Hi Everyone,

I have a website (https://gemslearninginstitute.com/) which I need bring in Google Packs and on the first page of Google. I have attended a few courses but none of them offered in depth knowledge with hands on training so whatever I do it is not producing results.

Hey fslpo! If you want to gain in-depth knowledge of SEO, I would highly recommend two resources: Hubspost Academy and Search engine journal. Hubspot Academy has an SEO certification course and provides multiple resources on different topics that go in-depth. Search engine journal is another great resource that has detailed articles on various SEO topics and strategies. It pairs these articles with valuable tools and resources that will help you get started in implementing the strategies it mentions. For example, SEJ has an article on guest posting that not only includes an explanation for the mindset you should approach guest posting with but also a Google sheet link to help you craft personalized emails to send to potential guest post website authors. I hope these help you out! Good luck with ranking your website! You got this!!
Best,

For comprehensive SEO and Digital Marketing training, numerous online platforms offer valuable courses. Consider platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and HubSpot Academy, offering diverse courses in SEO, content marketing, and digital strategy. Google Digital Garage provides free courses, while LinkedIn Learning covers SEO and marketing essentials. Specialized providers like DistilledU and Moz Academy offer advanced training in SEO and related areas. Attend industry conferences like Search Engine Land's SMX for the latest trends.
Locally, check universities, colleges, or marketing agencies for workshops and courses. Explore self-study resources such as blogs from Moz, Search Engine Journal, and Google's SEO Starter Guide. Books by experts like Rand Fishkin and Neil Patel provide in-depth insights.
Evaluate the training's alignment with your skill level and business objectives. Continuous learning is crucial in the dynamic SEO and digital marketing landscape. Whether through online courses, specialized providers, local institutions, or self-study resources, investing time in diverse learning avenues will enhance your expertise and effectiveness in the field.

Digital marketing refers to the use of digital channels, platforms, and technologies to promote and advertise products, services, or brands to a target audience. Unlike traditional marketing methods that rely on print media, television, or radio, digital marketing leverages online channels and electronic devices.

@fslpso Try Learning from You Tube SEOs. Once you are familiar with the Basics, you opt for Paid Programs. I had the smiliar Issue while working for Top Caption Ideas . I joined a SEO Program i found on Google and i have been impressive in SEO since then.

@fslpso Good morning! Good for you for wanting to improve your online visibility. If your business is virtual (looks like online tutoring) then the Google local packs are not the right direction for you, as those are for physical businesses that serve clients locally in person. If I'm understanding your model right, then what you need to study is organic SEO. Here are some great options for you:
The Beginner's Guide to SEO is one of the most popular, free, longstanding resources here at Moz: https://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo
You might also like to enroll yourself in Moz Academy for exceptional training: https://academy.moz.com/
I hope these offer you a great start!

Need help in diagnosing what I may be doing wrong
I have a site that has been having problems ranking. Initially, spam rate was at 18%. I have since changed the URL and forwarded to the original so now the spam rate is under 5%. Phone calls started picking back up very slowly but then by August 2024 things came to a screeching halt. Phone has been dead and very little business has been written. I did notice on the robots.txt file it had this: User-agent: *

Disallow: /wp-admin/
Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php Sitemap: https://urlishere.com/sitemap_index.xml My question is what else do I need to do to get this site to start ranking again? We are blogging once a month, writing press releases once a month, updating the social media a few times a week. I feel like maybe there is something on the backend that needs to be done to get this site back to ranking. I am using SEO by Yoast and I have filled in the title and meta description fields for all pages. There is a spot in Yoast where I can validate the site with Google, Bing, etc. I'm trying to figure out how to do that. I do see in the site's Google Webmaster Tools there are several pages not indexing. Any ideas on what else I can do to get this site to start ranking again? Thank you.0 -
Who is correct - please help!
I have a website with a lot of product pages - often thousands of pages. As each of these pages is for a specific lease car they are often only fractionally different from other pages. The urls are too long, the H1 is often too long and the Title is often too long for "SEO best practice". And they do create duplication issues according to MOZ. Some people tell me to change them to noindex/nofollow whilst others tell me to leave them as they are as best not to hide from google crawler. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks for listening.

Hi there SEO agency owners
Hi, we are slightly baffled. We have amazing backlinks and good on-site SEO, yet we don’t rank on the first page for our main keyword, “SEO Cardiff.” Now we can't understand why we are not on page one of Google for this keyword? Can someone have a look at our site and tell us why? We think we have better backlinks than some of our direct competitors that rank for this term.

What are the SEO ramifications of domain redirection?
Hi Moz Community! I was just trying to set up our global site and got this message: "Redirect detected

We have detected that the domain bhaktimarga.org redirects to prodfront-coli.bhaktimarga.mediactive-network.net. We do not recommend tracking a redirect URL. Would you like to track prodfront-coli.bhaktimarga.mediactive-network.net for this campaign instead?"

Is this done for performance and masks the hosting provider domain? I haven't talked to website developers about this yet, but my main question is...Does this have any SEO ramification? Thanks so much,

Hey Moz Community, I'm curious about the latest trends in SEO. I am sharing some insights or tips on optimizing for voice search! Apologies for the delay.
Absolutely! Optimizing for voice search is becoming increasingly important, especially when it comes to niche topics like sewing machines. If you're writing about Singer sewing machines, it's essential to consider how people might voice their queries when searching for information about these machines. Incorporate long-tail keywords and conversational phrases that sewing enthusiasts might use. In your articles about Singer sewing machines, you can provide answers to questions like 'What are the best Singer sewing machines for beginners?' or 'How do I maintain my Singer sewing machine for optimal performance?' By offering comprehensive and insightful answers, you're more likely to align with the needs of voice search users. If you're interested in exploring more about Singer sewing machines, you might find this resource helpful: Best Singer Sewing Machines. It's always great to have in-depth articles paired with valuable external sources to enhance the reader's experience. Happy sewing and optimizing!

Collections or blog posts for Shopify ecommerce seo?
Hi, hope you guys can help as I am going down a rabbit hole with this one! We have a solid-ranking sports nutrition site and are building a new SEO keyword strategy on our Shopify built store. We are using collections (categories) for much of the key product-based seo. This is because, as we understand it, Google prioritises collection/category pages over product pages. Should we then build additional collection pages to rank for secondary product search terms that could fit a collection page structure (eg 'vegan sports nutrition'), or should we use blog posts to do this? We have a quality blog with good unique content and reasonable domain authority so both options are open to us. But while the collection/category option may be best for SEO, too many collections/categories could upset our UX. We have a very small product range (10 products) so want to keep navigation fast and easy. Our 7 lead keyword collection pages do this already. More run the risk of upsetting ease/speed of site navigation. On the other hand, conversion rate from collection pages is historically much better than blog pages. We have made major technical upgrades to the blog to improve this but these are yet to be tested in anger. So at the heart of it all - do you guys recommend favouring blog posts or collection/category pages for secondary high sales intent keywords? All help gratefully received - thanks!
