search results boosting along with using Schema as it is a better system to use regardless.I don't know if you're using WordPress or not but if you are I have found both the Raven tools Schema plug-in and the H card plug-in below to be very helpful http://lautman.ca/hcard-wordpress-widget/

RE: Impact SEO when sharing with other PC urls a mobile website url
I understand what you're saying. And I agree. Thank you for the things I had not been too clear on.
If I ask are you using a CMS of any sort or is this just. You know site when you're discussing the five different websites?
Web servers and telling great deal about your website when query. For instance I suggest using this tool to find out exactly what the servers find out about site when it is clearly using this is free however you do have to sign up.
https://www.ultratools.com/tools/websiteInfoResult
The tools part is very valuable as well and you can sign up at ultratools.com
You'll create me to create a mobile CSS & style sheet for the subdomain to be acted on when the server has detected the device
I hope this is of help to you.
https://github.com/browsermedia/browsercms/wiki/Configuring-a-mobile-subdomain-for-apache
http://www.sitepoint.com/designing-for-mobile-web-3/
http://moz.com/community/q/mobile-redirect-better-to-example-com-m-or-m-example-com
Ideally what should happen when you're creating a mobile subdomain is the website itself should be able to detect whether or not it is necessary to put the person on and.example.com or example.com therefore the size of the screen and a few other things that all servers can tell just by the person who actually accesses their URL will be able to serve the right content. Therefore you will have to create cname for m.example.com

RE: Do YouTube videos in iFrames get crawled?
If you do not want to take the gamble with I-frames and want to be certain that your content is found by Google I would use Wistia it comes with everything that you need in order to have a video indexed the proper embed code, video site map and schema you can use third-party companies like "speechpad" to transcribe what is being spoken. Wistia also offers A similar service.
If you do choose to use YouTube I would reembed the video with embedly rember you will have to create your own video XML sitemap, add your own schema you may use to YouTube content to a website without having to worry about Google not being able to index because the I-frame is converted into a readable code.
This is a great resource on video SEO. Because I can tell you using Frist hand by using this method it will work.

RE: What Do You Wish Your CMS Could Do (SEO Wise)?
Honestly built-in support for video site maps would be awesome if you can pull that off without a plug-in and it would have to be of the same quality of Yoast
basically everything Yoast makes plug-ins for if you could actually build that in to a CMS at the same quality he has made them that would be spectacular.
Some way for my website to have only one request and be able to hold ridiculously large images however I don't want the size to be over 1K but the entire website.
While I'm on it throw in everything copy blogger makes as well and I don't want to have to deal with those as plug-ins either I just want them to be built in.
Analytics I want 100% server-side I don't want slowing down my website or any code at all however I want the best of both worlds I want true Lee fantastic analytics like the type kiss metrics makes built-in.
And a cheeseburger with french fries please.
Thank you,
Thomas

RE: How do I switch my website to www.mydomain?
I need more information about what you're actually doing. when you click on your settings link to the left of your screen when inside your WordPress dashboard what do you see below WordPress address
and site address as shown below.?
Do they match?
| <label for="siteurl">WordPress Address (URL)</label> | |
| <label for="home">Site Address (URL)</label> |Enter the address here if you want your site homepage to be different from the directory you installed WordPress.
|
I need to know this before I can help you with your problem. Is it seems you could have many things during this but you're talking about a problem that would be only able to exist because a plug-in being given is not the correct information. Are you using WordPress Seo plug-in? or any SEO Plug-in?
would you mind sharing your URL with me?
it sounds like you need to clean your cache. And you could have an issue with 301 redirects or you just didn't match up the site correctly when setting it up.
you state
" have canonical URLs turned on, my .htaccess file..."
I'm assuming you're on the same host?
You are getting redirected because of or a separate issue because of cache problems would you mind trying your website into different web browser
The link below will only illustrate the need to have this correct not how To fix WordPress redirect issues like the ones I believe you are having however please send your URL to meet in up private message or please post it I can give you much more in permission after looking at it that I can by guessing.

RE: Should you delete old blog posts for SEO purposes?
You could go back and improve the pages if you have any URLs from other sites or back links pointing to your content and you deleted that will not be good. Plus Google Will probably not like that you chop your site and half. If they are really worthless pages no index them So your crawl budget doesn't get ruined. To me removing content because there's small problems with the Page sounds about idea very bad idea.

RE: How do I switch my website to www.mydomain?
your DNS shows
oorganicencyclopedia.com. 86400 IN A 54.235.194.53
the us you are missing the record needed to serve www
please place a DNS record like this in your DNS
www.oorganicencyclopedia.com. 86400 IN A 54.235.194.53
with the www on the left side and your IP address shown above on the right side.
If I may make a personal suggestion I would strongly recommend posting with a managed WordPress host somebody like Zippykid, WP engine, pagely or web synthesis would be a preferred system to what you're using now.
Zippy kid would probably give you the most bang for your buck by a lot As they would control your DNS for you and offer up one and all solution for everything WordPress.
Please let me know that this is been of help sincerely Thomas

look at other websites that have achieved this goal that you wish to do.
you are going to start marketing agency and you want to know how to do the keyword research.
Alexa.com compete.com they both feature information on sites other than your own. You can Google similar sites as well.
A excellent example of a local SEO site that has succeeded would be whitespark.ca
for B2B organic search look at any HubSpot partner http://www.impactbnd.com/ or http://www.kunocreative.com/
everyone these companies are doing well and I list them just so you can try and learn from what they have achieved.

RE: Schema markup for Webinars
Utilizing past events will be will be able to instruct Google that you are having a consistent event cycle whatever length of time that is. So I do recommend doing it. JSON-LD has been, recommended for events.
In the past, Google has suggested Microdata. For websites and JSON-LD for apps however since their overhaul the new schema testing system, it seems like they have gone 100% JSON-LD in their recent "recommendations" for events.
("Try out the following examples using the Structured Data Testing Tool. All examples show JSON-LD syntax. If you prefer, you can use Microdata or RDFa syntax.")
JSON-LD His extremely lightweight but is invisible to the end-user. Microdata Is visible to the end-user.I would base it on what makes sense for your website. I do not know if you are utilizing app?If you are currently using microdata, it is still supported. If you are looking to use schema for the first time, I would recommend JSON-LD for apps and Microdata for end-users.
https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/events#use-cases
https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool
https://blog.kissmetrics.com/get-started-using-schema/ I would use Google's schema generator for JSON-LD or one of these options for microdata
http://schema-creator.org/event.php
http://microdatagenerator.org/
Below are two examples of the different styles and keep in mind microdata is visible
Microdata. event example I created.

I am almost 100% sure that you simply need a 2nd a record like this record below posted in is a photograph. I am using DNS made easy MS every DNS host is different I prefer Dyn however I'm trying this one out and some do not show your domain name as it does not show my domain name in this photograph some will show the domain name all you have to do is enter
www no dot before the domain name or in the box to the left of the IP address that you have to add as well
so it will show
www.organicencyclopedia.com IP address
** and**
organicencyclopedia.com IP address
** no cname is needed for this to happen.**
** Only the correct a name is needed right now.**

RE: Is it reasonable to not give an SEO access to our CMS?
I understand how that SEO feels you are preventing them from doing their job if you do not allow them root access.
If you do not trust them enough to actually be in there on the server then you should not be using them.
There are alternatives like staging servers but search engine optimization is done over a long time and definitely requires admin access to the server I imagine this person does not want you doing what you think is best and affecting their work just the same way as you do not want them affecting you by doing something else to the server.
A good SEO should work with a developer if they do not have that knowledge.
this is actually something a SEO should know before taking the job although it is definitely assumed.
I would not presume to tell you how to do your job I feel that they probably feel the same way.
Hope that helps,

RE: How do I switch my website to www.mydomain?
Network solutions makes money off of scaring people that way. In my opinion they're the only ones that give that really Stupid warning to people to make them feel afraid.
do not change your name servers unless you are going to move to a better host
here is the way it is done on network solutions you do have to click advanced
When you move Name Servers to Network Solutions, your existing Name Servers will no longer be used. As a result, website and email from other providers will be lost.
1. Within **Account Manager, **select My Domain Names
2. Select the domain name you want to change and select Manage
3. In the green box, select Change Where Domain Points
4. Select Advanced DNS
5. Select the type of record you would like to work with
IP Address (A records)
This is the Address Record and is used to map the domain name server (or hostname) to its numeric IP address. In other words, the A record resolves a domain name or points the domain name to the correct location by means of the IP address.
- In the IP Address (A records) section, click on the **Edit A Records **button
b) To add the new Host and Numeric IP addresses or update the existing Numeric IP addresses enter the appropriate information in the text boxes, if needed modify the TTL settings (7200 is the default) then click on the Continue button.
- A confirmation page will appear verifying that your records have been updated, review the information carefully, and then click on the Save Changesbutton.
http://www.networksolutions.com/support/how-to-manage-advanced-dns-records/
you will be adding
www.oorganicencyclopedia.com. 86400 IN A 54.235.194.53
if you see the domain already there like this on the left oorganicencyclopedia.com
simply type in www NO Dot then go to the box on the right and enter 54.235.194.53 if the box asking for TTL or time to live is blank you can type 86400 as your time to live is best to be the same for each a record and unless otherwise needed.
I updated this to get rid of the 1st a selection as It does not pertain to what were doing.
And I would again if this site is a business site or something you care about quite a bit strongly suggest using to manage WordPress host the only one that will control your DNS records for you on an excellent system run by DynECT
is Zippykid.com they are very inexpensive for what you get.
-
RE: Is it reasonable to not give an SEO access to our CMS?
Try using a staging server it's kind of crazy to be making changes to the live site regardless. There are some great staging servers out there that will allow access to them then only once the site is definitely not broken or heard in any other fashion then you can move forward.
Saves you having to do their work and them having this issue. I do agree everyone talking about the secrecy stuff there's no secret sauce it's create the best website and best user experience.
Most people would be proud to say what they're doing not say that this is MI fives operation

RE: How to Remove Web Cache snapshot page & other language SEO Title in Google Search Engine?
You can use
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
Without logging into Webmaster tools
** I am guessing that is why when you asked you said without WebMaster tools **
** It is almost impossible to affect Google's cashing of a site without dealing with Google. You can block things but updating content like a new title tag or description can be done anonymously using the URL at the top . **

RE: Crawl budget
I just wrote a better reply so forgive me the file was deleted by hit post. But I do think this information will help you get acquainted much better with a crawl budget
One thing that may not incorporate your domain however is that is not centered a external link is a content delivery or CDN URL that is not rewritten to the traditional CDN.example.com Content delivery network URLs can look like
- https://example.cachefly.net/images/i-love-cats.jpg
- https://example.global.prod.fastly.net/images/i-love-cats-more.png
So you may see URLs like one shown here should be considered part of your domain and treated like a domain even if they look like this but these are just two examples of literally thousands CDN variants.
Examples for this would be the cost of incorporating your hostname to a HTTPS encrypted content delivery network can be very expensive.

RE: How do I switch my website to www.mydomain?
Yes they are trying to get you to confirm that you want to use your own name servers and if I may add their DNS setup is garbage because they make money off of managing it for you.
To update A records
1. Log in to Account Manger
2. Within **Account Manager, **use the drop down under **My Domain Names **to choose the domain you’d like to manage and click the Go button
3. In the green box, select Change Where Domain Points
4. Select Advanced DNS
5. Click the Continue button
6. If the domain name was not previously pointed to Network Solutions nameservers (DNS) you will receive a page with messaging regarding this change. If you’d like to continue, click the Move Nameservers to Network Solutions button
7. In the IP Address (A Records) section, click Edit A Records
8. Your current A records are listed in editable form, and any Network Solutions service that is associated with the A record is listed below the Numeric IP text box
9. The first three hosts listed are the most common hosts used with domain names:
o www : Points to the specified IP address when Internet users enter an address, such as www.jimbikes.com
o @ (none) : Points to the specified IP address when a user enters just the domain name without anything before it, such as jimsbikes.com
o * (All OThers) : Points any unassociated host for a domain name to the specified IP address, similar to a catch-all feature that could be used for any misspelled host names
To add or edit A records
1. Enter or edit the new host name in the Host column
2. If needed, modify the TTL settings (7200 is the default)
3. Enter or edit the IP number under the Numeric IP Address column in any remaining empty row
4. Click Continue
** You see they make you go through all that just to add an a record. Confirming the a records in their will not harm you at all.**
Simply confirm them and continue then follow the advice above.
I can't tell you how strongly I recommend using a different host.

RE: How much to charge for my E-commerce SEO services and web design
What I have experienced is if you're using a particular framework like magento and you do the development as well you can charge quite a bit. Rightfully so it's a lot of work.
If you're doing straight up design and allowing a developer to about that design.
Break it down into parts and ask yourself what is your time worth.
The market will balance itself out automatically crowdsourcing is huge in web design currently. This method of creating websites has some pluses and negatives focus on what you can bring being a all-in-one source that is powerful.
99designs and designcrowd are very popular and I truly think they balance out pricing in the design the industry and are unfair to designers at the same time. However if you want to know what it will cost there not a terrible barometer.
I have information below that may help you. Now the information contained below does not reflect my opinion of what SEO should cost nor do I believe they are putting in campaign style work. They're talking about on page.

RE: Google Search console says 'sitemap is blocked by robots?
No, you do not need to change or plug-in what is happening is Webmaster tools is telling you that you have no index or no follow were robots xTag somewhere on your URLs inside your sitemap.
Run your site through Moz, screaming frog Seo spider or deepcrawl and look for no indexed URLs.
webmaster tools/search console is telling you that you have no index URLs inside of your XML sitemap not that you robots.txt is blocking it. This would be set in the Yoast plugin. one way to correct it is to look for noindex URLs & filter them inside Yoast so they are not being presented to the crawlers.
If you would like you can turn off the sitemap on Yoast and turn it back on if that does not work I recommend completely removing the plug-in and reinstalling it
- https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-can-i-uninstall-my-plugin/
- https://kinsta.com/blog/uninstall-wordpress-plugin/
Can you send a screenshot of what you're seeing?
When you see it in Google Webmaster tools are you talking about the XML sitemap itself mean no indexed because all XML sitemaps are no indexed.
Please add this to your robots.txt
`User-agent:* Disallow:/wp-admin/ Allow:/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php` Sitemap: http://www.website.com/sitemap_index.xml

you can submit your site manually to Google through this

and here is some information on how to get Google to crawl your website faster. However 1st I would test it out

to make sure your site is functioning correctly I would use some of that fantastic free tools from Internet marketing ninjas here
http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/seo-tools/google-sitemap-generator/
I would run your site through the link above and see what you get. I also would check your robot text by simply typing in your domain name the top here and ending update it will show your current robot text settings. You can then make a new robot text file based on allowing things more than disallowing and allowed the search engines in. The 1st link above will tell you if you have no followers and things like that.

What I would be more worried about is if you have a large number of backlinks pointing to the old domain and you do not want to redirect to the new domain but you want to use the new domain for SEO purposes that will most likely Take a long time before the new domain starts to rank and you will have to do a lot of optimization to the new domain to allow it to rank.
Use a tool like copyscape.com to check if you have duplicate content it will tell you pretty clearly whether or not you are still sharing duplicate content between the two domains.
I hope this is of help,
Tom

RE: What are the top free tools to use in SEO (apart from SeoMoz of course)
100% free? Google Webmaster tools, Bing Webmaster tools there are light versions of many SEO applications if you want something that incorporates a little bit of everything like Raven tools does however does not cost nearly as much try SpyderMate SEO Tools http://spydermate.com/ for only $19 a month you get access to SEOmoz, majestic Seo, SEM Rush and Google analytics works with it. Like I said it's very close to Raventools And if you're just starting out it is a perfect way to go instead of waste your time with something that's free. There are tons of sites on the Internet that will give you quick breakdown of page rank and small things but will not get down to the nitty-gritty of the links, keywords, and content analysis. SpyderMate SEO Tools Does that for $19 a month. They also have free iPhone out that's really impressive. I think if you ask anyone else they will tell you an app that combines SEOmoz, majestic Seo, SEM Rush and Google analytics along with giving you full access to them like Raven tools for $19 is a steal.
I hope I have been of some help to you, please remember do not waste your time on the free stuff I haven't found any myself that's any good.
Sincerely,
Thomas Zickell

RE: How do I switch my website to www.mydomain?
Hi Laura,
I would take the blogger version of your website then simply put it on a functional framework click WordPress preferably Genesis-based
I have attached a bunch of links most of them are themes you can also use 1st link the screaming frog is Seo spider to show just how bad the the job script in blogger is affecting your ranking.
http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/seo-spider/
your links have way too many parameters in them to ever rank well
http://www.organicencyclopedia.com/search/label/Cooking With Whole Foods
you like page.ly I do to their great use them if that's the one you like
simply going to this URL http://www.seomoz.org/pro-perks
find Page.ly you will have 30% off for life ( it will show you what you see below gone the logo it will take you to the a page with discounts)
one thing I would recommend buying to avoid conflict is but dollar month and it's Amazon route 53 DNS you simply place the name servers into your old DNS in addition to being very easy to use to be in much faster http://aws.amazon.com/route53/
it costs 50 cents a the domain per month
always cloudflare for free just make sure the orange clouds are not lit http://www.cloudflare.com free for life
remember because of security reasons none of these hosts serve e-mail so you must have hosted e-mail like Google apps unfortunately Google apps is no longer free. But there is an identical product you can get for free rate here and it imports all your old mail into with just a username and password
https://www.zoho.com/mail/zohomail-pricing.html
pick the light plan
30% Off All Plans
Page.ly is a superior Managed WordPress Hosting solution. They take care of the technical stuff, so you can get back to blogging
I would then go to this page below copy blogger if you want quality free advice from people who are extremely well known in the industry in fact they make these themes own on a hosting company and many more things to with blogging you will have no trouble at all moving your comment and onto a new WordPress server with page.ly you simply export from blogger into WordPress on a fresh database.

RE: Adding https version of website: how best to redirect
It does not matter if you have a CMS or not
You need to redirect your entire site to whatever canonical you want considering use the www. it might be smart to just add the HTTPS and continue with the www. or
Set you're preferred domain (www or non-www)
USE:
https://www.aleydasolis.com/htaccess-redirects-generator/ to make the code needed or use the code below to force HTTPS
HTTP to HTTPS
If your web server is running Apache, you can easily redirect all of your HTTP traffic to HTTPS by adding the following code to your
.htaccess
is the recommended method for redirecting a site running on Apache.<code class=" language-php">RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]</code>

RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} !^443$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R=301]</ifmodule>If your web server is running Nginx, you can easily redirect all of you're HTTP traffic to HTTPS by adding the following code to you're Nginx config file. The following will differ from platform to platform. In this example, we will show you how to update your URL. We recommend using a free tool from Interconnect IT called “Database search and replace script in php.” You could run update queries yourself, but there are a lot of tables and metadata fields you will probably miss unless you have an exact list.
We recommend doing dis on a dev server and moving it back, or at least backing up you're database first to be safe as this script does grab your local database credentials. Simply drop their program into the root of your site via FTP. Then browse to it in your browser. (We named our folder “search-replace-db”)
You can tan insert what you want to replace. Make sure you enter all of the formats you have mixed and matched over the years such as:
-
http://mydomain.com
tohttps://mydomain.com
-
http://www.mydomain.com
tohttps://www.mydomain.com
Check it with

RE: What are the top free tools to use in SEO (apart from SeoMoz of course)
I hate to be that guy but
SEO Quake is a plug-in for browser or you can use it on the site in the light version but the full version costs and it's part of SEM Rush. http://www.semrush.com/prices.html
Backlink watch back link watch costs http://www.gtslinkbuilding.com/buy-backlinks
SEM Rush http://www.semrush.com/prices.html
Majestic SEO site explorer Another excellent tool whenever it does offer free version but it's not practical so if you want something that's worth anything here's the cost https://www.majesticseo.com/plans-pricing?
http://www.woorank.com/ It is not a free tool it cost money after 2 times a lot pricing http://www.woorank.com/#pricing
You just mentioned all excellent tools. all the Google tools are free however I didn't even bother to check out X-linked sleuth however I do believe it is free. Don't you think that this guy would be better off with a tool similar to Raven for $19 month SpyderMate SEO Tools does a lot for that money. I'm trying to keep him from having to do run one site and then move on to the next free trial.
I hope I have not offended you all because those are good ways of getting data and honest I wouldn't know them if I didn't use them however to use them in their full capacity or true capacity is extremely expensive.
Sincerely,
Thomas,
PS
if you can find a better all-around tool please tell me what you know of spider made popped into my head and I know it's good

RE: Get the startpage rank high for one word
Jacob,
They are exactly right how do you think distilled.net can rank for video SEO far better than any exact match domain because they do RCS and like you've been told you must fight for what you want in SEO and in the world's not with violence with your mind you know.
I think you should listen to both of the people posted below or above me. They are very much correct it has everything to do with our element here site is to that keyword not your exact match domain.
There's absolutely no reason if you can create better content for your chosen keywords that you should not rank higher than somebody who has content less worthy of the higher ranking. Google is a $40 billion a year monster that can decipher rather not you have actually done things correctly and created something valuable for their reader count on that when you're writing and doing all the hard work and what these well-respected gentleman have said.
Sincerely,
Thomas

RE: Adding https version of website: how best to redirect
Also James telling somebody to add HSTS with preload is extremely dangerous unless they know without a doubt that their redirects are set up properly it will keep them in the browser improperly for up to six months your advice is to simply add H STS with preload and it was abundantly clear that this person knew that the four URLs were what was to choose from. I included the completed 2 to 5-page references for a complete package.
"After a period of time - and rankings seem ok . - you can implement oscp stapling and some server wide HSTS. and submit to teh preload directory. "
For the record do not employ HSTS with preload until you have determined that all your subdomains if you have any, are going to have HSTS in addition that all your redirects are completely perfect and the way you want them. I would check using a tool called screaming frog Seo spider or my personal favorite deepcrawl.com
**Your rankings could be just fine and it would not necessarily show that you have a redirect chain permanently embedded for six months in your set up in less you check it first. **
"OCSP stapling is an alternative approach to the original Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) for determining whether an SSL certificate is valid or not. It does this by allowing the web server to query the OCSP responder (a certificate authority’s server dat listens for OCSP requests) and then caches the response__. This allows the web server to check the validity of its certificates and eliminates the need for the client to contact the certificate authority"
OCSP can and should be implemented at the time of employing the SSL certificate

RE: Our Firefox organic traffic seems to have been re-allocated to direct - anyone know why?!
it appears this is very common.
if I were you I would set up accounts with alternate analytics providers and see what you get.
Or
mix panel does not cost anything to use when starting out. I would utilize them as a backup to Google analytics
if you're using WordPress a free plug-in is available here
https://github.com/zippykid/mixpanel-wordpress
a alternative is to use https://segment.io/ either with Google analytics or without it this will allow you much more granular control over GA or whatever analytics provider you choose.
To fix this problem though I would

RE: WordPress and category/subcategory landing pages
I use Premise as you can change the landing page url to meet your needs. You want the least amount of parameters after the
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wordpress-seo-by-yoast-remove-category-base
Get it here
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-seo/
Original URL/ this will get you the most ranking power. You may also want to use WordPressSEO by yost you can eliminate categories from the URL therefore lowering the the amount of parameters your website will show.
If I had A) http://example/landing-page/
Vs
B) http://example/category/landing-page/
I will always pick the one with the least amount of forward slashes or parameters
There is a good price on Unbounce to create landing pages inside the SEOmoz pro perks
http://www.seomoz.org/pro-perks
I like http://getpremise.com/
Landing Page URLs – This option allows you to create a unique URL for all the landing pages you create. Like a category distinction, it will keep your landing pages ordered and more SEO friendly.
basically in WordPress you you want the least amount of parameters after the/as possible to not use your categories to dilute the URL unless the category is a unique category and is the only thing after the/.
I hope this makes things easier.
Sincerely,
Tom

Hi EGOL you bring up a great point I just checked my Google Analytics and found the exact same thing.
