RE: Do custom tracking codes affect indexing?
I apologize for the brief reply I have rewritten this three times and somehow closed my page. Anyway, the important part is this is your issue you are not implementing canonical tags
see this image full-size you have no canonical's
To specify which URL that you want people to see in search results. You might prefer people reach your home page via https://www.schoolofmotion.com rather than. https://www.schoolofmotion.com/?ref_id=moz-test
Cite: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139066?hl=en
You are missing a canonical on your homepage and other pages as well this will lead to duplicate content when you post things like
https://www.schoolofmotion.com/?ref_id=moz-test
in order to prevent this query string from becoming a duplicate, you need a self-referencing canonical or a canonical reference from the query string to the correct URL https://www.schoolofmotion.com/?ref_id=moz-test
I've given you 5 URLs to reference and become more familiar with the subject

- https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/139066?hl=en
**Reverse proxies allow you to set your headers this can be a very efficient way of adding a lot of canonical's if you're using a CMS like Drupal, Magento or WordPress I recommend **

The reverse proxies are below

( I somehow closed my page 3 times while writing this message so I apologize if it is brief)
please let me know if there's any way I can be of assistance

RE: SEO friendly H1 tag with 2 text lines
I agree with most of what Roman said 2 h1 will not be the end of the world.
still I thin it is something I would avoid I would use the h1 as the on page introduction and then use as many h2’s
as needed Google still looks at the h1 tag
google dose try to look at your site design it crawls css & JS like in fetch as a Google Bot
Hope that helps,

RE: Endless Scrolling and prev/next
Hi,
One extremely good reason why you may want to consider using pagination.
I just found a separate canonical pointing at a different page URL when I used your infinite scroll
**Your URL & your canonical Do not match it would be okay if: **you are trying to send traffic to a different URL that is off-site. Now if it is on-site canonical's most of the time are better handled by 301's or 302 Plus this happened on 25 URLs in a row so it i is an attempt to direct traffic somewhere else.

You can't do this without changing URLs Please think about site structure and how if you check your Google analytics I guarantee you the deeper you get away from the homepage the less traffic you get. The golden rule is no more than three clicks from the homepage meaning if land on the homepage and I want to find an article about X, Y, and Z I am going to be able to find those articles through your navigation taking me (in an ideal world) no more than clicks from the homepage.
if you have a really powerful brand something that is a household name forget what I said you can do whatever you want. If you do not you, unfortunately, have one place where you have to find a huge amount of links and the only way you can do it is by scrolling so if I want to show my friend the article that you wrote and I did not share that article or bookmark it I cannot find it unless I scroll through a large amount of other and hopefully find it. Google is not going to endlessly crawl URLs that are not together internally and through a solid site structure. You need to remember that site structure is one of the most important things to building a website. If you create URL structure that hard for people and Google to crawl you will get extremely poor results.
If you really feel the need to do this make sure you add pagination to the bottom and you have a footer that people can actually access during the entire experience. If you look at this entire page you will notice there is pagination on the bottom just like the 1-2-3 style examples below. Yet you can do what appears to be very similar to infinite scrolling, however, there is an enormous difference in this you notice there are pages listed every X amount of items. And you can simply go to what you need to go. to using pagination on the bottom see pictures.
make sure to check Google's index though I would be careful nonetheless. https://www.google.com/search?q=site:www.neakriti.gr/+inurl:page

RE: 44 terms dropped out of the top 3 results on google this past week.
I hope you're well I hope you don't take this as criticism I thought I would go over everything and see what I could find I found a lot of things very quickly.
It looks like the algorithm that hit you is April
There are tons of very hard to understand what you're selling e-commerce options but no descriptions and no really industry-leading or content that would answer customers questions.
I hate to be the one that says this but there's some good news and some bad news I have just gone over this very quickly so please don't kill me for my observation. I believe that you were hit in April most recent hit In April I believe it was because of extremely poor backlink to domain ratio in addition to content that lacks authority and PR You have Latin still on the theme of your website. This is never a good thing. It tells Google your sites not ready and not to rank you for lack of better words
this is on your homepage and look at what it does and look at where it sends you
- https://www.orthopedicjobs.net/
- https://www.orthopedicjobs.net/index/allied
The left-hand of the site's navigation is extremely confusing and no one's going to be happy when they click on it. Even the people doing an advanced search they can just type in the word and you could use something like "elastic search" or "Apache Soler" this is taking the theme and having a developer or maybe no developer chop it up and ruin the site architecture if there was any please don't take this as me being harsh. The site is obviously going to be hit by Google's algorithm it is not up to par with what would rank in the top 10 or 3 I know this is not what you wanted to hear but it's just the beginning of what you need to be doing.
Sign up for search console
You have a 302 redirect on your homepage I would strongly suggest changing it to a 301 and getting rid of redirect chain 302 http://www.orthopedicjobs.net/ 64.111.127.175 server_redirect temporary
I know Google has said 301 / 302's what's the difference wi there is a different one that will keep you from getting ranked as Google will treat a 302 as a no Index for a considerable amount of time.
Status Code URL IP Page Type Redirect Type Redirect URL

The thing you need to understand is I I would rather earn one backlink from a reputable relevant domain then spend the time trying to earn the second from the same domain. Once you have the link, in general, it is a very good thing and adding more links from the same domain is not productive in many cases.
you just moved to HTTPS last month in September I can tell from builtwith.com
- NO XML or HTML sitemaps work for lack of better words you are kind of tricking people when you do that. Want to send people down the corridors like telling someone your bathroom Tesla closet on the right when really is before the stairs and to the left.

- or any other format of XML sitemap is running

Obviously, if we're talking about the Guardian New York Times Wall Street Journal yeah you want to have as many links as possible because they're all going to be unique relevant stories. But overseeing is industry links with query strings possibly causing those URLs to look like they're not the same URL because they lack a canonical
Check your backlinks
First, review your most toxic backlinks, which can trigger Google penalties:
-
If you 100% agree with toxic estimations, add a link to the Disavow list to generate a .txt file and send it to the Google Disavow Tool
-
If you prefer to reach out to the website owner first, leave the link in your Remove list
-
If you know for sure that the link is not harmful at all, simply whitelist it in one click
-
Investigate when in doubt
Click on a backlink’s URL to review it in the quick Page Preview mode to make sure the link isn’t suspicious, and make your decision based on more data.
if you would like for me to help you more I am more than happy to just tell me the word.

RE: Endless Scrolling and prev/next
I hate to say this to but endless scrolling is a terrible when it comes to search. It is honestly one of the worst things you can do for your site unless you’re very well recognized brand. For instance Instagram can get away with this type of stuff 99% of sites cannot pagination is great for what you want to do please remember Google has to crawl? With paginated pages You get a a different page
https://parallelpath.com/blog/the-downfalls-of-infinite-scroll-websites-on-seo
https://www.bruceclay.com/blog/infinite-scrolling-seo-risks/
https://yoast.com/pagination-infinite-scrolling/
https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2014/02/infinite-scroll-search-friendly.html?m=1
Any time you implement JavaScript-enabled features, you run the risk of making it harder for search engines, like Google, Yahoo and Bing, to crawl your site’s content.
If You are not showing the content until somebody scrolls to it I see that you are changing the URL which is excellent. I know that you’re using Ajax to do that from what I can see and unfortunately that is not going to be very good for seo .
I think it’s great that you have the bar at the top showing how far someone scroll I just think that you need to separate these into pages look at Google them selves you get Max 10 links at the bottom you get a next that’s Page

RE: 44 terms dropped out of the top 3 results on google this past week.
We obviously need dates exact dates are the best approximate dates are great. Are you running the site through a Moz campaign that tracks keyword rankings? If so please look at those in correlation with the updates that are posted.
-
RE: 44 terms dropped out of the top 3 results on google this past week.
UPDATED
Take a look at MozCast.com just to give you a slight idea of how much Google’s algorithm is constantly changing in the last couple of months we have seen substantial algorithm updates.
August 1 saw a significant change all the way through September 11, Google Birthday Update: Google Confirms Small Algorithm Update On September 27th, Again On October 8th & 9th? They are not slowing down
Even after that, they are happening consistently. Inside of your Moz campaign dashboard under rankings, you will see a correlation of algorithm updates. If this happened to your number one, I’m sorry to hear this sincerely. Number two I have good news if you work hard enough on your site there is a good chance, and I’m basing this on five sites that lost over 50 to 70% of their traffic and returned back to getting more and more traffic after making changes. This is not always the case obviously these are unique circumstances however it sounds to me like in less you forgot to remove a robots.txt file that said no index or a no index tag something similar to that or do the considerable site rebuild domain migration that you have positively been affected by Googles algorithm updates.
The last two are

(Disclaimer)
I was using voice to text for this I DID update it within approximately two days so that it makes more sense please if you have any questions asked them to me I have dealt a lot with algorithms.I have a good idea of what you need to do once I get an idea of the site.
I’m not saying I can fix everything I’m typing that I can definitely tell you some things that you could probably be doing better or let’s get the basics out-of-the-way and start with a Deep Crawl of the site.I will help you through this via Moz Q&A. So feel free to private message me your Domain if you don’t feel comfortable posting it if you feel comfortable posting it that would be an in enormous help diagnosing the issue is.
Thank you so much,

Are the address real not shared & no P.O Boxes?
Do you do Face to Face business there?
https://ignitevisibility.com/twilio-studio-helps-businesses-connect-customers-no-coding-required/
"The location with the actual phone number and line that is active at the location is performing much better, and I am trying to isolate the cause."
Because most phone lines given by Comcast & the big ISP's are VOIP's I don't think is a VOIP problem I think Google sees your not in the location your forwarding from.
I use https://www.twilio.com/ for my companies phone numbers & so do many other companies
You need to show Google your in the "satellite offices" if the address is UPS office that's why also what size is the location it can be it's just smaller see your local ranking on https://moz.com/products/local

You just made the move to https right?

google shows that the site is not yet In the SERPS as https
what I think is happening is that you have to run a search & replace for all http URL’s making them https URLs in the database so the bot will not have to crawl http and do a 301 to https.
I will test useing DeepCrawl if you say ok?
Is the moz campaign setup to crawl http or https?
The site should work just fine with a search & replace
I will send you the DeepCrawl

RE: Algo Change? Penalty? Lost 25% rankings visibility and 33% drop in search traffic this week.
Yes it is hitting a lot of sites
You can take the drop & line it up with https://moz.com/mozcast/ or https://www.semrush.com/sensor/

Adding " cache:https://www.culinarydepotinc.com/ " to Google shows me your missing some things but no it is not bad one thing I would take your URL's & make them absolute
like
| href="/Themes/CulinaryDepot/Content/css/owl.carousel.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> |
| |should be
| href="https://www.culinarydepotinc.com/Themes/CulinaryDepot/Content/css/owl.carousel.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> |

RE: UPDATE: Rank Tracker is NOT being retired!
Rember
If you use Rank Tracker for keyword tracking, you will need to add any keywords you would like to keep tracking to a Moz Pro campaign. You can create a new campaign or add keywords to an existing campaign by navigating to the Rankings tab and selecting Add & Manage Keywords.

RE: What is the best online reputation management software for generating legitimate Google (and other online) reviews?
Miriam, I agree with I you GetFiveStars is a good Company & Mike is a great guy. The main reason I recommended ReputationStacker Is have been privy to what is coming and what is coming is amazing in my opinion. It also will be its own system.
What Miriam is talking about is extremely important to understand definitely needs to be taken into consideration when choosing a product. This is an example of a company that was forcing five stars and the update because the reviews should not be changed to a five star if it is a different number. It should it be it should be the number selected by the person using the system
"Google made an update on 03/25/2018 and this method no longer works to create a review box link pre-filled with 5 stars."
Also keep in mind companies such as TrustRadius also put schema markup on every page of a WordPress site this is important because Google can see JSON-LD and human beings cannot is essentially the same thing is hiding text by using clear text. Sites can receive manual penalties that are serious.
Respectfully,
Tom

Anytime, John, I am happy to help!

RE: Schema.org product offer with a price range, or multiple offers with single prices?
Each product can have a few different variations
See Google's https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product
Aggregate offer properties
An
AggregateOffer
is a kind of Offer representing an aggregation of other offers. When marking up aggregate offers within a product, use the following properties of the schema.org AggregateOffer type:Properties lowPrice
Number, required
The lowest price of all offers available. Floating point number.
|
|highPrice
|Number, recommended
The highest price of all offers available. Floating point number.
|
|priceCurrency
|Text, required
The currency used to describe the product price, in three-letter ISO 4217 format.
|
|offerCount
|Number, recommended
The number of offers for the product.

**Just 1 **
Product rich results provide users with information about a specific product, such as its price, availability, and reviewer ratings. The following guidelines apply to product markup:
- Use markup for a specific product, not a category or list of products. For example, “shoes in our shop” is not a specific product. See also our structured data guidelines for multiple entities on the same page.
- Adult-related products are not supported.
- Reviewer’s name needs to be a valid name for a Person or Team For example, "James Smith" or"CNET Reviewers." By contrast, "50% off on Black Friday" is invalid.
To include product information in Image Search, follow these guidelines for required markup:
-
To show your product information in the rich image viewer: Include the
name
,image
,price
, andpriceCurrency
properties. Alternatively, instead ofprice
andpriceCurrency
, you can include any four properties and excludeprice
. -
To show your product information in the Related Items feature: Include the
name
,image
,price
,priceCurrency
, andavailability
properties. -
Be careful that the text you use is the same text that is on the page

RE: Should I get an SSL if my non-SSL site is ranking well?
Google Chrome shows "not secure" today forms don't matter If you look at the example website it does not have a certificate or is it using HTTPS
Because lawyers websites are considered "money or life" sites they hold more weight with Google & the public. meaning they need to be secure and trustworthy.
Hopefully, he is already updated his site if not make sure he does.

RE: Changing Domains - 301 old https to new https
Hi
Cloudflare does not need to be added two times (or to each domain) to work or it would only be used on the old domain for an Automattic 301 redirect to the new site/ domain so I would only use it once to make sure I get the set of 301s for the old domain.
Does that make sense?
(The "yournewdomain.com" does not need to run on Cloudflare only the "yourolddomain.com" domain)
You will then want to see how this is used in the following pattern:
https://yourolddomain.com/*
Select “Forwarding URL” and “301 – Permanent Redirect” for the settings, and input the following rule:
https://newyourdomain.com/$1
The /$1 enables the wildcard part to function. Then click on “Save and Deploy.”

Let me know if I can be of any help,
Thomas Zickell

RE: Changing Domains - 301 old https to new https
Thomas is right you IF YOU STILL HAVE THE DOMAIN you can use Cloudflare to do 100% Free URL Forwarding With HTTP & https 301 wildcard redirects with no server.
"Because we couldn't redirect the old https:// to the new https:// So basically we duplicated our new HTML website and put canonical ref on all duplicate pages to the final domain to help get search to navigate to the newer domain."
So the canonical ref on all duplicate pages to the new domain will help get Google to navigate to the newer domain but not like a 301 redirect will. So on Shopify, you are pointing the old URLs to the new domains URL's I hope if not please 301 use Cloudflare for 301 domain forwarding
- If so Follow the tutorial below on how setup free URL forwarding with Cloudflare, along with 301 wildcard redirects.
if you do change the URL's after the forward slash "/" or don't want Cloudflare to run your old domain so you can take down the old domain and do a 301 domain forwarding you should read the guides below.
- https://moz.com/blog/achieving-an-seo-friendly-domain-migration-the-infographic
- https://searchengineland.com/changing-domain-names-2016-10-easily-overlooked-steps-can-save-seo-248484
this setup, you don't want to duplicate your web site HTTP to HTTPS if needed.
If I where you I would just do what is in this guide the only cost is the cost of your old domain & it will auto line up urls (if you did not change them aside from the domain name.
- Read & use this https://woorkup.com/free-url-forwarding/
Hope this helps,
Tom

RE: Should I get an SSL if my non-SSL site is ranking well?
PS you can use https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl/ or Let's Encrypt for free SSL certs but if you buy this has very good pricing for paid SSL certs. https://www.ssl2buy.com/

RE: Should I get an SSL if my non-SSL site is ranking well?
I have the same ( I never do local but was talked into it same type of law business)
_ "but not important enough to risk ranks."_
He needs to understand today Google will not hurt you for moving to https if done correctly see the guide below under to fix use.
As you see now "Not secure" is only on forms In July 2018 all non-https sites in Google Chrome will show up as "Not secure.” This warning will show for all HTTP websites. That will cost someone in Law a lot.
See photo 1 will be in July 2018 & photo 2 sometime after. 3 is google

Google’s announcement was firm about their goal to warn users of insecure sites, with the intent of further shepherding more web publishers into upgrading to HTTPS.
“Chrome’s new interface will help users understand that all HTTP sites are not secure, and continue to move the web towards a secure HTTPS web by default.”

RE: Adding https version of website: how best to redirect
I see you added the certificate but you didn’t force https
flow the guide and make sure it all 4 URLs point to the (redirects) to https://www
you can do it in no time with cloudflare then check it with
https://varvy.com/tools/redirects/
hope that helps,

RE: Meta Description used in webpage content? impact of this technique.
Google will sometimes make its own description based off of the content of your website however in an ideal world will not be generate your description because it would be using the one you made that people like the only way for it to change your ranking would be people like your description and click on it often will be getting clicks and a higher CTR could equals higher ranking most of the time
-
RE: Adding https version of website: how best to redirect
Did you allready 301 the site to https?
if so I would updat the URLs & then follow the instructions
if https is in google index I would fix it with a search & replace or CloudFlare (the 1 thing on the list is this url https://raventools.com/blog/free-ssl-http2/ use it if it’s something you want to have do the work
-
RE: Adding https version of website: how best to redirect
If it’s hand coded use a text editor & search for http replac with https if using Dreamweaver it has a full site wide search and replace.
-
RE: Adding https version of website: how best to redirect
Definitely don’t panic and you’re not in trouble. What I would do for his run a search and replace on the URL‘s if you’re running a non CMS site find a search & replace CLI or script that works with the code you’re site was made with if you’re hosting company is managing the site ask them for help
run the search & replace to fix the URL‘s
one way is to just add CloudFlare.com for free and use the felxable cert
if your on a CMS like wordpress you can use a plugin like better search & replace
