Lost Ranking For My Primary Page
I've been consistently ranked about 8 on Google for my home page, home-theater-design-concepts.com for the keyword "home theater design". The last few days, I'm not ranked at all. I had made some minor adjustments based on the Moz in page report. Which has consistently rated the page as an "A". Any suggestion about what I should do, should I wait a few more days to see what happens?

Best Practice for Website Menus
Hi All, I'm about to embark on the process of redesigning my website both for eye candy, user experience and SEO. When I originally structured my menus in the day, I simply choose a word or phrase at random. No SEO, Google Keyword Tool, or other App was used. Question 1] Should I base my menus on rich keywords/phrases based on the metrics from Google Keyword Tools. 2] Additionally, should I include the the keywords/phrases in the URL Example: ** Menu** - Shoes (URL: mydomain.com/shoes.html)Submenu - Leather Shoes (URL: mydomain.com/leather-shoes.html) Your words of wisdom as always would be much appreciated. I'm trying to track down Jessica Bowman's Keyword Research ROI Excel template from this year's MozCon. Does it exist?
This presentation was awesome - and I've just encountered a pitch that would be ideal for this type of analysis. In looking through my notes from MozCon I don't see a download link - nor can I find one in the presentation. It was the 11:30 - 12:00pm timeslot on day 3 of MozCon: http://www.seomoz.org/mozcon-live/agenda Can someone point me in the right direction? Cheers, J

Any ideas or tips how to get more customers, have you been in a similar situation ?
A couple of years ago I bought a holiday cottage in the UK and I couldn't afford to have it stood empty which lead me to get into search engine optimisation and marketing and now I'm hooked by most of the people on this forum and it's become a hobby and a way of life. I'm getting good search results on Google for terms like Whitby holiday cottages, which is one of the major search terms traffic wise and I'm appearing above the fold on page 1 of Google along with some of the big boys. http://www.endeavourcottage.co.uk/ I've managed to get somewhere in the region of 95% occupancy throughout the year for my own holiday cottage so I decided I would like to branch out into small letting agency represent the peoples properties. Over the 12 months I've managed to acquire four clients on my new letting agency website but I found the hardest bit is getting new customers for the website. The main holiday letting agency in Whitby has well over 100 cottages on their books and they according to various sources do not provide high occupancy rates and this is probably down to the fact of the sheer number of their clients. My idea is to just manage a small number of 10 or 20 properties in a more personal way and provide a good service for each client. The four clients I now represent only came to be because I physically met the people in the town and got to know them personally and they are getting much better occupancy rates from my website and marketing campaign. If I could get a few more customers I could spend more time and money on my marketing campaign and make the business hopefully an intimate successful affair for all parties. I lived 80 miles away from the seaside resort and I very rarely stay there is my cottages mostly occupied so the chances of meeting people is quite slim at the moment. You can e-mail people till you're blue in the face but they don't seem to want to trust you and give you their property to represent as an agent when you've never actually met them and you don't have a physical bricks and mortar frontage or a history in this type of business. Basically the town is full of holiday cottages with very low occupancy rates, and even though I'm advertising to take on new clients with no red tape and contract I have attracted no new customers from my website.I also tryed the local paper and just

Who is Mozcon for?
Hello! I own and operate an online retail store for batteries. Basically, I live and die on search engine ranking. I have been working with two well established SEO companies that have significantly strengthened my standings in both Bing and Google search engines. I have a good understanding of SEO and the various aspects that it is comprised of. My question to you guys - should I attend Mozcon? Is this event geared more towards marketing companies or is there any potential for a small SEO savvy business owner to attend? Stepping away from my company for four days is a rather large commitment at the current moment - I need to be certain this event is worth it for someone like me. Any thoughts? Has Panda 3.4 March 23rd changed its target?
I have several sites which were all hit hard by Google Panda in the affiliate marketing space. Up until now my main business sites have stayed largely untouched and well ranked. That is until March 23rd when I noticed big falls in some highly competitive keywords - one of my sites taking a 25% traffic reduction from Google organic and the other getting hit by 40%. These site have no Adsense and no paid advertising and no link selling and no Black Hat SEO like BMR, so my question is has anyone else seen their business site hit on or around 23rd March? At the same time I have noticed searches for popular keywords are returning many more results and even some big names seem to have dropped in the rankings too. Over the last few months I have been trying to take action to reduce my site's bounce rate and UX, but obviously this wasn't enough. Anyone else been hit by Panda 3.4? I am trying to ascertain which types of sites got hit and whether I can find commonality and causes.

Can anyone recommend Boston/New England SEO conferences/events?
One of my goals for 2012 is to network more, so I'm trying to find some SEO conferences to attend this year. Unfortunately I don't have much of a travel budget, so I'm looking for events/conferences in the Boston/New England area. I'm open to both large conferences and small local events. Are there any Boston specific groups I should join?

How to make partnerships with quality sites
I have a small group of insurance related blogs and sites (20). I have been creating useful articles and linked them to my main site. ex. (multiplecarinsurance.net, decisivewebsites.com). I have been sending email to sites that i linked, but I'm never sure if the emails is getting to the right person (webmaster vs sales). And some other time I cant even get and email address. Is there better place to find partners?. I was thinking that maybe there is an internet marketing club, where people openly create and develop partnerships.

Where can I find an SEO mentor?
I've been having difficulty finding an SEO mentor that can answer my questions and rate the strategy that I'm currently using, as well as bouncing ideas off their experience. Basically, most SEO companies will not want to do this, and will more likely want to sign you up for a monthly plan in link building, however I want to learn SEO on my own with my team, and many companies in Sydney, I guess, see us as competition and don't want to reveal their 'secrets'. I've read a bunch of books on SEO and we are starting our SEO campaign now, however having someone to speak to now and again to get feedback on our strategy would be invaluable, however is proving very difficult to find. On one hand, I know I just have to take action towards link building and other things,
| HeadStud
however on the other side, it would be good to have someone to give a helping hand and bounce ideas off who has experience. If someone is interested in becoming a mentor for myself as I work to build my digital agency in Sydney pleaes get in contact with me. The pay is $30 - $40p/h depending on experience. Regards0 -
What "Fresh" Ideas Are You Executing?
At SES Chicago, the "freshness" topic came up in a couple convos. There were also some, what I would call, crazy ideas intended to take advantage of freshness. I have been reading up here: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2125272/Google-Freshness-and-Temporal-Data Most of the suggestions that I heard seemed more likely to look like spam signals than freshness signals. Are you paying attention to "freshness"? Are you "freshening up" old content? Has it altered your content strategy otherwise? If so, how?

...Link-Building...Y U NO WORK!?
So, my dilemma is this. Even though we are delving into more advanced SEO rather than the standard splash pages, I believe that our results are good, but they can be better. I've researched ALOT from WIEP.net, but I'm not so sure that I am grasping the concept of building links externally.... So this question is primarily discussing what you may have experienced and how IT started to make sense.... Not asking for all the right things or places to go, just NOT what to do or where to go... ok ok, if you CAN or would like to discuss the right places, I'd be much obliged and thanks beforehand! What are your thoughts?

How to redirect www.xxx.com to xxx.com or vice versa
Roger has detected a problem: We have detected that the domain www.xxx.com and the domain xxx.com both respond to web requests and do not redirect. Having two "twin" domains that both resolve forces them to battle for SERP positions, making your SEO efforts less effective. We suggest redirecting one, then entering the other here. hi, i tried creating the campaign and this message popped out.. i dono what to do or how to redirect b/w www.xxx.com and xxx.com ( xxx = hidden site) am using godaddy domain and hosting at hostgator. thank you.. waiting for ur reply

Mozcon Sold out
Went to sign up for MOZcon last night and found it was sold out. I would have bought this many weeks or months ago, but I'm brand new to SEOmoz. I'm completely hooked and REALLY want to go to the convention. I signed up for the wait list and it states they are trying to expand the venue. What are the odds of that happening? Does anyone have any other ideas on how to get tickets?

Mozcon Questions
Hello All, I'm a total newbie to SEOmoz and am totally addicted. I'm seriously considering going to Seattle Mozcon. I would really like to hear some feedback from newbies who went last year. It would be really nice to hear if you learned a lot and if you have incorporated some of your Mozcon education into your SEO strategy. It looks to be a pretty long event and every day seems to be completely filled with things I probably don't want to miss. That said, it would be a really large investment of my time. Is it worth all this time? Thanks!

What did you learn/get from Link Building Seminar New Orleans?
(No, I am not posting this thread to help me create linkbait. grin) Great seminar! Just got back from the drinks and networking at Muriel's (was that a cool location or what!?) and thought I'd start a discussion thread on here, since I don't see one yet. What was the biggest thing you learned/got from this seminar? For me, it was all the tips and tactics to create and promote linkbait.
