      Hi, All!

This is for any foreign language SEOs where articles or prepostitions such as "the" "to" "in" or anything else are actually part of the word they are modifying and not a separate word, as in English:

How does Google understand those words on-page and in anchor text?  If you want to optimize for the word "house", and your content/anchor text says "the house" or "in the house" (again, all one word) - what does Google count that as?  Does it count toward "house"?  Does it count toward "in the house" only?  Does it count toward "house" but not as much as if you had just put "house"?

I end up sometimes writing slightly grammatically-off content because I want to optimize for the keyphrase - but is that necessary?

Obviously different languages might be different, but you can probably project a little from one to the others.

      Thanks in advance!

              Hi Justin,

Thanks for the reply (and the link, of course!) - must have missed that whiteboard friday video.....

OK, so my interpretation of that is that if the additional letters change the word enough, it probably won't rank for the basic word. If the changes are reasonably simple (like singular/plural) then I guess that Google can work that out. Also (although not mentioned in the video), if you have a word made up of a couple of real words, like bluewidget.com, it seems that Google can work out which word is which.

              Would you agree?

I'd just like to clarify - in Hebrew, the additional "words" are actually additional letters added to the beginning or end (or both) of the keyword.

It's as if in English you would write "when you (masculine singular) want" as "whenyoumswant", i.e. in a single word. Do you think that Google would be able to work out which words were really part of whenyoumswant?

                    Hi Debi,

as far as I know those words are filtered out by the search enginges - regardless what language they are written.

They have no relevance for the interpretation of the written text and have only grammatically and syntactic functions. I didn't test it though, but I think there is no difference if you write e.g. the anchor text with our without them.

I have done SEO for Serbian and German and our texts were written in a natural unaltered language. This presented no obstacle with the rankings.

Can Foreign Language Backlinks Be Valuable?

                        backlinks link building

I've done a lot of searching on this subject, but I keep seeing conflicting answers. Are backlinks from foreign language websites valuable? For example, a travel website in English picks up a couple backlinks in Indonesian language (and other languages) from foreign sites that have a DA of 60-70 or higher. The topic is partially related, but the language is totally different. Would those links still be valuable for the English website's DA? Has this ever been answered conclusively? Thanks

What's more important page authority Vs domain authority?

Hello everyone, I am fairly new to SEO so I'm still trying to get my head round everything, I am currently looking into some back links .. well looking at competitor's back links to copy. I was just wondering what's more important page authority or domain authority? So for example if a page has a page authority of 50 and a domain authority of 10 is that better than if a page have page authority 10 and a domain authority of 50. Thanks so much in advance!

Is it safe to submit the same article to multiple sites?

Hello, I am just getting into SEO and I need some guidance with article submissions. I have read in many different places that submitting articles to other sites  (EzineArticles, Digg, Etc.) is a great way to build links back to your site. My question is, can I submit articles already posted on our site to these sites or is it best to write new articles?

How does Google treat multiple backlinks on the same page?

Hello mozCrew Just a quick yay or nay. We have an embeddable code on our site for customers who want to post our link on their website listed here: http://www.accupos.com/etc/embed-code-restaurants.php But in our link, there are actually 2 separate links, one branding link that says the name of our company, AccuPOS, and another link which targets a specific target keyword "Restaurant POS Software". My question is, does Google only give credit for the branding link, since it is listed FIRST? Or will we get double credit? Is this a good or bad practice, and what would you recommend? Thank you! Derek Moore

Site stuck on 2nd page on Google - how can it improve?

Hi I am working on a site http://www.harrisbassett.co.uk that for search terms such as 'Chartered Accountants Swansea' appears near the top of the 2nd page of Google. When looking at what is listed on the 1st page for 'Chartered Accountants Swansea' I would appreciate any advice/guidance on what else could be done to give the site a final push to get on the 1st page of search results. Over the past 2 weeks I have been building inbound links from local citation sites yelp, qype etc along with sites from competitor analysis via opensiteexplorer. Looking at the sites that are on the 1st page I cant understand why many of them are ranking higher than me? Any insight and plan of attack would be most appreciated from any  search experts on the forum. Many Thanks

How much do other people rate Ezines as a provider of articles and incoming links.  What are peoples experiences. It has to be one of the most strict article sites but does this make it the best ?

Has anyone seen positive results from using Submiteaze to submit to directories? I know an SEM agency that uses it for clients' link building campaigns, but I don't know if it is worth buying. Are there better alternatives?

I would like to start a link building initiative at my company for a new website, and would like to know if the value of the links built using Submiteaze would be worth the money.

What's the difference between follow and nofollow links?

I understand this may be a really dumb question and from my understanding there is a piece of code in some url's that tell search engines not to follow that link. I am interested in finding out what the purpose of nofollow links are and how they apply to search rankings. Thanks for the help
