I completely understand where you’re coming from. But I believe that in order for the Moz webCrawler to work properly it would have to be able to detect a CMS and then make unique recommendations for that CMS that would take away the functionality currently for crawling on websites.

For now it’s up to the SEO to figure out what to make of the reports.

yes I was able to see everything inside Search Console’s It look to me like everything has been correctly. I am honestly kind of stumped as to why the 301ed domain shows more index links. The only thing I can think of is that the site map was submitted to Search Console and that the search and replace was recently done so those URLs were still on your  hosted site.
Google will take up to 4 to 5 months make  the move.

it should be much quicker after you’ve done the search and replace on the URLs.

I would also upload the old  XML site map to your new website & submit it to your Google Search Console.

I am happy to take a look at your Hosting Infrastructure and see if something is awry there I cannot find anything using quite a few different tool sets and looking at your Google Search Console. It seems to me that this should’ve been done much faster by Google.

I will bring it up to  Googles John Mueller in a Twitter talk I am going to have with him next week.

What have we done?

The website has been transferred one to one. No changes in content, url, technology, etc. Everything has remained the same.
301 redirects total domain (via htaccess bulk redirect). All old pages, without exceptions, end up on the exact same page.
The new domain runs from CDN (Cloudflare) with the same settings.
SSL is installed exactly the same way.
Domain migration in Search console set correctly.
New sitemap uploaded (and working).
Internal links updated.
The most important external links that I have influenced or have adjusted.
In the meantime already received some new external links and made some new content.

The sad result in organic traffic, so far:

We dropped from nearly 300 visitors in one day to about 40 visitors.

Google stopped looking at IP address about two years ago.
I  am sure that there IP wasn’t that factor for SEO unless they where on a PBN or it was over two years ago.

Many very large sites use CloudFlare or something else like it

I personally would recommend Fastly if you want something that with shrink images & work like CloudFlare but do the things that only CloudFlare Enterprise a $5,000 a month offering can do.

I don’t know you’re server config but I know time after time Fastly has been much faster then CloudFlare

Lastly I do want to CloudFlare has gotten a bad name because they do not  regulate who or what content is allowed on there platform  booters use them to attack & to prevent DDOS attacks. With a platform that this has lead to there IPs being listed as spam so I have seen a case when I used.

9.9.9.9 or IBMQuad9 as reclusive DNS where I could not see a CloudFlare site because one ip was listed as spam & 9.9.9.9 just shows a 500 error it was fixed when I changed my local DNS to a dns system that didn’t block spam IPs. this also only happened once so it is very unlikely to happen to you.

Change in IP, or possible sharing of Its with PBNs / bad Neighborhood’s, can really hit search rankings but it is very unlikely that google will think that is your domain if the IP is dynamic like CloudFlare . it not going to hurt you because google looks at domains not IPs now.

I would be extremely wary of creating a subfolder for the homepage. I would name the page home in the navigation name it whatever the site name is in the title tag.

people who understand how to navigate websites and there are very many of them will go back to the/ after .com or whatever your URL TLD is I would strongly recommend against using /home unless you are redirecting from your old site to your new site which then I would strongly recommend redirecting both .com/home & .com/  to the same homepage that is simply one "/" after the TLD or .com

I can tell from clicking on your URLs inside Google that they are redirecting but what's strange is that they have increased in the amount of URLs indexed since I last looked. It might be that somebody did something negative with one of the four IP addresses that it signs to your website and I'm certain that CloudFlare would clean it up pretty quickly however it never hurts to remove another piece of technology and see if it's causing the problem.**

Yes but I'm building links to your entire site you will increase your domain authority it is not wise to intentionally build all the links to one page even if it is your homepage. And that would not help your domain authority as much as if you did it across your site.

it should not negatively impact your ranking in any way shape or form. If you are seeing the speed increase from it it will most likely be a positive effect on your rankings.  Google no longer uses IP's so it's fine. to have a reverse proxy in front like CloudFlare.  you like it and you think it's fine to help move site, by all means, try it out.

It will only have a negative impact on your rankings if you do something that's almost impossible in block Google Bot with your firewall which is not going to happen unless you really start getting technical with the WAF, in other words, don't worry about it

It sounds to me like you thousand serious duplicate content issues. Google will make its own assumptions and it will eventually choose its own rel canonical's if you do not.

Would you feel comfortable sharing your domain?

Run a crawl of everything. on your site make sure there are no duplicates make sure the rel canonical's that you have chosen are the ones pointing to every duplicate. Or duplicates are removed if practical.

This could be very bad just to be upfront with you.

Cause: The page has rel=canonical link in place, but Google disagrees with this suggestion and has chosen a different URL to index as the canonical.

From an SEO perspective using 302 redirects for Woocommerce add-to-cart makes complete sense I would keep it that way.

it sounds like you have and add to cart button on every page and seeing this more often than just once?

Can you share your domain with me for or screenshot of a report showing temporary redirects it is fairly simple to figure out whether coming from and then simply change them if needed income if they are appropriate? I would not bother with the no-follow if it's a 302  without assuming it's very hard to tell if it will make. that much of a difference. Remember yes a 302 is a no index but, could become 301 in Google's eyes in the future.

Could you run your site through a screaming frog?  Or would you be willing to share your domain?

It is possible to lose the physical backlink because of an update you can definitely lose backlink equity but the physical backlinks would not be touched by an accurate meaning Google might find some links that consider worth nothing and demote them but thay would still physically point to your website.

you are going to want to run a crawl your website making sure you have no broken links 404's etc.

you can use Moz,  screaming frog, deep crawl,  oncrawl, Ahrefs, etc.

I would strongly consider looking at the liquid code inside of your team as well as simply rebuilding the page. Also when you doing shall provide a search engine optimization you don't want to have a duplicate of the content of your collection inside of your product content.

I don't think it should be too hard to replace the missing page and use the same URL. You may also redirect that URL to your new product page. To find the redirects simply going to navigation and look on the upper left-hand corner and you will see redirects.

You see have you have a collection and a product in the same URL normally that is not a good thing but it does mean that there is a duplicate, unfortunately, checking I could not find a straight product page for That product.

One thing I would strongly recommend no matter what version of Shopify you are running is using a backup tool like rewind

Give me a little bit of time to inspect everything it looks like you did a good job with the content but all of it is orphan that I've seen. Meaning there is no other internal link pointing to it. This makes it difficult for Google to find also the main website it's on does not have a lot of backlinks that has very few this can affect your ability to be indexed quickly and rank.

Having performed maybe upwards of 80 & without any real traffic loss for more than a week. It is because I follow the rules very thoroughly when you get to the bottom of this how do you please use one of the crawlers mentioned

use a complete search and replace when necessary across the entire site just to make sure everything’s in place.

I don’t know what type of website you’re running however if it is WordPress or if you I want toget some extra traffic I would make sure that the blog is a sub folder.  if it is WordPress you can do this on a managed managed host platform like Pagely , ServeBolt or Kinsta for just $50 a month.

Redirect mapping process

If you are lucky enough to work on a migration that doesn’t involve URL changes, you could skip this section. Otherwise, read on to find out why any legacy pages that won’t be available on the same URL after the migration should be redirected.

The redirect mapping file is a spreadsheet that includes the following two columns:

• Legacy site URL –> a page’s URL on the old site.
• New site URL –> a page’s URL on the new site.

When mapping (redirecting) a page from the old to the new site, always try mapping it to the most relevant corresponding page. In cases where a relevant page doesn’t exist, avoid redirecting the page to the homepage. First and foremost, redirecting users to irrelevant pages results in a very poor user experience. Google has stated that redirecting pages “en masse” to irrelevant pages will be treated as soft 404s and because of this won’t be passing any SEO value. If you can’t find an equivalent page on the new site, try mapping it to its parent category page.

Once the mapping is complete, the file will need to be sent to the development team to create the redirects, so that these can be tested before launching the new site. The implementation of redirects is another part in the site migration cycle where things can often go wrong.

Increasing efficiencies during the redirect mapping process

Redirect mapping requires great attention to detail and needs to be carried out by experienced SEOs. The URL mapping on small sites could in theory be done by manually mapping each URL of the legacy site to a URL on the new site. But on large sites that consist of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of pages, manually mapping every single URL is practically impossible and automation needs to be introduced. Relying on certain common attributes between the legacy and new site can be a massive time-saver. Such attributes may include the page titles, H1 headings, or other unique page identifiers such as product codes, SKUs etc. Make sure the attributes you rely on for the redirect mapping are unique and not repeated across several pages; otherwise, you will end up with incorrect mapping.

Pro tip: Make sure the URL structure of the new site is 100% finalized on staging before you start working on the redirect mapping.

1. Setup a reverse proxy at https://www.example.com/blog/ pointing to https://blog.example.com/

please remember that the hosting or reverse proxy on the server is so important. Some managed WordPress hosts do this better then others.

You  can also use Fastly, CloudFlare business, Incapsula, Cloudfront

2.    Use a 301 redirection from https://blog.example.com/ to https://www.example.com/blog/ with an exception if a traffic is coming from main WWW domain then it won’t redirect. Thus, we can eliminate infinite loop.

This is something that is very easy I would use Fastly

• Change all absolute URLs to relative URLs on blog

NO don’t do that it will hurt your site & will not help you change the URLs they need to be rewritten not made relative it’s a very bad way of trying to do this and will not help your site.

• Change the sitemap URL from https://blog.example.com/sitemap.xml to https://www.example.com/blog/sitemap.xml and update all URLs mentioned within the sitemap

Our main website is e-commerce marketplace which is YMYL site. This is on Windows server. Due to technical reasons, we can’t physically move our WordPress blog to the main website.

If  you’re website site is YMYL I would use Pagely but Linode , AWS can do this to  with Fastly or  Nginx

I would only use a specific schema on specific pages

it adds to the site gives google a way to show the content/data in new ways

Like the home page should have Local Plastic Surgery markup

The blog should have post markup

The contact us page should have  local business mark up as well with the address never mark up any content that's not visible to google. Meaning visible to you as well.

You need to add hreflang to your existing site.

Below the first example where I have EN-US You will see the last three general make ups 3 different ways to add hreflang I strongly suggest either sub folders or Geo domains.

3. The international Domain complex but effective
4. The international subdomain don't do it

If you’ve spent time translating your content into multiple languages or Making them regionally friendly then you’ll want search engines to show the most appropriate version to their users.

you can do this using Fastly or “CloudFlare workers” can do it or other reverse proxies you can simply create the subdomains as you have been doing and then we route them through the reverse proxy to a sub folder it will not be hard work once it’s installed.
